What is wrong with Ola Cabs and Ola Electric?
Bhavish Aggarwal is one of the most famous entrepreneurs in the country, recently seen in the news for all the wrong reasons.
His more ambitious project Ola Electric is going to IPO in 2024, but it is also reportedly plagued with problems. Ola Cabs has been unable to raise funding since it last raised equity investment back in 2021 at a valuation of $7.3 billion dollars, and since then, its valuation has been slashed several times - to just about 25% of its peak valuation of $7.3 billion.
And #Ola Electric is facing different issues altogether - Its controversial work culture and reputation for delayed promises are coupled with its scooters randomly catching fire on the street.
And at the center of both these companies is Bhavish Aggarwal - While outsiders hail him as a visionary and disruptor who is doing for India what Tesla did for the West, the insider opinion is the exact opposite.
Why is #OlaCabs under so much heat even though it is the market leader in India? Why is #OlaElectric facing such harsh criticism even though it leads the e-scooter segment in the country? Is Bhavish Agarwal a genius who is changing India for the better or is he another Byju Raveendran in the making?

He is a true sanatani and is not reserved to express his opinion. His losses were not like byjus. He invested every penny he raised in vertical integration. His EV bikes to be part of main stream commute were super idea (though it did exist in some shape or form).

He must focus on robust glitch free scooters, quality servicing and efficient mass production of the scooters and its battery. This one product has to be perfected in order to gain people's trust in this new company.
Elon is often criticized for his overpromises and deadline targets coz he keeps bringing up some "new cool stuff" to divert the attention of customers and investors
