      I'm so glad to hear it! And omg, I had the same problem my senior year too. Despite my best efforts to take some good pics, I still ended up cringing for every photo I uploaded to my applications. I was so worried that I wouldn't get accepted anywhere just cause the quality was so bad 😂

    This was extremely helpful! I don’t post my art anywhere on social media but I had to send a banner design which I drew traditionally by email to my art director so this really helps :)

    00:20 Lol that's like learning how to look up the answers to a math test using 5 different sites rather than just learning the simple formula once and solving the questions all in your head.
    Those are some solid edits though, great job on that.

    Next time try selecting the pen then expanding the selection by a few pixels then fill with content aware. It's just less tedious to cloning it out.

    Hey! Great video, I've used photoshop for five years and didn't hear about perspective crop until watching this. A tool I've found to be extraordinarily useful when wanting to saturate/adjust the temp of a specific color without affecting their compliments (such as the blue background with warm-toned face) is the selective color tool. Using selective color you can completely alter the major tones - including white, black, & neutrals - without affecting anything else.

    This is so helpful. I was wondering if you had any updated hacks for working in the instagram app (maybe a new video)? I seem to remember one of your other videos talking about how you use insta but I was wondering about anything new you've learned

      Thank you! My instagram account has changed a lot ever since I started working 100% digital, but I have learned a thing or two about making a cute pic in the years since my first social media how-to video. Let me add that idea to my queue and I'll get back to you with an updated video ;D

      Oh dear god, I SO feel you on the photoshop pains. If it weren't for clients and premiere pro, I think I'd ditch my subscription. I don't think I can do a video trying out other software (just cause that would take an immense amount of time) but: 1) pretty much all the free software out there mimics photoshop. the buttons might be in different places and they may call certain effects different names, but I'd be very surprised if you couldn't replicate almost all the tricks in this video. 2) Another lovely person in the comments asked for an updated instagram tutorial, and /that/ I will actually do in the future. I know instagram doesn't work as a regular photo editor, but if your main concern is making cute pics for social media, then I can help you very soon 👍

    That was awesome and thank you for showing me the perspective crop tool omg. Heres a tip when you have the levels adjustment layer open like at 3:17 using the eyedroppers on the left of the graph thing you can select from your image what should be pure white and pure black and the midtone if you have one. Should speed up the process a bit.

    I like your channel. You seem to be a very nice person, and a wonderful artist, but I wonder why you feel the need to use foul language (variations of "sh*t" seems to be your favorite). I assume this channel is part of your resume/portfolio and something that potential employers would see, no?

    • @pandemicbarbie

      This is the modern age, fewer and fewer people care, even in corporate offices. During Biana's video, I didn't even notice her swearing, I was focused on the skills she was teaching. Regardless, the UA-cam comments section is a silly place to complain of 'foul' language. You should keep in mind that she just graduated from art school, where she specifically had classes on how to market herself and her abilities. She knows what she's doing more than you do.

    • @user-ep8vs9fy4y
      @user-ep8vs9fy4y 4 роки тому +1

      UA-cam is obviously free of speech. There are plenty of people who cuss and won't notice either. She is old enough to do what she wants. This channel isn't supposed to be for 5 year olds, she does videos because she wants to. Don't like it then don't watch her videos, simple as that.

    I don't get why you wouldn't use a photo of art you actually made but yeah. Using other peoples art to up your aesthetic game is all fine but like you're an artist in your own right, so this feels awkward.
    TLDR: artist using another artists work in thumbnail for clicks is bad optics.

    • @BianaBova
      @BianaBova  4 роки тому +13

      I'm a digital artist. I haven't made a traditional piece in years, and all the old work is stored away (And frankly, it's all really cringy to look at. I've been trying really hard to push my digital work out there, and I don't want potential new subscribers to see one of my old paintings and think that's what I do now). It didn't make any sense for me to to take a photo of one of my prints cause my artwork already exists digitally. This wasn't an attempt at clickbait, I just needed something as an example for this video.

    • @melloroom7510

      @@BianaBova UA-cam is your job Biana, lets not kid ourselves. Every decision when uploading is intentional to increase traffic and views, which is fine. But use your own work, because you are an art channel. You "just" didn't have to make a video at all but you did, so at least being authentic couldn't hurt. "Just" some advice.

    • @rhino8817
      @rhino8817 4 роки тому +9

      you can't tell someone what they can and cannot do with their youtube channel. promoting other peoples art on her channel is completely and utterly fine. she doesnt have to explain to why she choose someone elses art. as long as she credits them then it doesnt matter.

      Prismolly I don’t see the problem with her using someone else’s work instead of her own. As she mentioned, she didn’t have anything drawn traditionally and she gave proper credit of the artist!
