Yeahh ^^^^^. I feel like instagram is not for a LOT of artists. And so much of it is just "Draw fanart with the fan hashtags, and even if it's not good you'll still get a crap load of followers saying you ARE good." That doesn't seem conducive to getting better... Drawing what you like almost gets you nowhere usually, unless it's what everyone else likes too. :/ A posting schedule is so extreme to me.... I'm gonna take my good old time and enjoy the process--not do it for the immediate reward of meaningless likes.
Instead of drawing everyday, you can just post updates of your works like WIPS and stuff. You don't need to draw everyday (although that's a great practice), you just have to be active everyday.

Artists are trying their best to impress people using their art, but even if they try quite unusul and creative way to express, still rarely anyone gets interested and that's kinda sad. Not even my own friends. I'm doing what I can with my account but I want to give up on it because no one gives a shit about it.

It’s been two years since I’ve had my art account, I post pretty regularly and always try to improve my art in some way but I always get the same results. The numbers won’t go up no matter how many hashtags I use or how consistant I am, the only people supporting me are my friends and family, but I feel like it’s not enough and they only do it out of sympathy. I’m kind of lost but I don’t want to give up on my passion yet I feel like I’ve reached a dead end....yay
I get sad when only 5 ppl like my art that I’m proud of and then I’m not proud of it anymore bc only 5 ppl like it. 😢 but I always remind myself that *if I like my art that’s all that matters!*
You have to draw every day, you have to become fast at your work. Disney artists can make a panel of art in 40 minutes, i say that not to discourage you or to feel lesser, but to push you and inspire you! If they can do it, keep working at it and I’m confident you’ll make it there.
I really feel sad when I post an artwork that I’ve worked for hours gets a small number of likes. Even if I put a lot of hashtags, it never receive the recognition it deserves. There’s one time I almost give up on drawing artworks because they receive small likes. Now, when I post artworks on Instagram or Twitter, I turn off the notifications so I won’t get disappointed. I just moved on from it and hoping that some day, all of these artworks will get recognized by the world.
The Instagram Algorithm got messed up; do not be too hard on yourself. Also all these famous manga artists do not even have Instagram. We draw because we love it or to entertain others; not to impress others or to get more likes than others.
At one point... I just started asking myself... am I drawing because I love to draw, create an artwork and feel that sense of happiness I felt as a kid or am I drawing because I want likes, I want many followers and I want to be 'known' ..... and that made me really not want to draw anymore because I would get disheartened at the smallest things. So I took like a one month break and now I just started posting again on my Instagram and ofcourse that thought of 'is it getting likes' still remains in my head but I tell myself that I DRAW because I LOVE the FEELING of it 🤍 because I do.
I’m not an artist but I have a homie who refuses to do fan art unless he really wants to. He says for the sake of “staying true” to himself & not “selling” out, he wants to see how far he could go with his own creations. He a hood nigga so he be busy & barely has time for his art but I believe in him lol. just wish he can thrive off his art one day & not in the streets
it gets super stressful and upsetting when i spend over 7+ hours on an artwork and it gets only below like 40 likes? I've been an artist for about 6 years and i feel like im getting nowhere:") even though i understand that its not likes that matter but they do make my art feel appreciated
I'm really stuck & demotivated due to ig algorithm, but i still push through & post daily according to my schedule just to make sure my account is still active.. but thanks for the tips tho! i appreciate it
I have decided not to use Instagram for followers, but to see my own improvement. I look at it as a place where I can store my drawings, and look at my improvement and my old drawings, comparing them to the new ones. I like to look at my art, but I can't take out my drawings every day, so this is pretty useful.
Very nice tips, thanks a lot! For me personally it's really hard to be consistent, especially since I just finished university and now have to do more adult things, urgh, haha. But I rellay want to try a schedule from now on and more behind the scenes stuff.
I love drawing something, but whenever I post mine on the internet I start to think that mine isn’t good enough and not worth to be uploaded on the internet 😭😭 then I started to have my own Instagram.. And again I kinda want to take down everything

Nooo, don't think like that! :C even if u think your drawing aren't really good, still post them sometimes (i mean, don't post everything u draw, at least for me, it'd make me feel like everything i draw needs to be perfect and i'd get anxious), it's a good opportunity to get some feedback, so you know what you're doing wrong and can improve on that ^^ if u still have an instagram, drop your @, imma follow u c;

a recap: -make a schedule when to post - draw fanarts; it'll help u get noticed by bigger audiences - be consistent (post often) - engagement! try to interact w ur followers (comments, likes within the 1st hour of posting) - post at the right time - switch to a business acc (lets u see stats of ur acc n followers, etc) - post only art! - artists who post too many personal phtos can discourage followers -post on your story (this is where u can post ur personal photos like behind the scenes and what ur up to) -draw what u love (but maintain a balance) - participate in art challenges! get more involved - use hashtags -ig favors videos like bts of progress and stuff - be patient! it'll take time; the ig algorithm is rly weird so just focus on growing instead of gaining a lot of followers ✨
I really cringe from calling my work ‘art’ since I see ‘art’ as what the big masters like Rembrandt, Picasso, Van Gogh make... Anybody else has this too?
Art is an creative work in my eyes. It doesn't need to be hyper realistic, hyper quality work, it just needs to be your creation. I think people need to stop putting so much weight on the word "art" and, in turn, their own work.
@@DBDH003 No I'm absolutely not claiming that art means hyper realistic or technically top quality, I see 'art' as work that is very well thought out, with a great concept and story behind it. But skill is a part of it. And since I think my "art" is just for fun and not very well thought out I don't see it as art...
Thank you to give advice tip and tricks to get better I'm just starting to become a artist I even wrote it in my Instagram page saying I'm a beginner artist my art is not that great but I'm going to try my best to learn tip and tricks by you and others artists and I hope I could prove my art so thank you
I started my art account in august this year. I started doing fan arts and my fan account grew too much too fast. I reached 1k in two months but then when i changed my account into a normal art account instead of fan account my account stopped growing for a while. I would recommend people to get to know artists because that kinda helps you join the artist community instead of the art community. Now i have 1,3k on my account emogirlartist🤷🏻♀️Thank you so much for the advices as well they are so true!💘
I started an art account and I’m so happy I’m getting follows from my friends and they’re supporting me soo so much. I tried switching to a business account but I didn’t understand how it works at all I post behind the scenes 😌 because it just helps me know that my followers enjoy watching me work I’m gonna be patient and work for it 😂 Okies I’m done with my story
it just hurts not even my comments get recognised by people ,and about my art i dont know i get so much less attention on my channel and on instagram. i feel all of those artists spending so many hours and not getting enough audience
one of the things I hate the most is art accounts start following me I follow back and 2 days later... BAM! they unfollow me. it makes me sad that artists don't support each other... who'll support us then?
I just want people ro recognize my simple art😥, I know you cant be famous over night.... But I love drawing 😣 and thats the source of my determination💪🙎
I'll be following your tips in the future! I have been having around 174 for like a month now...and I honestly really want to grow. As I really want to start an artist career but and I hope to be reached out more once I get noticed. Username on instagram is also @IllustrationsByDemy
@CharlieseEuphemiaArt I appreciate your enthusiasm, but compared to the 7 billion people on this planet, that’s not much sadly. I’ve been stuck on the same number 268 followers on Insta for SO LONG, and it frustrates me because I know I’m a good artist; people just don’t know I exist.
Me: draws something that iam proud of and spent hours with Audience: *2 likes in a week* Also me: draws a stickman Audience: *67 likes in 4 hours* 👁👄👁 💧
I feel the advice is helpful, but it is so much harder now in 2023. The algorithm is not in the favor of the smaller accounts. I used Instagram for years and before I would run into small accounts more often. Now my "for you" page is entirely large accounts, that is all it shows me! Only large accountS of 30K and up. I like to support the smaller artists and to do this I pick a hashtag and I scroll forever until I start to get the smaller account. Its ridiculous!
I noticed that only the artists who are already popular are saying that "oh followers and likes don't matter, draw whenever you want" But they've already gotten far I feel like that's why they're so confident while saying that I'm not saying they're wrong They are right You shouldn't care about likes and followers But it's actually very hard to not care Because likes and follows means that your art is getting recognised And that's one of the main reasons you are sharing your art To get recognition So it makes me kinda sad and annoyed when they say that kinda thing
@@beomtoesucker aww tysm 💙 your reply definitely did help, and we can support each other when we both make accounts yk if u want 👀 but really, thanks man 🤍
@@nguyenlethuylinh6544 I took a look at your acc, and yeah, your drawings are not skilled, low quality (it's not because they are colourful and have some basic ideas so it means they're skilled. There is many structural problems etc; it's easy to see that you're at a "beginner" stage through your skills and ideas) I think the problem here, more than skills, it's also because most of them are boring or not striking. There are plenty of people doing what you do, but in a way better way. That probably explain why everybody still ignore you. Of course there are other minors parameters. I know it's harsh, but i'm just being honest here. I saw improvement in your latest drawings, so don't give up because maybe, one day, you'll reach your goal.

You have to draw every day, you have to become fast at your work. Disney artists can make a panel of art in 40 minutes, i say that not to discourage you or to feel lesser, but to push you and inspire you! If they can do it, keep working at it and I’m confident you’ll make it there.
Even if it's bad still post it because then ppl see you grow as an artist and how much an improvement you've made since then.
I take 1 month :D
OOPS I guess this has been out for awhile and I missed it- I had actually planned to ask you this question, so this is perfect!
Oh my gosh, I love your character design tutorials :D
Guess I'm more late🔥
I really feel sad when I post an artwork that I’ve worked for hours gets a small number of likes. Even if I put a lot of hashtags, it never receive the recognition it deserves. There’s one time I almost give up on drawing artworks because they receive small likes.
Now, when I post artworks on Instagram or Twitter, I turn off the notifications so I won’t get disappointed. I just moved on from it and hoping that some day, all of these artworks will get recognized by the world.
Your account name please i want to follow
"growing your art and growing as an artist." It really is important to set your values straight and not let toxicity get the best of you.
I’m not an artist but I have a homie who refuses to do fan art unless he really wants to. He says for the sake of “staying true” to himself & not “selling” out, he wants to see how far he could go with his own creations. He a hood nigga so he be busy & barely has time for his art but I believe in him lol. just wish he can thrive off his art one day & not in the streets
just remember: quality > quantity
Hey guys don't give up! Your art is beautiful and does deserve a lot of likes it just takes time
it gets super stressful and upsetting when i spend over 7+ hours on an artwork and it gets only below like 40 likes? I've been an artist for about 6 years and i feel like im getting nowhere:") even though i understand that its not likes that matter but they do make my art feel appreciated
Same Its so depressive
All I care about are comments. It’s really frustrating for me when someone likes 50 posts and doesn’t write a single comment

Me drawing a 5 minute sketch and adding a little shading
Audience: wow!
Me posting a fully coloured digital art that I spend 3 hours in: nah
I love drawing something, but whenever I post mine on the internet I start to think that mine isn’t good enough and not worth to be uploaded on the internet 😭😭 then I started to have my own Instagram.. And again I kinda want to take down everything
Same! I follow other artists and they are so good, I get so insecure about my art.
*Do not draw for followers. Draw for yourself.*
When I was 15 I was obsessed with Instagram.
I used to draw just for followers and I drew too fast... so fast that my drawings were absolutely *wrong.*
I used to watch my followers number every morning, every single time. But one day I *realized* that all of this was a *sick* theory. I was *not happy* with my works, I really _hated_ them. So *I started drawing for myself.*
*Now...*
I don't want to take photo to my sketches, cause it's useless.
I need my sketches to grow up with my style, not with followers. And now I don't want to be followed for nothing.
I think my art express something, and I'd like people can feel that, just this. I don't want to be famous, just be understood.
(Sorry for my bad english)
Nooo, don't think like that! :C even if u think your drawing aren't really good, still post them sometimes (i mean, don't post everything u draw, at least for me, it'd make me feel like everything i draw needs to be perfect and i'd get anxious), it's a good opportunity to get some feedback, so you know what you're doing wrong and can improve on that ^^ if u still have an instagram, drop your @, imma follow u c;

100% the most useful video I’ve seen on this subject
a recap:
-make a schedule when to post
- draw fanarts; it'll help u get noticed by bigger audiences
- be consistent (post often)
- engagement! try to interact w ur followers (comments, likes within the 1st hour of posting)
- post at the right time
- switch to a business acc (lets u see stats of ur acc n followers, etc)
- post only art! - artists who post too many personal phtos can discourage followers
-post on your story (this is where u can post ur personal photos like behind the scenes and what ur up to)
-draw what u love (but maintain a balance)
- participate in art challenges! get more involved
- use hashtags
-ig favors videos like bts of progress and stuff
- be patient! it'll take time; the ig algorithm is rly weird so just focus on growing instead of gaining a lot of followers ✨
Subtitles at 9:36 say "what do i post if this is an herb account" made me giggle
I think people need to stop putting so much weight on the word "art" and, in turn, their own work.
can't call myself artists no matter how much I draw
@@DBDH003 No I'm absolutely not claiming that art means hyper realistic or technically top quality, I see 'art' as work that is very well thought out, with a great concept and story behind it. But skill is a part of it. And since I think my "art" is just for fun and not very well thought out I don't see it as art...
Imposter syndrome
Absofreakinlutely. I mean I get that feeling. There was even a meme about it out there. :))

I noticed that only the artists who are already popular are saying that "oh followers and likes don't matter, draw whenever you want"
But they've already gotten far
I feel like that's why they're so confident while saying that
I'm not saying they're wrong
They are right
You shouldn't care about likes and followers
But it's actually very hard to not care
Because likes and follows means that your art is getting recognised
And that's one of the main reasons you are sharing your art
To get recognition
So it makes me kinda sad and annoyed when they say that kinda thing
i want to start an art page so bad but im scared it'll get ignored..
@@beomtoesucker aww tysm 💙 your reply definitely did help, and we can support each other when we both make accounts yk if u want 👀 but really, thanks man 🤍

@@ishanichaudhuri9736 yeah, I followed nearly every single tips and nothing work! I guess I'm not that talented :(
@@nguyenlethuylinh6544 I took a look at your acc, and yeah, your drawings are not skilled, low quality (it's not because they are colourful and have some basic ideas so it means they're skilled.
