Automatic Trout Catcher with a Guillotine | Catch & Cook Ice Fishing | Fish to Pan Challenge!
Вставка
- Опубліковано 1 жов 2024
- Greg's spent MONTHS developing the new and improved version of his first automated fish catcher, the FISH-O-MATIC! Not only does the NEW Fish Catcher 300 catch AND cook the fish, but it also uses a guillotine to dispatch it. You'll want to see this contraption in action!
Greg is a self-taught survivalist from Canal Flats, British Colombia, who, since he was a boy, has read nearly every book on the topic. When he is not out in the wilderness, he is a professional dry-waller. He started his first bow drill fire when he was thirteen and spent the next forty years learning bushcraft and studying plants and edibles. He has even developed some of his own survival techniques and is a skilled hunter with both a bow and a slingshot.

If greg got lost in the wilderness, he'd be having so much fun surviving, he'd be disappointed when he got rescued.
They would have to build a trap to catch him lol

I love how Ovens shows you the entirety of the project, unlike other UA-camrs who cut out their trials and only show their final product. Great Work and amazing channel
Read the title and said to myself this ought to be something 🤣
I was so excited when it all came together at the end! Great job getting it done Greg!
Glad you enjoyed it!

Except last fish being alive
The last fish you caught and cooked seemed to be a lot LESS lively than the 2 before it, even though I think you tried to pull a fast one on us i have to admit you sir are a genius
The fish was definitely alive though, if you go to 23:18 you can still see the muscles in the mouth moving
I was thinking maybe second or third time reeling the same fish in before he cooked it the trap is really cool though
Agreed. Others flopped enough to shake the whole thing around if not just yank off the hook. That one where he yelled, " OHH RIGHT INTO THA PAN" It was still, not flopping at all. If a fish was hungry enough to hunt, it would not be still as a block of ice when caught. Facts. Also still agree he is a low-key genius!
You guys don't know poop.
Just watched the season of Alone you were on and I was super bummed you lost considering your desire to help your daughter etc. I’m happy your channel is doing well, hopefully you don’t have to hang drywall anymore? God bless.

I wish my grandpa was more like you sheesh fun outdoor stuff omg i would go out everyday with ya
Bro, as someone who lost their grandparents all of a sudden then regretted not spending more time with them, I just wanna say, even if it’s a boring activity, do it. Sooner or later you’ll give almost anything for one more day.
A whiiile ago I watched your video for making a blueberry crumble, and now many months later im enjoying this video! Your creativity and persistence are both admirable, plus love your 'backyard' ! Positive vibes from south Boston.
Loved seeing Fin as a puppy I've been going back checking out your earlier content. Congrats on your perseverance and sticking with it. I think the flexible duct was your aha moment!
You remind me so much of my grandpa. He was a natural engineer. Because he had polio from when he was a kid, he always had to create so many things to help him in his everyday life. We lost him 7 months ago to cancer. I just needed to tell you that I really appreciated this video and it made me feel close to my dear grandpa. And I’m so glad it ended up working! Good for you, Greg!

My Grampa was also the best. So glad you had yourself a good one also.

I laughed so hard thinking about what’s going through those fishes minds as they travel up Greg’s fish execution machine
Lol
I'm just glad you could still do a thumbs up after all that ...
Bro your channel is absolutely amazing. Love what you are doing. Thanks for posting, keeping me entertained as well as learning a bunch of stuff. Great content.
The blade on a guillotine is diagonal. Not straight across. Gives a cleaner cut. However Doc Brown would be very impressed.
I also was going to mention this...As well as it being sharp which is very helpful as well..LOL...not just a dull end of a steel plate
1.21 gigawatts of guillotine power needed.
Haha that remote control jeep in between the snow pack at 4:26 reminded me of when Austin Powers gets that vehicle stuck In the hallway in the first Austin Powers movie.
haha love the song Greg!
Next version: when the pan gets pressed down by the weight of the fish, the pan's downward movement trigger a spring mechanism to swivel salt and pepper from the left and right side of the pan to season the fish. :) Please make!
Right, I like fish but I was thinking about garlic, chives, basil and pepper etc.
The machine is already amazing, but this is a very funny idea and I think keeps with the spirit of the machine perfectly, 😂
No
- Actually, I was thinking that the oil/butter and seasonings should be already there, but the mechanism that turns off the motor for the reel, also activates a spark trigger to ignite the tinder under the pan, so the fuel doesn't start burning until after the fish is in the pan, and the seasoning and oil/butter will not burn or have to be dispensed. That was what i was thinking would be working better while watching it because otherwise a lot of the fuel could burn away if the fish doesn't catch right away, like say a half hour before it gets a bite, then most of the fuel would be used up and the fire going out.
Where do u stop? Have an app that calls your phone and tells you when it will be served up? 😂
The ingenuity of this man is astonishing. You’ve earned yourself a new subscriber

This is my first time seeing you and this is amazing. Your editing randomness and your candid demeanor are second to none. You are happy. This whole video should be renamed "Why Not"

I've not been able to even catch a trout in a year and you are here with a machine that catch and cooks for ya.
(Been trying only a year)
Whoa! too much gypsum dust! Here we are at the 3rd. major revision of the concept and you're telling me that the best way from A to B is not to make a sketch first but just try things until something works. That said, I keep coming back for more.
Fun fact: in that 3 stooges clip where Moe falls on the table, he broke a few ribs IRL, and STILL FINISHED THE SCENE!!! What goddamn professionals!
I knew that scene looked a little too real to me 😆
Um oh wow ok
7 ribs apparently, and he passed out after the cameras stopped lol
Someone time stamp it please. I can't find it now that I finished the video >.

Been waiting feels like months
Can't get fresher then that!
That's awesome!! Now you just need to find a way to get it to gut the fish before it hits the pan lol
First, it needs to measure the fish to make sure it is legal, then dispatch, gut, and flip it so both sides get cooked.... and then shut itself off. Sounds like I've gone too far? Greg is probably thinking of the possibilities.
And it has to debone it.
Bro to get as far as you did and to be able to catch a fish at all is an absolute brilliant achievement
randomly came up on my feed, decided to check it out, and GERMAN SHEPHERD PUPPYYYYYY!!!!
Good way to start off the weekend

Mo actually broke like 4 ribs in that stooges clip & he finished the scene, before getting it checked out..
Guillotine is pronounced "gee-yo-teen", with the word being of Spanish origins and the two lowercase "L's" turn into a "y" in terms of the sound it'll make and it's pronunciation. Great videos by the way though sir 👍👍
The French changed the Anglo Saxon pronunciation to gillateen. But, you're right: it's gi-a-teen
