Based on the recent collection and how heavily its been in the circles. I have firm confidence Capcom is gonna bring the more cult-like characters back in a new game. I would love to see new additions, but also the oddballs like Captain Commando again.
I feel the need to point out that Lady from DMC being planned makes a lot of sense considering her signature weapon was used in one of Dante’s special moves in MvC3 and was one of the only moves he lost in transition
The only positive I can personally give this game is they actually brought TJ back for frank. Which seems like something that's impossible for the series to do at this point. :)
My brotha, MVC WILL return. With the success of the MvC Classic Collection, Capcom and Marvel understand that people still love these games, this franchise as a whole. It’s not a matter of if MVC4 will happen. It’s only a matter of when.
Trust me, I would love to be wrong. But a collection of games where most of the money spent was licensing isn't the same as a new game with models and coding from scratch. I would love for that collection to convince CAPCOM that the MVC series is worth trying *and actually funding* again, but I also remember what they did with Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster....
Its crazy how badly Infinite got fucked by these anti-X-Men restrictions and Fortnite didnt, but I guess it was about 2.5 years between Infinite and the first Marvel season of Fortnite. Epic even included references to MvC in the recent Marvel season.
Probably, the Fox acquisition finished about a year before that season. We also started seeing more X-Men in other games around then, like Ultimate Alliance 3.
General rule of thumb with Japanese names and words: consonants are almost always at the beginning of syllables and almost never at the end of syllables. (“N” being the biggest exception). So “ah-sue-rah” would be closer, but as another commenter pointed it’s actually pronounced with an “sh” sound. (I don’t know enough about Japanese to give any good advice for remembering that part).
I might be posting this early in the video, but while Speedball isn't a popular character, he would make a powerful specials, as his power set would make him use his body as a projectile and take almost no kinetic damage.
if mvc4 is done right it could be pretty cool but, I think capcom will need to include Deadpool & Wolverine, which opens the door for "variants" they may be able to add in the game IE in D&W movie, Electra and Blade were there. So imagine if a MVC had Electra, Blade, Deadpool, Wolverine, and the primary avengers. But not having a 32 char roster where its 16 and 16 is a bit mindnumbing
You know... Gene from God hand and Jin from Cyberbots have the same name phonetically, since you brought up pronunciations. Both names are pronounced like the character from God Hand, since the I always makes the "ee" sound in Japanese, without exceptions. You can hear how characters pronounce it in Tekken, too (Xiaoyu, Jun, etc all say Jin's name proper).
Kinda like some of the returning characters to be somewhat similar with each leak (god, you are so right with peter fitting the voice role for captain commando) Shame that punisher wasnt even considered at all
Marvel vs Capcom Infinite should be remade with 6 new characters in the roster. 1. Wolverine (Marvel) 2. Death (Marvel) 3. Gill (Capcom) 4. Captain Commando (Capcom) 5. Regina (Capcom) 6. Asura (Capcom)
I hope the comments about Miss Marvel and Miles were about their inconsistent writing on their books compared to their massive popularity instead of some weird DEI/Woke comment. I've really liked your MVC vids, but if it's the latter instead of the former, then I guess your content isn't for me. And if it's the former, sorry about the assumption, ya just never know with most UA-camrs today.
I would be considered anti-woke, by I don't really care for going on tirades about that. I'd rather call the Spade a Spade, if you will. Instead of saying Miles/Kamala are woke characters, I'd rather point out their issues (Miles was blatantly made to replace Peter, Kamala has been overly pushed to try and force her to be the face of the company). Or in my Video on Dead Rising removing Erotica, where I focus on both the hypocracy of it and how it was the laziest solution to the "problem" as well. Doing that just gives a better idea of what's wrong, and is a better way to talk to people you're normally going to disagree with. It's why I've had overlap with other commentators, but I rarely use their terminology.
The concluding thoughts seem unfortunately true to me, Capcom is becoming more and more corporate and their current mindset will only further hamper projects they deem small fries.
the quantity of the roster wasn't a problem at all, considering it was a 2 v 2, and tbh the gameplay is better than mvc2, other than that i can't disagree at all with the rest
I agree. But it's not Marvel fans that need to be convinced. It's business executives. And I'd hedge my bets it wouldn't make it past the first pitch because "uncanny" is seen as a negative word (i.e. Uncanny Valley)
@@JakeJakersah yes, Rey is a self-insert because the producer is a woman. That doesn’t even really work with the definition of self-insert because KK didn’t create Rey. With Kamala, I can kind of understand why maybe he co-creator would have more of a say in when she’s included, but she’s a character with a pretty big fandom surrounding her. Personally, I’d like Kamala in a Capcom fighter and think she fits right in with characters like Sakura.
@@mrpingasman3079 Not true. Her original run actually did really well critically and even commercially, and she was one of the better "new era" heroes. But that was also a decade ago. Her modern runs are constantly being relaunched or canceled.
@@JakeJakers this argument doesn't work since it's not about Kamala - it has been Marvel's publishing policy for many years. Most characters if they're not crazy popular like Spider-Man or X-Men now just get limited series or short runs to save money. Company doesn't want to spend too much on marketing these comics while Big Two fanbase has a hard time to accept new characters.
I think Ah-sur-ah is meant to be the (sort of) Japanese pronunciation of it while Uh-sur-ah is meant to be the English pronunciation of it, I may be wrong though
Apparently, both Rosas and Evans are stupid enough to think that the x-men & the fantastic 4 are not important at that time, but apparently, they're wrong
Ah, yes, the character select screen that will ALWAYS trigger my ocd...
Granted. XVSF, MSHvSF, & MvC are uneven too. With more Capcom characters. Infinite was just Marvels payback.
I do really wish that Captain Commando got another shot. He’s got a fun design and demeanour.
Maybe the next game he'll come back

Infinite has the worst roster of all these games. The marvel movie roster is so boring. There is a reason people are still playing MvC3.
Its crazy how badly Infinite got fucked by these anti-X-Men restrictions and Fortnite didnt, but I guess it was about 2.5 years between Infinite and the first Marvel season of Fortnite. Epic even included references to MvC in the recent Marvel season.

CARL ?!?!!
I always love people commenting on him.
Carl is my favorite mvc character
...carl squid girl???
Seriously, is it "A-Sir-Ah" or "Ah-Sue-Rah"? Who's Wrath is it? I never played the game.
I have never heard anybody pronounce it "A-Sir-Ah".
Ah-shuu-rah is how its pronounced. At least in that game

People looked at MVC3 and pulled the Thanos "Perhaps I was too harsh" when this game was released.

Ika Musume Carl?!?!?!?!?!?!??!
Gun fact: that character's name is "Squid Dude" - an inside joke between me and my friends.

@Jake Jakers
I’m curious to know but what are those “rumors” you speak about why Marvel pushes Kamala the Ms. Marvel a lot ???
The TL;DR is that she's the self-insert of one of Marvel's Top Brass (Sana Amanat) similar to Rey Palpatine to Lucasfilm's Kathleen Kennedy.
