A LITTLE ABOUT-ME
I'm Cambodian and Chinese.
I was born in November of 1983 and raised in Houston, although my heart lays in between Houston and Hawaii.
"OG KPOP STAN": I've always used the term "OG" (supposedly "original gangster") to define being old-school, and I became an avid Korean music aka Kpop listener/lover since 1998. Kpop was my coping mechanism from the bullying I experienced in my younger years and it's just stuck by me ever since. Also! Just to be clear: me calling myself an "OG kpop stan" doesn't mean that anyone who's listened to kpop later than me is inferior. A kpop lifestyle is a kpop lifestyle regardless of time.😄
I was a hiphop dancer for about 7 years. I did the whole crew thing, auditioning thing, competition thing, choreography thing, dance instructor thing, so I have some experience in that field and I hope to be able to share some perspective from my experiences for y'all to see the extra things that I appreciate about a video when I point them out.
My videos can have quite a lot of cuts in editing and/or my eyes will unnaturally blink rapidly sometimes. This is because of my neurological disease that came with my lupus nephritis (posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome). My thinking abilities and speaking abilities struggle to align at times.

Seventeen is known for not repeating the same moves/formations in the chorus. Bc how diligent they were in training, getting into "synch" isn't challenging for them. Between Hoshi's choreo and Woozi's composition and song writing they are as self- produced as groups get.

i met someone who didn’t like it once bc they said the chorus annoyed them and they turned out to be extremely toxic😃 i don’t trust anyone who doesn’t like this song
Well I don't think I'm toxic but I also don't like the chorus 😅. It's not that I hate it or anything, it just falls flat for me. By comparison, staying in the emotional EDM genre, I like Thanks and Home much better. But everyone has different tastes and emotional triggers and that's ok ^^
Edit : I'm only talking about the song itself here. The choreo on the other hand is one of my absolute fave SVT choreos 😍

Yes. Seventeen is one of the best groups when it comes to showing off that musical theatre vibe
This choreo is connected to the “Without You” choreography and “Clap” choreography, both songs from their following album Teen, Age! Without You starts like the ending portion of Don’t Wanna Cry but it is literally reversed! And they finish Without You on their respective positions to start Clap. It is seriously amazing and blowed my mind when I first saw it, hope you can react to that as well!

MAMA2019, when svt performed after the announcement of the winner in best choreography of the year, they slapped back so freaking hard
They're by far my most favorite kpop group when it comes to dancing/choreography and I have yet to find anyone that impress me as much as them when it comes to perfect synchronization. They're so good that even a computer programm analyzing the synchronizations of a bunch of kpop groups put Seventeen at #1 as the most synchronized group.

I'm not a huge fan of seventeen, but I can't help but recognize their dancing talents. They are some of the most consistent and fluid and synchronized dancers in the industry and this song is a masterpiece all around
The guy that makes the martial arts spin is The8, he has some amazing solo dance projects that are very worth checking. Also he has a duet with another member, the Chinese line, called My I and is one of the most incredible pieces of art I've ever seen

I was one of the ones who requested this one, thank you for reacting to it! I've always been in awe of how in sync they are especially considering there are 13 members, and this song in particular has always had the most beautiful choreography to me. I don't know if anyone has mentioned it before (probably) but the members are involved in the production a lot. Woozi writes and produces a lot in the songs, and Hoshi does a LOT of the choreography.
Since you love this, you will definitely love their Thanks choreo too. It's probably the way how they shot it but their Thanks choreography video reminds me a lot of dancers at a WoD stage.

Seventeen has some of the best dances I’ve ever seen. They’re so dynamic with their layered effects and precision! MAKES A GROWN WOMAN CRY. I personally loved Oh My! by Seventeen because of their DANCE, would love to see you react to it!

Yeah this dance made me a fan. I remember when they started the chorus on the floor I was like okay, I’m interested..then the end of the chorus going into the verse, it went together SO SMOOTH. I always find floor choreo to look kinda disjointed from the rest of it, but man the way they moved, stood up, used their knees..loved it. Then I noticed the contrast with their still moments and the quick TINY movements. And then the crazy fast arm movements with them kneeling, killed me dead.
And that’s how a carat was born ✨
Seventeen really has greatest songs with great choreographies. All their dance practices is a must watch I can say and it’s really worth watching.

Seventeen always had great music and choreography but it was this specific song and choreography that not only broke my mind but also solidified them as legendaries in the music scene for me.

I mean, the guide is actually 2 hours long but you will get to know the 13 of them as well as the whole group. That guide is the best.
