- WTF DOES “OG KPOP STAN" EVEN MEAN?!
Supposedly "original gangster”, can be seen as “old generation", personally viewed as “old-school”.🤓
I became an avid Korean music aka Kpop listener/lover since 1998. Korean and rap music were my coping mechanisms from the bullying I experienced in middle school through high school and my love for the genre has stuck by me ever since.
Unfortunately, I took a huge break from Korean music around 2015 when I was officially diagnosed with lupus nephritis and seizures; I was receiving and battling years of chemotherapy and dialysis along with taking 32 pills a day, so I had no mental/emotional/spiritual room to keep myself updated with the genre. Luckily, I'm in remission now! Doesn't mean that lupus and seizures are gone because I am still very capable of frequent flare-ups of I don't take care of myself, but I make sure to do so enough to manage and live as "normally" as possible.
When I made this UA-cam name, I was thinking from my graphic-design-major perspective of a brand that will not only describe what my content will be about but will also align with the times, and y’all know that “Kpop stans” have been a thang for awhile now so hence the cringe-worthy title, OG KPOP STAN. (My love for Eminem is also relevant.😂) ALSO! Just to be SUPER clear- me calling myself an "OG kpop stan" does NOT mean that anyone who's listened to kpop after me is inferior or less-than. A kpop lifestyle is a kpop lifestyle regardless of time. Please don’t get that sh*t twisted.😛

Most people would cringe when they see older groups do cute and youthful concepts and wished for them to stick into darker and mature concepts, but you cannot just with Seventeen because they're so good at this concepts you would really enjoy it specially you can see that they're enjoying it themselves and not just acting it.
it's lovely because like, it's youthful but not in a "we're kids" way, it's actually refreshing to me to see them all in their mid-20s still cool with such a lighthearted concept! talking about how we don't have to grow up so fast. for a youthful concept, this is a very mature theme, in like a mentality sense. i'm not sure if that made any sense lol but the point is i also really respect them for doing a concept surrounding youth even though they're in their 20s! they do it well and without trying too hard to act like kids. it's very like... honest. or something.

In the choreography they made a reference to their song Fallin Flower. In the choreography for Fallin Flower they make a hand movement that imitates a flower petal falling but in DK’s parts in the beginning they mention flowers in the lyrics and make the same hand movements, but backwards to imitate the flower petal moving upwards.
to add to this, they actually referenced alot of their past songs as well, the pointing finger is from our dawn is hotter than day, theres also a campfire scene referring to theiir song you guessed it campfiire, and so much more! i love the choreo for this song so much

What’s good about Seventeen is, their whole discography is really really good. This is just a bside but they created a choreography and can actually be a tittle track. Not all idols can do that. Commonly most idols just focus on their title tracks. Fact: Seventeen already performed almost all their discographies live , some have choreographies and some was just performed live, title track and bsides (except only for two songs.) That is how confident Seventeen is for their whole discography. Only Seventeen did that.
Seventeen got the best B-side tracks. No one can argue with me.

I just wanna say it's completely fine to pause /a lot/ i dont know but i enjoy it when reactors appreciate the smallest details that goes on the choreography and talk more about what's going on so please don't be afraid to pause to talk about something! We're just here to enjoy your reactions too!
When talking about solo projects, The8 has several such as his contemporary arts (has a few videos) and a solo called dreams come true (i believe he's gonna have another solo or mixtape), Dino has his series called Dino danceologies (also has a few videos), Jun has a solo called silent boarding gate and also crow. There are many singing covers they do by several members. There are also unreleased songs they have from concerts and most of them are solo songs by the members. For the ones with dancing involved I suggest Jeonghan purple rose, hoshi touch (spider was basically touch 2.0), Woozi with you (the still fancam is a bit hard to find), Dino zero, and etc..
at 7:12, I like to imagine Jun holding a candle and lost and when he sang the "oh, i'm not alone" part, he found joshua.
oohh i thought it was an umbrella but imagining the scenario of jun with candle and finding josh is cool too
Haha yeah, it was an umbrella cause the lyrics said something about umbrella at that part (I can't remember the exact lyrics translation but Jun did say 우산 一 umbrella in that part). But the take of it being a candle is also interesting~
oh that's a cool interpretation!! i love the stories they tell, how you could perceive it like that! i always saw him sharing an umbrella but i really really like the candle interpretation too, it fits!!!

Yea! Please check out more SVT! Their choreo basically got me into kpop and is always a work of art! You will only fall deeper down the rabbit hole from here 😅
I'm Jun-biased but I say that loosely because I am constantly and rudely WRECKED by every single other member 😭 so it's totally normal to have 2+ biases in SVT lol. Would definitely recommend Getting Closer, Hit and for a nice contrast, Snapshoot!

Edit: also fun fact in Dokyeom's part (yellow shirt) in the dance when he does the hand movement it's the opposite of the falling flower motif they had in the dance of Fallin flower because the lyrics during his part where something like a new me has blossomed

You'd really love to listen to all tracks of HENG:GARAE because the whole minialbum have this sentiment like MYMY's and Left&Right. SVT offered this to the youth and cheer up everyone. Giving theor support to each of us who's continuing our journey and telling us we can follow where our hearts wants to go and on our own pace.

I love svt’s choreo~~ a bit off topic, while I was looking around at svt’s choreo, I found a choreographer/dance studio that helps a lot with creating both svt’s and other groups’ choreo (Choi young jun/ freemind) they’re fun to watch :) (not asking for a react just a suggestion haha)

The hand movement before dk highnote is the same like in fallin flower ending but in reverse.. It went from down to up, just wanted to point that out and the other hand pointing before the last chorus was part of "our dawn is hotter than day" choreo, actually u can see a lot of their old choreos mixed in this, they are sooo creative! ^^

don't worry so much about pausing and talking a lot!! i guess there are some that don't like that but one of my personal favorite things about reaction videos is hearing what you think and have to say!! i'm always interested in what you see as a dancer, since i'm not a dancer myself, so i like get a new perspective. this song is SO fun and so lovely! i surprisingly didn't like it a lot at first but then it became my most-listened from the album. the choreo is so cute and creative - you're right about that circle formation, they're supposed to be sitting around a campfire and playing a game together!!
A little thing about the choreo at the start--They're all holding umbrellas! And then when Jun goes to Joshua to "share his umbrella" the lyrics are "Yeah the clouds become umbrellas for the sunshine, Oh I'm not alone"
