hey! lots of reactors ask this haha "the middle thing" you see in dance practices (a lot of them have it) is so they can mark the "center of the stage", so everyone can have an idea of positioning throughout the choreo by referencing the item that marks the center (you can notice that the person in the center is always aligned with the marking item). it can be anything, in the choreography for "very nice" seventeen just used a plushie, but it's also common for groups to use their albums as an extra promo like in this dance pratice for "don't wanna cry"

the “box” at the center is actually their album for their Don’t Wanna Cry comeback which is Al1 (pronounced as Alwan but interpreted as Alone). they usually put an album on the ground to mark as their center most especially during their early dance practices since they do not have numberings on the floors/mirrors where they could use as their marks for their positions, but in their practice room in hybe they have now numberings on the floors and mirrors so they don’t use stuff to put in the center anymore. and another thing, they use albums to promote it as well😂
