I once saw an interview with Sasha were he basically said Ali G would pose as the guy bringing in all of the tv equipment while a guy in a suit would talk with the person about to be interviewed, making them believe they were about to be interviewed by the guy in the suit but seconds before the taping begin they would swap places very quickly. At this point most people are confused and are not about to walk out. They make them sign the release forms before the interview as well.

Most people were told that they were being interviewed by a big tv channel in Kazakhstan making a documentary about what life is like in America. Usually most people will entertain Ali's questions and buffoonery. Rooney was profiling for sure, maybe not racially but definitely culturally. nriab23 Languages evolving is not only predicated on any of the words being used incorrectly. For example, new words are formed, or colloquialisms are created, and are later officially added to a language.

He didn't sign up to be a part of Ali G's comedy skit. He's probably a busy man with a tight schedule who grudgingly agreed to a 5 minute interview for something he thought was serious. Then he quickly cottoned on that it was a some sort of a joke and that he was being made a fool of. He could've played along like Noam Chomsky did, or he could've gotten annoyed and acted rude like Donald Trump did because his time was being wasted. He chose the latter. That doesn't make him an asshole. I love Sacha Baron Cohen's comedy stylings, but I also recognise what he does is sly and involves him being dishonest in the way he sets people up.

The idea to interview Andy Rooney was pure genius. Correct, racialist is completely a real world and was used frequently in 1920's-1940's textbooks and literature. For an old guy who acts like he's well-read, he sure as hell doesn't even know the terms and words used in his own era.

He didn't sign up to be a part of Ali G's comedy skit. He's probably a busy man with a tight schedule who grudgingly agreed to a 5 minute interview for something he thought was serious. Then he quickly cottoned on that it was a some sort of a joke and that he was being made a fool of. He could've played along like Noam Chomsky did, or he could've gotten annoyed and acted rude like Donald Trump did because his time was being wasted. He chose the latter. That doesn't make him an asshole. I love Sacha Baron Cohen's comedy stylings, but I also recognise what he does is sly and involves him being dishonest in the way he sets people up.

The idea to interview Andy Rooney was pure genius. For those too young to remember him, he was this cranky guy that would do segments at the end of 60 minutes essentially about things that annoyed him. And btw it’s spelled with two “o’s” - I think Andy spelled it wrong to mess with Ali G at the beginning.
