    I am loving my 2019 Raptor. I usually get bored with most new cars after a few weeks., however I have a big smile on my face every time I drive my Raptor. It is like a sports car and a high performance truck. I don’t miss the v8 at all and it gets better gas mileage than my Toyota truck. Ford knocked it out of the park if this truck proves to be pretty reliable.

    Great vehicle, very fun to drive.
    I worked in the automobile business for many years.
    This is the best vehicle Ford has ever made.
    Mine is Ruby Red too. We call her Ruby. Had extra customization done on it. $6,500 in special paint work and new exhaust. Then another $3,000 for special led fog and off road light set. The lights were all installed in the openings in the front bumper.

      Can't wait to get the 2020 Raptor! And in this color! All red though. Including the graphics package. Gonna be putting decal on mine. My friends have their Raptors and have been awesome enough to let me take theirs out on the road and off. It won't be until September however due to some delay in the production but it'll definitely be worth it!

    I've been around them at the Ford Performance racing school out in Grantville, UT. Everyone has high praises for the Raptor, the people I've talked to once their day was done were in awe of the experience! My girlfriend and I are going back the last week this month for the free dinner and full track day, gonna be cool to be out there again (two attendances at the ST Octane Academy from buying a '17 FoST and a '18 FiST) it would be even cooler if I could divert into the Raptor class but the FIesta and Focus ST track cars are a blast too! Thanks for the video, the Raptor is pretty much not a mistake to any die hard Ford truck guys.

      L S, the GT500 motor doesnt have enough torque. Besides the high rpm means much more wear and tear on parts. A torque monster is better than a high revving track motor. An aluminum 6.2 liter 4 valve with a 3.0 Whipple would easily put down 725-750 hp and 700 lb-ft of torque and it would be a lot more reliable than a v6 strung out to near its structural limits or a high rpm plant

    GM 6.2 stock is 420hp and 460 torque. The factory performance exhaust kit gives it approximately 14 more hp (dont know about torque). With that, maybe making a compacted graphite version and some tweaking GM could have a V8 matching the performance numbers of the HO ecoboost, before any form of forced induction. The 6.4 engine from fca already stomps the ecoboost, but they won't put it in the 1500 for some awful reason. I could see ram releasing the trx with the 6.4 as the base engine and the hellcrate as an upgrade, but lucky for ford, ram wont use the 6.4 in 1500's

    I think most people would agree that this is (by far) the best looking and best performing truck in this segment. I can't imagine how a lack of a V8 has driven anyone away. This is really a tough truck to beat imo. The only one would not want a truck like this is due to its height and payload. So if they could trick out the suspension(if possible) to lower for ingress/egress/loading. That to me is the only thing that would sell more. I think they would sell a few 5.2's as well but most would go eco. People who need more payload/towing will just look at something else.

    Ultimately, sales will dictate if it was a mistake or not. Kids today probably don't care. Older guys like me are V8's or nothing. The new (2021) RAM TRX will likely have the Hellcat power plant and will force Ford to step up their game. It would be very interesting to see Ford answer back by offering a 7.3L V8 option for the Raptor and then let customer's decide if that or Ecoboost makes more sense. We already know that motor is coming in the new F-250. Older people will recall a time when Ford offered a wide variety of power plants in their truck lineup.

      Robert DeMilo it’s the kids who care...I don’t know how old you are, but I’m 50 years old and I could give a shit less whether I have a V8 or not. I care about performance, and the Raptor out performs any factory truck on (or off) the road today. Those of you that think Ford will answer the TRX with the Shelby V8 are just looking for an excuse to get your V8 back. Ford just cranked 700 hp out of the 3.5 a EcoBoost on the GT supercar. They will just torque up the EcoBoost when (and if) the TRX ever comes out.

    The turbo market is crazy being a big Subaru guy an all. This Raptor has caught my eye now that they have the twin turbo setup. Get fuel economy and power whenever you need it. It would be nice if a V8 were an option but sadly engine options would drive the price higher on an already expensive vehicle and lets face it the eco is much better in a daily driven environment both for the consumer and to satisfy the epa. Plus it fits with Fords new design philosophy, which has clearly been a smart move because they haven't been bought or bailed out.
    Anyone that says 'hur if a truk aint sound like no truk then it aint no dang truk' is a goofball and anyone that says 'I'd buy one if it had a V8' can't afford one anyway.
    Also no one has been talking about the GT500 engine going into the raptor, forum trolls and click-bait UA-camrs have... but they're not real people.

      I'm sure a lot of V8 fans have never even driven an Ecoboost vehicle. Last year, I test drove an Ecoboost Mustang at the Denver Auto Show, and it was surprisingly quick and had more than enough power to smoke the tires - even a mile above sea level. 300 horsepower from a turbo 4 and 450 horsepower from a turbo V6 is plenty. If people need more hp and torque, then they need to buy a diesel - or better yet, get an 18-wheeler.

    Questions: This truck looks great and would love to have one, but how reliable is it ? How would do after three years of use, would it be like the rest of F-150s often visiting a shop ? Is it as reliable as a TOYOTA Truck, which last almost forever ? Thank you!

    • @mechmat12345
      @mechmat12345 4 роки тому +1

      Sounds like you've made up your mind with anecdotal bullshit. Reliability of all US trucks are about the same, Toyotas are only slightly better. You can find people out there with million mile F150s just as easily at Tundras. People tend to break their Raptors more often because they drive the shit out of them, but they're not less reliable than anything else out there. A Tundra would fall apart running 80mph through the desert but you'd crack a couple vertebrae before you got going that fast anyway.

      My Shox leaked just past 36 mths, replaced with fox 3,0 , one of those was leaking at 70k when traded. All where on the front, and they're not cheap ,, I don't abuse my trucks, just crappy Shox .🇺🇸

    • @mechmat12345
      @mechmat12345 4 роки тому

      The shocks aren't bad, they're slightly downgraded race shocks. Race shocks need maintenance. You'll have the same maintenance with Fox, King, Icon, Radflo, etc, etc. Fox recommends rebuilds every 10,000 miles if you race, every 40,000 miles if you drive 100% on the street. King is exactly the same, BTW. Most people don't do either though, they complain when they leak/fail. These shocks will actually last virtually forever if you rebuild them properly. Tradition gas actually only have a recommended life of 60-80,000 miles, then they're supposed to go in the trash. People just don't notice their shocks suck at 100,000 miles because the change is gradual.

    I very much do not like the LED taillights on this generation of Ford pickup. The running lights are too dim. Every time I'm tailing an F150 with the LED taillights, I'm always wondering if the truck has the lights turned on. They're as bright as reflectors. That's the only REAL issue i have with these trucks. If I were to buy a Raptor, I would opt for the incandescent taillight assemblies strictly for visibility/safety purposes. Addendum: Only mistake made was no optional S/C 5.0. But, I'm a little biased, because my first machine was a 5.0L powered F150 from the same year I was born. TBH, that ecoboost engine is fantastic, and shouldn't be getting the flak that it's been getting.

    I don't think the Raptor R will ever come out because if Ford puts the Raptor R into to production i think it will be a special edition or a 1 year production car like the ram trx igintion and the Durango hellcat because of emissions rules
    second thing is electricity Ford is already about to put the ford f150 lighting into production to go against the tesla cyberturck,GMC hummer ev, upcoming all electric silverado, and probably the all electric Ram 1500.
    third is air if ford puts the same engine from the gt500 don't expect it to have 760 HP because like the Ram Trx and the Jeep wrangler 392. Ford will have to create a powerful liquid cooler to cool the engine or put a hood scope but the hood scope will to be modified so water and sand don't come into the engine and damage it like how Ram and Jeep.
