Great song that expresses the angst of young adulthood. Groundbreaking.

Just became a subscriber to your channel. I love your reactions. I'm 71 years old and until 1969 I didn't know about metal music. My parents always listened to country music and my older sister listened to soft rock. Then when I started as a freshman in high school I became friends with a guy who invited me to stay a weekend with him. The first thing he did was to put a Led Zeppelin album on his stereo. This was the first time I had ever heard any kind of heavy rock. The next album we listened to was Black Sabbath. I was instantly hooked. Now I'm a metalhead and will be until I'm six feet under. I have two songs picked out that I have made my son promise to play at my funeral. One is Freebird by Lynyrd Skynyrd. The second is Funeral For A friend/Love Lies Bleeding by Elton John. I want to go out of this world rocking out. One suggestion I have for you is please don't pause during a guitar solo. Other than that you guys are great.❤❤

The music is by the great guitarist Tony iommi (eye-OWE-me). The lyrics are by the great bass player, Geezer (Terry) Butler. The drummer is Bill Ward, and the singer is Ozzy (John) Osbourne. This is from 1970. No one was doing anything like this back then. They were from the industrial city of Birmingham, England.

Great song which takes me back to my youth! It's a common thing for the music to be upbeat while the lyrics are dark and it can leave you feeling conflicted although some people just listen to the music and ignore the lyrics which means they only get half the experience. One of my favourite examples of this is 'No surprises' by Radiohead, the video is great too. Cheers

Black Sabbath are 1/3 of the rock triad back in the late 60's early 70's....The other 2 ? Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple

Brings back memories of my teenage years before moving on to more technical stuff Genesis, Pink Floyd, Dire Straits and Supertramp. Most of the best bands are British.

I consider this kind of a precursor to punk music in many ways.

Ashley has good taste, but it's a headbanger not a bop song. 😊

Keep in mind you guys are listening to really bad cuts...as in sound recordings. We had the albums ( for as long as they would last...someone tried to start it over, niddle dug in big scratch, someone never put the cover back on thus a beer ring, ash...ect. ) You need a good album, or remastered cut...and headphones...and turn it up....
