Ozzy always had a way of surrounding himself with the best musicians. Tony Iommi was the guitarist in Sabbath, then when Ozzy went on his own, there was Randy Rhoads, Jake E Lee, and Zakk Wylde, all masters. If you want some more Sabbath, try Iron Man, Children of the Grave, or Sabbath Bloody Sabbath. But you should definitely check out some solo Ozzy: Crazy Train, Mr. Crowley, and Revelations Mother Earth are great ones to start with. Cheers!

The album came up short on time and needed another song to fill it out. Geezer and Ozzy went in the corner and wrote this and then they recorded it. Not like today with a dozen producers and record label people telling an artist what to write and how to sing it.

My pop raised me on vinyls... he had about 1,300 in his collection, so these songs, stories & rhythms are all ingrained into my soul. I'm kinda jealous that you are getting to dig into all this stuff with fresh ears, mind & heart: doorways upon doorways concealing treasure troves of gems await you :-) I love "Fairies Wear Boots' but my most favorite from Black Sabbath is 'the Wizard' .... lots of folks have done reactions to it, but it's still my most favorite jam from Sabbath. It makes me feel like I could slice unscathed straight through a city block throwing down in the middle of a revolution like a hot knife through butter OR emanate light to heal the world, depending... it's got gritty magic that moves me. Meanwhile, born in '77 on the outskirts of Philly, I'm a hiphop head too: in the spirit of reciprocation, I hope you share some of your favorites with us. I would love to know your top five

Black Sabbath is incredible. Lots of great music to check out there. It should be noted if youre not aware, Ozzy did eventually leave Black Sabbath and started his own solo career after which has its own slew of amazing music. Black Sabbath also eventually moved on with various other singers at the helm, most notably Ronnie James Dio. So Ozzy and Sabbath have a very storied history and lots of fantastic music for you to dig into. Highly recommend. Glad you like it so far! Rock on bud!

Paranoid is Awesome album. Perhaps the first real metal album and arguably the greatest. Ozzy eventally was kicked out of the band because he was always drunk, crazy (bit head off live bat on stage), abusive and unreliable. His wife helped him build a solo career and did some great stuff like Crazy Train which has an iconic intro used in professional sports all the time. Definitely react to that song. My second favorite metal song behind War Pigs.

Huge request: Would you please react to the live version of “War Pigs,” Paris 1970. Trust me when I say you can treat it as a separate but equal experience alongside the studio version.
My man, you NEED to see Black Sabbath in this video at their craft. Each individual member and their rendition of this song as a whole. The musicianship is off the charts. Oh, and Bill Ward’s drum playing is a on another level, banging and brutal! . . . trust me, your mind will be blown.
The video and audio quality are great, the music is tough and direct. But those drums, guitar, the driving bass and Ozzy’s swagger are something to behold.
