The sadness in her eyes were very evident. She may smile and laugh, but the sadness was there. She had a very difficult childhood and her adult life was not very great either. This life was not generous with her.
Her exceptional journalism was suggested to me through yt algorithms, and honestly as a Moroccan from North Africa, I'm struck by her level of professionalism and otherworldly elegance!
The class, sophistication and soul searching in this interview is almost unbelievable. It flowed like a poem composed out of melancholy and bittersweet memories, yet it's strangely healing and heartwarming. It's a standard for how a candid interview should flow.
You guys want Rekha to be a tragic tale so bad but she’s clearly not. She’s made the decisions for her life that SHE felt were right for HER. She’s still here, she’s still beautiful and she’s still living life on her own terms
Rendezvous is more than just a conversation. It is about soul speaking, soul searching and soul revealing in a raw yet real tapestry of words. Rekha's journey is magical and mystical, beyond simple comprehension. It requires a whole range of emotions and experience to understand her as an artist and a woman. Thank you, Simi Ma'am, for encouraging your guests to embark on their nostalgic, cathartic journeys
Rekha's mother tongue was Telugu. She learned english in school which she attended till just class 9th. And then she learned both Hindi, Urdu and Tamil which is a lot !!! She became so fluent in Hindi by herself that she dubbed many South Indian actresses including Sridevi.
She is a complete woman. Strong , wants to give lots of love to someone worthy , has a heart filled with secrets , pain , love . I am not a fan but I respect her very much. That father of her tried his best to screw her up for good......but she fought it. Respect ma'am ❤️
Parents are not always generous. Whether in Rekha's life or in mine, all the miseries were rooted by parents themselves. Old people sent to old age home are paying the price for their own negligence. I truly wish if someone make a film on this topic which could make the society understand that it is not always the children who are responsible for these types of situations. If people are not capable, they should not get married, at least this can prevent the damages happening to faultless and innocent children. Gone are the days when honesty was an asset and today people are bullied, harassed and even assassinated for being honest. It is evident from my case that I was getting beaten during my childhood for being honest and today mentally harassed. May God shower some mercy upon unlucky children like us.

I had come across this show a while ago and the first episode I watched was the interview with Benazir Bhutto. I was really mesmerized by the host’s way of conducting the interview. She is definitely one of a kind and if a classy, dignified and sophisticated show like this were to be aired on TV in today’s date, I would definitely start watching TV again. The aura of the host is really captivating. God bless. Love listening to these interviews.
I love her sadness and her inside cry. It seems that she was treated very badly in her early days. She is so elegant now and I wish her a better life with happiness.
I have watched this interview so many times, and it always breaks my heart watching Rekha mention her desires of being loved, having a family, children and husband. Things that are taken for granted by many people are things of desire for others. I really wished she actually could fulfil that dreams of hers.
Koffee with karan is a cheap remake of this show with guests also talking non sense and host also asking double meaning cheap questions. This show atleast people talked. Koffee with karan is more about demeaning other film actors and non sensical games. You should have another season. Good luck.
She is good at hiding her feelings. Very very good. Simi really tried hard to pinch her to let her reveal the real rekha but rekha was just too smart. I have always lived this show, but rekha dodged simi, absolutely. Otherwise simi is very skilled host.
Perhaps the transparency in her thoughts makes her so different from any other actresses of her age. She is gorgeously intelligent in her own way. Lot to learn from such personality. 🙏
I think Rekha is one of the most gorgeous women in the world. In fact, I think she just gets more beautiful with age. BUT I also think she has a lack of a loving male presence in her life that has affected her permanently and made her very defensive. And I also think her difficult childhood has made her quite cold, and emotionally guarded. You can tell she does not enjoy talking about her childhood because she has compartmentalized it. Unfortunately I can relate to this insecurity. I was raised without the love of a father and forced to grow up fast, and it has made me quite distrustful and Machiavellian and guarded, especially around men. When she said 'I was too shy to open my mouth when there was male company' I can totally relate to that. When I look at Rehka I can see the knowing in her eyes, but I think its to mask the look of vulnerability. And it is something I can relate to. We are damaged by a lack of a loving father and vulnerable, we have had to develop a hard shell. And we are looking for the loving indulgent father figure we never had. Rekha has decided it's better to be alone and in love with the 'fantasy' male figure than risk being hurt again. When she says she has healed, I really think she has just hardened herself.
Can any one tell me how Rekha has an elder brother and a younger brother and how Her mother had 6 children ? I am confused. Why every one blame only Gemini ?
Anything filled with romance is not easy, wow!.... You can clearly see she's reciting what she learned from her mother but also her personal experiences.
I would describe her love as Goddess Radha. Krishna was married but Radha never stopped loving him...very pure love! I solute you Rekhaji! very brave to come out & open your heart to world...my inspiration!

It sounds like secrets...but see her age and experience...as a grown up she understands how complicated relationships nd emotions can be...her age and experience have helped reason out why things happened and she just chose to accept situations just as it is rather than finding cause nd blame.

Her English is so updated and the accent is amazing for that era. And she is gorgeous and elegant 😭🫶🏻❤️
I have lost the count of how many times I have watched this particular rendezvous with The Rekha.
She is someone who is beyond explainable, a true diva, a woman of substance!
Thank you Simiji for making her comfortable and took so much out of her heart. She has never poured her heart out like this before.
What a beautiful conversation between two elegant and gracious women.

Still this woman is a true classy, sophisticated & most interesting intellectual person I seen on a interview I truly admire this beauty.

Rekha's mother tongue was Telugu. She learned english in school which she attended till just class 9th. And then she learned both Hindi, Urdu and Tamil which is a lot !!!
She became so fluent in Hindi by herself that she dubbed many South Indian actresses including Sridevi.
Her father is a Tamilian

So many uncomfortable questions, so gracefully asked and answered. Such were the interviews in those days. Wohoo 👌
Rekha was asked about her professional and personal relationship with Amitji and I felt she played with a straight bat. Why was Amitji not posed with any question pertaining to his leading ladies? Was it because he has a family to answer and is very active in public life?

I have watched this interview so many times, and it always breaks my heart watching Rekha mention her desires of being loved, having a family, children and husband. Things that are taken for granted by many people are things of desire for others. I really wished she actually could fulfil that dreams of hers.

two gracious ladies defying age...what a Rendezvous!!! One of its kind.
When she says she has healed, I really think she has just hardened herself.
very true.....
God bless you
I lost my father when I was nine yes old..same insecurity still I feel
It's BOTOX..... 🤣 AND She sure will not age for at least a few years 😜

When I was a teenager [1970s] in Bandra, I would see her often, early am, on my way to school [St Theresa's HS] where she had a family member that she was dropping off in her white chauffeured Premier Padmini. Even though I was always in uniform [grey half-pants, white shirt and clip-on tie] - I swear she checked me out and smiled at me.

This remains by far the most comprehensive interview ever on the ULTIMATE DIVA and I believe it will always remain. I just like to see her work and work and work. Nothing but good health and lots of love to you Rekha Mam.
Equally for Smt. Simi Garewal who will in perpetuity have a feather on her cap which perhaps no other may ever get for such an insight interview on the ULTIMATE DIVA.
Before koffee with karan crap there was class
How can someone look not only beautiful but this hot at this age?? I mean she's the definition of timeless beauty.
People like to dismiss it by crediting the makeup behind her beauty which is ridiculous because it's almost impossible for any other person to look this stunning even with all that makeup, dress and jewellery in that age. They might look just good but in case of Rekha, it's different. Only she can pull it off with grace. Great genetics I must say!!
@Queen of Swords I differ. I've seen a woman in her 70s get the love of her life! I am an eyewitness to this scenario.

I'm suprised how honest she is and well spoken but she has a sadness to her
Rekha's an absolute sweetheart. Fact she mentored Sridevi and was so watchful and genuine, makes her golden
Whenever I watch her interviews I feel life and god can be unfair . You can get everything except what you exactly needed and wished. She is a ocean of tragedy and sorrow, yet she is a successful women 💕

Rekhas such a beautiful human being inside and out..with so much hurt and pain she went through not only in her love life but even as a kid....shes so positive about everything and everyone...not everyone has the courage to hold themselves together after going through so much in life.
Her relationships failed because she never had a relationship with her father. Healthy relationship always begins with parents first
Such a complete passionate woman with so many unfulfilled wishes yet. Life was so unfair to Rekha. She deserved her own man and home so much.
After listening this lovely talk, I feel that, Rekha's life is a pure running river, and today I got a drop out of it to make my life beautiful. Although, I felt like, at times, she talked very cleverly, but Simmi being a great interviewer, made her to answer openly.
It's crazy because I wanted the same thing to be married, with a man who truly loved me for me, and to have a lot of kids. We are born around the same birthday too.
My gosh how she still able to look so drop dead georgeous
OMG the film industry (Bollywood or Hollywood) used to be super hard on women and GIRLS!!! I think nowadays it's not as horrible, but in Rekha's time or Marylin's time, one can imagine how hard it was...
