Jinjer is a very special and unique band. They are in a league of their own and have developed their own genre IMO. I'm a 50 + year old rock musician and since '18 Jinjer is my favorite band from this century. I saw and met Jinjer in '19 on their first US headlining tour. I took my 20 + year old daughter. Jinjer are among the best live bands I've ever seen. 🤘 💙💛

agreed... i haven't had a favorite band since soad, deftones, korn, tool, nirvana metallica, prodigy... so as you can tell 2000 or so...it's been 2 decades... then jinjer came along

The only problem is there there are no other bands to join Jinjer in the genre. It will probably die with them quitting.

Dude, I'm a 60 yo punk/metal drummer and can't agree more. This is the most excited I've been for a unique sound since Mr Bungle in '89. Everything about them and their writing is ecstatic, raw, beautiful and interesting. Fascinating band.

    For part 3 I suggest :
    - Who is gonna be the one official live (if you want to hear some of her lower growls)
    - Judgment (& Punisment)
    - Pit Of Consciousness
Glad you enjoy their music! They are all incredible musician! 🤘

Good choice. I just add few details for better pick:
      - Judgment (& Punisment) - one take vocal performance by Tatiana (way better then OMV)
      - Pit Of Consciousness - live in Kiev (a bit better then OMV)
Actually the band has approx. 20+ "must hear/see" songs. So you can make another 4-5 attempts for Jinjer easily :)
It's a band with a 10+ years history so you can even pick the songs from their different periods.
You didn't hear oldschool Jinjer yet, it's different but pretty dope. Tatiana as a tomboy with dreadlocks all the way :)

They're all safe now, Tatiana was in America when the invasion began, the boys managed to leave the Ukraine, due to being musical ambassadors. A great reaction, thank you, Jami. You must do, 'Judgement (Punishment)' Tatiana's one-take vocal version, 'On The Top' and/or 'Pit Of Consciousness' both live in Kiev, 'Call Me a Symbol' the official video, for an older track, I suggest 'Sit Stay Roll Over' the official video, this is the track which first got them noticed by Napalm Records. By the way 'Pisces' is said 'Pie Cees', I hope that this helps.

    4. “Retrospection” (OMV)
    5. "Outlander" (failure. color)
    6. "Words of Wisdom" (Live, Napalm records)
    7. "Pit of Consciousness" live at Kyiv or the OMV

This is poetry of youth, this is poetry of me and you!
As Tatiana said life is poetry, her music is a poem, the band is top, words cannot express more. So does Courtney LaPlante from Spiritbox such a good dual voice singer. As life mixes good and evil often so does this talented musicians. Respect for them and many more like them!

    2) Wallflowers (great title song on the last album great story behind that one.)

Home Back was about the Russian invasion of the Donbass region of Ukraine. So I'd say it hits just as it was supposed to hit in 2019. They are still homeless, as many ukrainians are. The aggressor is the same, the war today is merely a continuation of what Home Back was about

It's been a while since I listened to I Speak Astronomy, such a good song. I like the metaphors in the lyrics. I'm pretty sure it's about her looking for love, and the lines "Why are you so suspicious when you see black holes in my eyes?" and "Don't discontinue this expedition when stuck upon event horizon of my eyes" is so cool. It's the idea of looking into someone's eyes and being so drawn to them that it's scary, and she's asking you not to leave her.
And your reaction to that singing at the end of the song is so correct. What a voice.

It is always such a joy seeing people discover something exceptional! At least because it just does not happen so often) And you know what is as exceptional as this band - Devin Townsend. His range and vocals sometimes blast away, like literally. Also has such a personality, that makes him stand out as a showman) Don't know how many comments you got about reacting to him, but usually they go along with the comments on jinjer cause of the same wow-effect. So, if I got your attention right, there are 2 songs - "Kingdom" (performed for EMGtv) and "Deadhead" (also live, at Albert Hall, absolutely beautiful performance, but listen to the "Kingdom" first, just an advice))

You say this isn't music you ever would have pursued listening to, and I soooo get that. I'm a lot older than you and have found that I love music from virtually every imaginable genre, and yet something in me gave metal a miss generally speaking. But there is a well- known reactor that kept popping into my feed with Jinjer, and after months I finally said fine, let's see.
And it's crazy to me, and my friends think I've lost it, but they are my favourite band. Especially after they released the Wallflowers album. Go figure. (I especially love when metal elitists claim they're not "worthy" - maybe that's part of the answer.)

I wanted to watch this earlier but I’ve beed slowly getting into this band and I hadn’t gotten into these three songs. After seeing them in concert back in December, I really enjoy them.
-What I didn’t enjoy about “I Speak Astronomy” is pretty much what I’ve figured about them. They’re like Queen. There’s the obvious about an amazing lead singer. However, while Jinjer is labeled as a Metal band, they utilize elements of so many different styles. That last line is just amazing.
-“Perennial” is epic and this performance is as close to flawless as you can get. It’s topic is quite dark but there’s an incredible beauty in it.
-The beginning of “Home Back” reminded me of Primus. I could imagine Les Claypool here.
-I grew up listening to Metal but, while I still liked the stuff I listened to, started listening to more Rock from the 80’sand not all that interested in the modern scene. So, I kinda get what you’re talking about when saying that this isn’t exactly your type of music. I think I would’ve passed these guys over if it wasn’t for reaction videos.
-I’m still taking them in. However, some suggestions off of what I’ve taken in would be:
*Bad Water(While I loved “Pisces”, this was the song that made me a fan of the group. I heard it and said,”I get it.” Specifically, check out the official live video that Napalm Records released.)
*Waltz(The first song off of the 1st album with Tatiana.)
*Sit Stay Roll Over(This is full-on Metal.)

Outlander (their younger days, and so full of energy)(Best Ukrainian band contest)
Cloud Factory (the OMV is of their earlier days, the live version is of them having matured musically)
    Just Another (live)
    Part IV-
Ape (One of the best if not the best Jinjer song, it bounces in my top 3 with Cloud Factory and Outlander)
Vortex (she gets so low it sounds as if she is trying to imitate the sounds of the bass strings slapping the fretboard on Eugene's guitar)
Beggar's Dance (You are going to love this one. They took the hook lines from all the songs on the album, mashed them up into a song, and then put those new lyrics to a Jazz beat complete with Jazz style vocals)

My favorite comment of yours: "I need to lay down" - haha - I felt the same way the first time, after that break, when she goes into the "high belt" ending. WOW!!

I feel like the band members themselves don´t get as much appreiciation as needed. They are just fenomanal. Without any of them, there would be no Jinjer. It´s a match made in heaven. Thank you for doinng this Jami.

great reaction and yes Tati is a Goddess the entire band is phenominal please react to some of the songs that get overlooked by other reaction channels like "when two empires collide" the lyrics video ua-cam.com/video/e4oZU2RpVRM/v-deo.html "Bad Water" ua-cam.com/video/uyByj5F9ZjQ/v-deo.html "a plus or a minus" OLV ua-cam.com/video/AnGts_xePuE/v-deo.html jinjer lyric videos open up a whole new dimention to this already great band Tati is a phenominal songwriter on top of all her other talents...

Considering that she prefers the extreme vocals, Tatiana's cleans are spot-on.... powerful E5s for days! & she has so many choices of texture & timbre she can go with. I'm sure there are plenty pop artists who would be happy to have her clean vocals, & yet her extremes are next-level too. #AnnoyinglyTalented LOL :)

My suggestions, if I may would be " Outlander," live, "Cloud factory" live, "Who is gona be the one" live, "Pit of Consiousness",(live in Kiev or official video, equaly brilliant in their own ways) etc, etc, etc, I have been into more frumpy classical type music for decades but Jinger have opened me up to more contemporary music again. Loving it. It's great to feel that you are sharing in the pleasure...Thank you. Love the stomp at 11:43 by the way....

Yes, I've been waiting on part 2! The more you watch the more amazing they are. The guys (Roman, Eugene & Vlad) are next level and as you mentioned Tati is a goddess. I've been listening to them for over 2 years, and I am still amazed at how great they are. More live for part #3, maybe "Pit of Consciousness" live in Kiev, and "Captain Clock" at Resurrection Fest. Also she has a one take vocal performance for "Judgment (& Punisment)" that's really cool!

Maybe you'd enjoy the extreme ends of Tatiana's vocals. The "Cloud Factory" video (seriously aggressive vocals) and "Wallflower". (some of her most vulnerable vocals and lyrics. Very personal.) Can't go wrong in the Jinjer rabbit hole!👍

looking beautiful and killing it.....Tati is so fantastic as well as Eugene Roman & Vlad. Consider taking three songs from the same album and rotate. This band constantly is improving, even Tatiana who I totally adore and respect as the G.O.A.T. Love Jinjer- keep it coming. Check out Spiritbox sometime in the near future. They have a more pop/punk vibe but are very interesting. Circle With Me, Rotoscope & Hysteria would be a cool three song set to get your feet wet, but never let up on Jinjer, they really have never put a single bad song out.

I'm loving all your Jinjer reactions. The way you're reacting is exactly how I felt when listening to them for the first time and still to this day! Tatiana and the rest of the band are so talented. I was lucky enough to see them in concert twice and they are so amazing live. Welcome to the Jinjer family!❤️

Best sustained note in the history of music 4:26 - 4:36!!! Sonic perfection. I feel sorry for all the lemmings out there wasting their acoustic synapses on rap, pop and all the recycled plastic garbage that passes for music. Check out Twelve Foot Ninja's 'Over and Out' video in which Tatiana contributes vocally and visually to this awesome track by an equally awesome band. Jinjer and TFN rule!!!

Maybe consider "Just Another" on a list. Not hearing enough people mention it and she was brilliant on this song, and you can tell it hits hard for her in the video. I think you'll enjoy it! 👌
