Been a Mimic owner for about 5 years (even helped create a library update, which was a lot of fun) and I would like to say I am impressed with this Module. It's not making me want to change my set up, but I would like to say hats off to Alesis here, they've made a great module. And if the reports of more expansion packs come to fruition, that can only be to the credit of their commitment to making this a really great addition to the e-drum market.
I've been playing Roland V-Drums since the TD-10 back in '97 and have stuck with V-Drums ever since. Wouldn't call myself a Roland fanboy, but I have certainly invested heavily in them over the years. Roland quality has always struck me as top-tier, and Alesis has never impressed me - especially in terms of quality. However, this new kit looks like they may have finally shown up for game day. Will reserve final judgment until I can actually sit down behind the kit, but from what I'm seeing and hearing from pro's that I respect, looks like the real deal.
Great looking module with lots of sounds…except they forgot to include blue tooth audio. Come on Alesis! And no cross stick sound
Questions! Does this have separate audio outs for each piece of the kit? Does it have standard in/out Midi via cables (not bluetooth)? Thx! This sounds awesome, might be my new E kit!!
Sounds so good!!! So much better sounding than the Mimic. Actually sounds like "DRUMS" whoa thunk!
What’s going on with your channel? I haven’t seen any action in a few years 😂
If we all be truthful, we know what we heard, we will ofto use the factory drums as an template to work from, then create our own, its mandatory to change the instruments, hopefully the module have enough samples to create something from so we don't ofto go buy, easy drummer software, el estepario siberiano gives his opinion stating that this is the best out there right now, iam feeing a bit better about it because of his experience with it, I would love to see this drum on display at guitar centre, or same ash to get my own experience, right now iam getting great sound out of my alesis strike pro, with a blind fold on I could trick anyone to believe, they are listening to an acoustic....
Sounds like the Strike Pro SE
I have the crimson II and I can also say that it sounds the same. Probably same samples just a different module.
Next video : All talking, No playing
After the dust settles the sounds, IMO, aren't a big step up from the Strike Pro, which is not to say they aren't pretty good. Also many of the kits are too dry and unnatural sounding. Of course you can add reverb and room to your liking.
positional sensing?
Does not have it
@@arsonnedoes it def need it?
@@williamperri3437 It's not a deal breaker for me personally. I don't even know that Superior Drummer and some other programs support it? The module sounds better than any Roland no matter what features it has. I'm more concerned with the long term durability and the super wobbly hi-hat.
@@arsonne Superior Drummer does, but I think it requires extra setup for each pad since they likely don't have presets for this new kit yet.
Hopefully the hi hat is better.
Build quality remains to be seen ,alesis stuff has a horrible track record for breakdowns
What are all the Roland fanboyz gonna do now??
Simple. Keep playing Roland vs aleshits.
Roland owner here. Still think the Efnote 7 has the best sounds. I went Roland due to proven reliability and service.
Hey if you like the Roland processed sounds you do you…VST’s are in a whole new level that the run of the mill modules do not compare to. This new Alesis module is next level and has made a fan boy out of me!
Keep playing my TD50X
@@_xPaPaDx You mean keep triggering software because the module sounds are shit.
Good, but nothing like Roland
Yeah, nothing like machine gun Roland
@@ARGProjectsmy Roland doesn’t machine gun. Efnote 7 still has the best sounds (aside from superior drummer 3)
Let's be real. Roland has great hardware, but their sound library is ass.
@@sampilsbury9415 Yes, your Roland does machine gun, every Roland module machine guns. I've owned most of them. It's not the end of the world and some kits are worse than others. EFnote also machine guns, but have decent sounds. This New Alesis kit has the best sounds ever to come from a drum module.

Unfortunately no matter what kit, until round robin samples become standard, we’re going to face that issue
