New Car Tent! | Subaru Forester Camping Set Up

- In this video I'm camping at Dungeness Spit Recreation area on the Olympic Peninsula of Washington. While I take in the incredible coastal sites of the PNW, I'm also testing out a new car tent for my Subaru Forester Car Camping set up. This tent in called the Kelty Backroads and I gambled on the $70 price tag to see if it is something that will extend my living space in severe weather while living the road life.

Christine, I'm finally glad you made it to my home state of Washington. You might also want to check out the Olympic peninsula, While you're here and even go around the loop as they call it.

If you want to leave the back hatch open you need to snap a carabiner into the latch or your battery will drain. There are videos on it.

Cool car tent. Since you are working out of a car, I think it is a good idea if it is raining and you need to cook something. Nice job on the video of the location.

It's been a while since seeing your channel. I have the Kelty Awning and the day I put it up attached to my cargo glamper it got a full prolonged assault from vicious winds. Wind gusts over 50 during an unforecast storm. Despite damage to three of the pole sections the awning is still performing nicely. I tape wrapped the damaged pole sections and placed tape over a cut in the fabric. It continues to perform like new. I will buy other Kelty tent products in the future. No, I'm not a pitch man for Kelty, but from experience I'm very impressed with their products.
