    Thanks for the review! Once the hasika is set up can you have the option to close the tailgate as well as have it open with the mesh? Just thinking if it gets cold might want to shut it.

      You are welcome! If you close the hatch, it could mess the set up a bit. You could pull it off in a matter of minutes. Also, the tent does zip up. The mesh screen that you can see in the video is a window and zips up with tent fabric. Once you zip up that screen, it should stay fairly warm inside. Cheers.

    My husband and I have the Napier SUV tent that attaches to the trunk of our van, but also can be a freestanding 4(ish) person tent. However, it definitely takes 2 people to set up, and I've been looking for something simple for when I camp alone in my car or when we want a quick car camp setup. I bought a cheap one from TEMU, and it was definitely a case of "you get what you pay for". Returning that one for sure. This seems like a great alternative, thank you for the video detailing setup and your review!

    Very detailed. Is it possible to close the rear tailgate even if the tent is installed?

      Good question! I think that it would mess up the way it is set up. The magnets could move and the lines that latch onto to the wheels could move. I am going to try it. However, I really don't think it was designed to enable the tailgate to open and close during use. The good news is that it does not take long to set up. Cheers

      Yes, indeed, if you think about it, the door makes it hold it all firmly.
      Thank you for your reply.

      I closed the tailgate when sleeping as it was freezing at night. Obviously the set-up is messed up but I had no problem closing the tailgate

    How are you finding the tent 7 months on? I am going to do a long car camping trip in Europe and have to get a friend to bring a tailgate tent to me from the US. Still holding up and worth the purchase?

    • @DBExplorer1
      @DBExplorer1  Місяць тому

      Yes, still holding up fine. It can get cold at night with the tailgate open. Cheers

    How do you think it would work with a ute ?

    • @DBExplorer1
      @DBExplorer1  19 днів тому

      Hard to tell. It doesn’t have a floor for the bed of the truck. There may be a ute tent that would be a better fit.

    you mentioned use carabiner to avoid draining the interior light, could you esplain how to do it?

    • @DBExplorer1
      @DBExplorer1  4 місяці тому +1

      On many vehicles, there is a latch on the hatchback which activates the interior light when the hatchback is open. You put the carabiner in the latch area and this fools the vehicle into thinking that the hatchback is closed. When you lift the hatchback/rear door, look up and you will see the area that I am referring to. It is also part of the lock mechanism. Hope that makes sense.

    Are you able to close the boot while the tent is set up? thinking of a emergency like extreme cold or bears

    • @DBExplorer1
      @DBExplorer1  5 місяців тому

      Hello, yes you can but it will mess up the setup a bit. I would just pull it off the hatch, remove the magnets and close it. You could do that in less than a few minutes. Cheers

    Trouble setting up this Hasika suv tent. Need better set up instructions

    • @DBExplorer1
      @DBExplorer1  5 місяців тому +1

      Hi Yvonne, drape the tent over the back of your tailgate, with the screen door facing you and the Hasika lettering at the bottom of the tent. It really is simple. Let me know what you are struggling with. Cheers

      You could try Amazon, hardware store or dollar store. In good conditions, the magnets that came with it were fine. Cheers
