    A very good explanation of the use of a dry lot - Thank you! I would add that dry lots can also be extremely useful for minimising pasture stress as can HayHuts providing constant access to hay year round to prevent horses rooting and digging. Dry lot is certainly an excellent application for the HayHut as you well demonstrate here! Your wife got a really good deal on that hut btw - well done!

    50 gallons of water a day for those horses, dang

      We have an automatic waterer in the top pasture that is even heated! So no watering or dealing with freezing temps if the horses are in that pasture. Up front though- got to use two very long hoses, and when the hoses freeze, it is not fun! Have to tote water by hand then!
