    I love this! I recently fell in love with mules and think they suit my personality. Your videos make it seem like being able to have them in the future is something in my capabilities.

    I have Priefert panels (also Texas company), but has required me to use a dealer & pick them up. I've been wanting more panels. I'll look into what you mention because of the shipping option. The Prieferts don't need posts, as hook together. But... I don't have mules. You did a good job! Safe, secure, happy.

      Awesome! These ones are designed to chain together, but we didn’t trust them lol we didn’t have a skid steer to unload them, so renting one was a little added hassle, but it was nice to have for digging holes anyway 😊

    I’m not sure but I think railroad ties may be toxic because they have creosote. Hopefully your nice mules aren’t chewing on them. Thanks for the video, the place looks great. Love that high dry Idaho climate.

    • @MTN_BUILT
      @MTN_BUILT  Рік тому +1

      I think you're right about the ties... they're so nasty that the mules haven't chewed on them at all... at least not yet lol Thanks for taking time to watch and leave a comment! We're having a blast fixing up our new place :)

    Your place is looking great. Where does your buckskin/dun mule get the stripes on the legs?

    • @MTN_BUILT
      @MTN_BUILT  Рік тому +2

      Thank you so much!! We’re having a blast getting it set up 😊
      The stripes come from the dun gene which is present in donkeys and some horses. We’re guessing her momma was a Dun since her striping is so pronounced 😊

    Great video guys! If you don’t mind answering I’m curious how much land you guys are working with to keep your miles on. And the dimensions of the dry lot. I apologize in advance if I missed it in the video. Keep up the good work!

      @MTN_BUILT  Рік тому +2

      Thanks so much for the kind words! 😊 We just have 2.5 acres and the dry lot is roughly 40 ft by 150 feet. Just big enough so they can run and mess around in there. 😊

      @@MTN_BUILT thanks for the info. My wife and I have roughly half an acre for a lot and was hoping we could keep two horses there if we fed hay of course. We live in Tennessee so we get over 50 inches of rain every year so mud would be a problem I’m sure 😂 keep up the great job on the excellent content

    • @MTN_BUILT
      @MTN_BUILT  Рік тому +2

      @@mikenorris232 oh nice! We actually have a .44 acre lot that we’re thinking of putting corrals on. It would be tight, but I definitely think it would be doable. But yeah, mud would be a rough one with that much rain! Lol

    I'm glad I just found your channel. Man that striped mule is flashy! If you don't mind my asking, how big is that dry lot? Are those 10' panels? Thanks

      Thanks for checking out our videos, and thanks for the kind words about Reata, our striped mule! We absolutely love her ❤️
      The Panels are 12 feet long by 6 feet high and the whole dry lot is right at 5,200 feet.
      Don’t hesitate to ask if you have any other questions 😊

      I loved watching your video! You give me hope. I have a 2.3 acre property that I would love to bring my gelding on and get him a mini friend. I've been told it isn't enough pasture, but I've been researching otherwise.

      @@emilyannsteinbach3716 Awesome! Thank you for the kind words! And yeah, I would sure think you could make it work. We do buy hay for the winter and spring months, but they do great on the pasture through the summer and into the fall. I hope you can get him and a buddy on your property soon!! 😊
