seen some big bands in my time, don't care what anyone says - the hip were the best band I've ever seen, first hip gig was at bradford university england in february 1993, I'm so so sad that I'll never get to see them again, best band on the planet
That concert was incredibly hot! My wife couldn't take it and went outside. She heard the doormen talking that Gord wanted the air conditioning turned off. It got HOT! The McCormack guy from Will & Grace was there in a leather jacket - he must have cooked! Great concert in a small venue!
Well, this an old comment for sure but, I couldn't resist. They played our Christmas party at the place I worked here in Kingston way, way back at the beginning. A time to remember and cherish.
Saw The Hip live many times. This was one of my favorite shows. Gord was in full effect, the jumping from speaker to speaker, the apeman, the handkerchiefs, the stuff he could do with a mic stand...what a night.
Saw them outdoors at a speedway. about 10'000 people. When blowing high dough started. The line "Out at the speedway" place went nuts it was unbelievable how loud the noise got.great live show
Wow, this might be the most epic version of this song I've ever seen. I saw them in San Francisco at the Fillmore a couple days after the Troubadour shows, and they were brilliant as always. "Grace, Too" is always such an incredible song to hear live, especially when Robby rips it up during the extended outro. Amazing.
I love that 'Unreal' at the end. And it is unreal, to have seen them in 2009 in a club that small. Reminds me of the first time I saw them at a similar sized campus pub in 1989!
How do you get every Canadian in L.A. into one Room??? R.I.P. Gord , you were the best and you(and the hip)should have been much more recognized but something tells me you all liked it better that way!!!
What was this video shot with back in 2009? A DSLR? Certainly not an iPhone 3G. Good video. Makes me wish I could have been there. Not a single bad standing spot in the house.
It was dubbed that as towards the end of the song gourd uses his Mike stand and pretends to be driving a motorcycle off the stage and flashes the peace sign like Captain America in easy rider the movie.
Gord was the 'Marlon Brando' of Rock N Roll. The Gordfather.
Fay has to be one of the most underrated drummers......guy is solid!
We miss our hero ❤🇨🇦❤️😢
Indeed we do! I'm glad that I recorded this show in particular so it will live on!!! ♥♥♥
@@DylanMattina thank you for posting ♥️🇨🇦♥️
Awesome. The tiny clubs were great.
Gord is a light, I miss him dearly.
Late to the show but their music now has a place in my soul. With love from Long Island NY
I really miss this band. ❤
Was thinking the same thing......sad that this can never happen again.
Gordy hands down one of the best stage performers ever!

Greatest Rock N Roll band on the planet. Absolutely fucking right. Gord Downie was a demi-god, in human form. No other frontman compares.
Not a cell phone in sight just people living in the moment
Wow. The Boys were on fire and Gord was killing it. If this doesn't do it for you then we can't be friends.
Totally true
Takes all i got to not well up when i watch these vids now..really sucks..miss Gord so much
I am with you Brother!
Geez I don't know.
No joke. I was there.
love langlois and his backup vocals.
All these years and this song still lights my soul on fire.
Giving me chills watching this😂
Tragically Hip Rule.

I couldn't agree more. Best live song ever! I had the privilege to see them 17 times and loved every show.
Fell down The Hip Rabbit Hole about 3 days ago. My favourite so far is when they did SNL in 1995.
This is the real Canadian National Anthem!
This show needs to released live. Vinyl, Spotify, whatever format they want. Damn.
Gordie the showman. Always worth the price of admission!
I've seen him pour his heart out like that for less than 50 people at a dive bar in Gainesville, Florida
Gord always gave us 1000%. Best of the best!
Thank you.
I couldn’t imagine seeing them in such a small venue.

Legend!!!

Love you Gord. You will be missed :(
Simply awesome - no other way to describe this performance... RIP Gordie!
God I wish I could have experienced that exact moment
Coming across this was a gift
Let's face it - boys from Kingston really do it best! "Atta-boy gordie!"
beautiful. merci beacoup.

This could well be the best post on UA-cam. Thanks!
Awesomeness as usual!
Saw the HIp every time they were at first Ave. However best concert was the Minnesota ZOO. Last concert in Vancouver very very high on the list also.
At the The Troubadour ???? wtf. Lucky folks !

Gord at his best.
rock on
thanks Dylan, a great 3 nights, sadly I could only make 2 of them.
So Canadian how the whole audience patiently waits for Gord to begin.... ;)
Everyone waits! but some don't call it waiting, they call it Forced Anticipation
I got Gord’s mic
I'm hoping they are going to release a remastered concert from this time frame at some point !!!!
Unfortunate that the Hip can only fill clubs in the US but arenas in Canada.
We were fucking lucky in the US!
What does "Easy Rider Version" mean?
It refers to his pretending to ride a chopper at the end.
@@DylanMattina Thank you!

Gord Gord Gord! So sad news today, Canada's King of The Stage! The Tragically Hip last tour '16! Fuck CANCER!
gord still wants to go on tour how Canadian is that?
Mopped the floor with the brittle hairs of the Gallagher brothers.
where am I? How did I get here?
Was that Paul Rudd in the audience at 6:32?
I believe it was!
It makes no sense, no, it makes no sense, but I'll take it free any time
Easy rider version?

jus curious... what makes this the 'easy rider version' ?
What's Gordie doing at the end??? Revving his "motorcycle" and flashing the peace sign... 9-)
oh ok... just caught that at the end... posted the comment before i seen that
good call
