- BEST. VERSION. EVER.
Acoustic version of Scared. Amazing show...what is it like having The Hip play for you in a club the size of your living room? This... ♥
Thank you, thank you, thank you for this video. Americans loved Gord so much. When Canada cried, we cried. We didn't always get every reference, but we could still relate. He was a treasure.
We love you!
I'll never stop missing Gord. We were so lucky.
I agree wholeheartedly. As an American I was SO lucky to grow up on Lake Erie and be able to listen to radio out of London Ontario better than out of Erie PA or Cleveland. I started listening in 1990ish. I was introduced to the Hip shortly thereafter. Gord and the guys were such a HUGE part of my youth. Graduating in 1992. Searching from Buffalo to Cleveland to Pittsburgh and everywhere in between to find Up To Here or Road Apples or Fully Completely on cassette. Introducing everyone I could to their music. Sharing the heartbreak of an entire nation when we lost Gord.
There will never be another Gord Downey. Ever.
Some one asked me to describe their music once. "Who do they sound like?" they asked. I just looked at them and said, "They sound like the Tragically Hip."
In Gord we trust!
It's been a pleasure doin' business with you.
It's kind of what I do
2021 checking in… still miss him
We all do.
Such an embodiment of what to expect from a lead singer, passion, beauty.
This is a really good example of how Gord writes songs as poems first...
Thank you, Gord.
Thank you The Hip.
No one could ever come close to your sound.
So original🫶
Love ya Gord. Miss ya big time :(
Oh Gordie, I still find myself reaching for these beauty moments. I partied in my youth at your concerts and in my garage in Windsor. You had a galvanized group of Michiganders that we baptized into the “Hip”… they too were sad. You and the boys are a voice of a lot of lives. Thank you.
one of my favorite songs
The most honest music I ever heard.
I looked up to the Gord above and said "Hey man, Thanks".
The way it was meant to be heard and played!!!
One of the great Canadian poets. Thank you, Gord. We love you. We miss you.
How do you get every Canadian in L.A. into one room??? Miss you Gord. Soundtrack to my life growing up!
Great to see the appreciation the fans in LA have for the boys. Gord isn't that raw bundle of emotion and borderline insanity he was on stage in his younger days but it's obvious that these people were there for the music and that they loved it. Great job posting this show, been a fan for 20 years.
Sucks getting older realizing you will never relive moments like these. Thank god for youtube and some of the great Hip videos like this one.
Milhouse, is Bart over there, this is Homer.
Thanks very much for capturing and sharing these clips from The Troubadour show; It strikes me as an intense and intimate night. I'm having a rough patch right now (middle aged white male rough patch) and needed a good value check. In Gord We Trust.
You're very welcome. Remember, there is NOTHING we can’t handle and EVERYTHING is TEMPORARY. ☮️♥️🎶
In Canada The Hip are like musical Gods, living legends.
Rush too?
Ya BUD, Rush too ❤
Kingston(Canadian) Boys at their finest....!!
A great time capsule for the ' We are the same' Tour. A bunch of songs were played for the last time this tour
This song is so significant in the world we live in!! I live in Montréal but a 100% Canadian god bless our beautiful country because our children can learn modern English literature Cohen Gord in the school system!😊😊
They so rarely played this song live. Only time I've ever seen it. Beautiful
Was there all three nights. Best shows ever!!!!!
The Hip, the soundtrack of my life, the poetry to my soul ever. In Gord we trust.
Im glad I watched this. So inspiring. The hip rule!
Indeed!!!
Remembering being 14- 15 years old growing up in Port Dover Ont. Good times, No cares, living free
Thanks for sharing !!
DA HIIIIIIPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
This song means so much more to after 2020. These poetic words hold more weight and truth today more than ever. Thank you Gord.
Miss you Gordie , should of been huge outside of Canada
Yeah ... But that's sort of the point isn't it, eh?
I found this on a mix of favorite songs. I want to tell the person who chose the songs that I love at least half of the songs. I love The Hip, Pearl Jam, R.E.M., and The White Stripes. This is one of my favorite Scared versions.
Only half??? 💖💖💖💖💖

God bless all you boys
Gord is Canada's Jim Morrison.
for sure
for sure
More
Jim was great but he was no Gord
Great footage dude!
From Satin. I'll make you scared, if you pay me to. That's the deal. It was a cold calculation. It was a pleasure doing business with you
Sorry, I know how much Canadians love hip. I can't hear it without thinking of my dad
They have to much pride and dignity in their music to lip sync. Unlike most (all) musical pop artists today.
Playing a club in LA? If they were at home they would have been selling out arenas right across the country.
The Troubadour has a rich musical history and was the scene of history making performances. It would have been an honour.
Rest in peace
It's definitely a unique song. Not my favourite, but unique for sure.
Dare I say it the hip is still bigger than hockey here in Canada
What camera was used to film this in 2009? Good quality. Good zoom. Thank you.
It was a Sony but I don't recall the model. Very early HD.
I got a deal for you...
BRITNEY SPEARS IS THE QUEEN !
Gord was a voice of freedom. He was murderd
Cocaine Cowboy! Thanks man!
