Hey Pat, thanks for the shoutout at 26:46! For anyone wondering, I found Pat's face in Brett's book as mentioned at 16:41 in my review as seen here: ua-cam.com/video/LpBYrCuumck/v-deo.html - amusingly, I didn't recognize it as Pat at the time! I don't think it was malicious, as my 29-minute video includes 13 minutes of me pointing out several errors in Brett's The NES Omnibus. I have no comment about either of you personally, but I will say that I prefer books that have accurate information.
That is a crazy good find, lol. I got quite a few laughs from that. Surely that is a mistake from them just grabbing the first art they found online and not actually checking it. 🤣🤣🤣
If you google NES Blackjack, the cover with Pat's face is the one with the highest quality (used to sell the game on another page, funny enough), so I guess he googled the image of the cover and grabbed the one that looked better. This is hilarious xD

Ian and Pat, u nailed Amico Shill. I'm not embarassed to admit that at first I devoured what they were spewing having grown up on Intellivison. My older brother and I were both so super excited initially to see promises of upgraded greats we spent houurs playing together as kids. Cloudy Mountain. Bomb Squad. Night Stalker. We didn't really care about the new stuff, we just wanted so terribly badly to be able to sit down together on a Christmas morning like we did for all those years a gain back some of that magic. I just wanted it SO bad I believed it all until I didn't. And as much as I really didn't want to believe what you guys were saying, I finally did have to admit a new era of Intellivision wasn't coming and in fact, their own actions have destroyed all hope that I will ever see anything new Intellivision and the brand many of us old timers still have fond memories of, was eviscerated and trampled underfoot. I figure if Keith could have returned from the grave he would have, and rained hell fire down upon all these shills for disrespecting the legacy of Keith and the Blue Sky Rangers.
I specifically remember walking up to your booth at MGC last year, with both the NES and SNES books in my backpack to get signed (I was the one where the Special Edition might have "slipped"...stupid glossy covers 😉), and down the aisle from your booth was Wet's. His books caught my eye, as it definitely seemed a bit odd to see them in comparison to yours, but I had no idea of the background between you too, and honestly, I'd never heard of him at all before that. I'll definitely make a point of giving him the stink eye if I run into him in April.
Yeah hearing all this now makes it kind of I guess, ironic? That both Pat and Wet were in such close proximity to each other at MGC. Kinda like how it was also funny that Pat's booth was so close to the WATA booth.
This whole drama has been pretty amusing to watch as a complete outsider who sometimes has your videos get algorithm’d into my recommendations. The fact that he accidentally put your photoshopped face in his book forever is just the most spectacular self-own I’ve seen in a long time. I’ve been musing that the shills really acted a lot like Elon fans, there’s something about capitalist culture and it’s exaltation of superficial ostentatious displays of wealth that really seems to be harming the psyches of some men (it’s always men).
Was never a Brett fan to begin with but the more I hear about the guy the more I dislike him. I love that he put out a video about you recently that's basically the definition of passive aggressive. The guy has some issues he needs to work on.
I had been given a copy of Brett's book as a birthday present and after watching your video and you guys fighting back against all the cyber bullying I immediately tossed it in the recycle bin. But only cause I didnt want to clog my toilet.

PS Neither of us ever got a refund for our founders edition pre-orders
If anything the contributor should have had the little blurb and Brett should have had the long columns.
You should always cherish gifts from friends. Why not repurpose it as mulch, or kindling?
Just make sure not to be too influenceable
Could've donated that sucker or resell/replace it with Pat's book, but good on you anyway.
I bought your book & never heard of this other guy until now.
2 words: GOT EM!
.
But in all seriousness, be respectable and know fair game can be fair game on all sides.
.
Much respect to Pat and Ian, onward to 350!

.
Yeah I saw that he made that blog post on his site as his attempt to defend himself... just makes him look much weirder. Like seriously creepy old man alert.
"Stop bouncing the duck" needs to be added to the soundboard.
Brett screwed Brett! 💖
probably lost his smile too!
@@ShacoTime85 I came to add this comment and you beat me to it haha
The amico screw job
fantastic
Tommy Tallarico kicked Brett's leg out of his leg.
I hope WATA starts grading first print-run editions of Ultimate Nintendo: Guide to the NES Library, featuring the rare erroneous Brett Weiss variant reviews!
I've Don Rickel'ed you in the comments in the past here. However I loved this. I love all you do. I'll save up money to get your books. They are essential as far as info f9r the games. Thank you.
But but... the one in question is supposed to be a "nice guy".
22:50 The desperate-high-school-student-trying-to-sell-off-the-chocolate-bars-he-still-has-to-relatives-and-friends-(who-were-also-selling-chocolate-bars)-in-the-last-3-days-of-the-candy-sale-door-to-door-in-a-very-weird-and-unprofessional-manner way of selling the books...
I wonder if he ate the rest of his books in a basement somewhere...
I think the best part of Pat's book is the Star-rating system. I mean that's something any newbie to NES gaming would be interested in. Forget the history and memories, kids need to know the good games are, and the possible hidden gems, while helping them avoid the duds.
Even though I would have given a higher rating for Battletoads and Bad Dudes.
"Wet Rice" I love Ant, and this is the first I've heard of her.
I try 😂
Recall the books! Students would love it if textbooks were recalled for revisions! Wett Rice was *ing busted in this video, good job!!
Almost sounds like you should talk to a lawyer about "wet rice" using your image in his book that he profits from
The only reason I will get a copy of the wet rice book is if I could get Pat to autograph the blackjack pic with his face in it. 😅
That would be epic; and I hate saying epic!😂
Hmm, I wonder if Author Wet Rice is going to recall their NES book give this recently discovered gaffe of using the WRONG BOX ART for blackjack…
Faulty glue means the pages of Brett's book fall apart..!! 🤣🤣
General rule is if you're business relies on underpaying staff then you don't have a viable business model. If the money is there but you don't pay them by choice then that's just greed.
oh, Ian. How can you expect AN AUTHOR to know what WORDS mean?
Well don't worry. I bet Tommy will claim he "worked on" Metroid Prime Remastered, soon enough.
God, this shill gives people named Brett a bad name... But yeah Weiss seems like he's just incompetent. (Plus his writing is somehow worse than most of my undergrads'!)
Hi Pat, you should be hitting wet up for Royalties for using an image of yourself in his book. If he refuses, you should have grounds for compensation, especially after he didn’t seek permission from you to do so.
I'm going to assume Brett did not address the infamous picture on twitter or his website?
Love your work that you both do to expose frauds like this! The fact that the basics of human decency and respect are lost on these people just to make a buck and swindle fans is terrible. It diminishes faith that other pursuits that have honest intentions would be sucessful because the well has been poisoned.
I don't have anything to say about Brett that's new, but wow do I love Petty Pat and the Petty Pat theme. I wonder if you can incorporate him into the NES Punk videos. And a promo with Spencer Powers, I kind of have to see it now
You know with that unauthorized photo, you could make Wet Rice recall the book cuz that's a thing.
One of the first to comment! Pat your face on the launch picture for this video cracks me up! I hate to see you and Ian "go". You're literally the only podcast I ever watched, so thanks for 350 episodes of laughs.
Glad you mentioned the Brett Weiss blog. He comes across like a stalker remembering every interaction.
Wow this Wet Rice is a real lease of seat
BTW loved the theme song
Brett made a video about Rudy Ferretti who committed murder/suicide. It was blaringly obvious Brett was simply trying to gain, gain clicks, etc. It was shameful.
i laughed way too than i should have at the box art with pat pic in wet's pride and joy pmsl. Petty pat ahould be made into a series as there's a lot of content to cover about those assholes
The picture on the book looks like a love-child between Pat and Rami Malek.
Everyone in this whole conversation sound insane to the point I would even go to con with any one there
I mean, I would love for Petty Pat to be a recurring segment on this show if it means continued clowning on these Amico simps!(Unless this was a one and done thing just to air some personal grievances about ol' Wet Rice?)
You're killing me with that shirt bit. 🤣🤣🤣
9:41 “Coke is not going to invite Pepsi over to give a speech at the Christmas party.” Lol
NES/SNES GUIDE IS Coca-Cola!
Hey guys, I admit Atari is my go to and have no love for Intellivision but enjoy the topic and paired with a 32 once Malt Liquor goes great as these topics pair well with such love of gaming.
tthe boxart thing is just magical!
Well then... the two SNES omnibus books I got from him at a convention just feel scummy now. Probably time to make a certain upgrade...
I used to love your photoshopped face on NES games!
Pat's pretty good at jingles
The theme song. *chef kiss*
That new song is an absolute GEM !!
I am guessing the big UA-cam that he doesn’t want to mention is James. Wet rice probably embarrassed him self around avgn.
Wow that jingle is gonna be stuck in my head all night, maybe the beer will help me forget it. :)
Someone thought you should recall the first print run of books. That is a foolish suggestion.
After hearing more about The Author, I'm glad I never asked him for review copies. Most authors and publishers I've reached out to have been great, but this sounds like a nightmare.
