Great job on the flatties Jimbo!! I’ve been wanting to get one of the Fox Hunting rods for a while, but they were always sold out. They were back in stock last time I checked and I’m glad you did a video on it! Please do another! I was looking at the shorter version and was wondering about the sensitivity. I’ll mainly be using it for small paddle tails or shrimp imitations. Thank you sir!
I wanna try that one now too. Perhaps it will be less jiggly cuz it's shorter. Lol could be a good dragon rod replacement too since the 7ft L is no longer available
I've been surf fishing lately with a 9' daiwa presso ultralight rod, 2000 sized crossfire Lt with 6lb braid and 20lb mono leader. I use 3" gulp mullet with a size 1 hook and 7g cheb and the the fluke are choking it. Biggest I caught was a 22"
Need that reel for Saltwater bfs...first trying budget reel to see how I like Saltwater bfs fishing...if it goes good and getting this reel...nice video!
I left a link to Amazon! Ships from Japan and price is right due to current conversion! Get it and enjoy! I love the reel.. Plenty of more room for more line!
0.8 gou PE or 0.6 can have a lot on lol. so it's gonna be fun. i rather use the thicker 0.8 for surf like NJ, the waves are so strong at times, it pulls the fish back out as it's on the sand. but if you got calmer waves and if u fish back bays... u can get away with 0.6!
@rawrfishing 0.8 it is going to run 8lb mono also so far got a pack of Soloking braid and set up is Soloking Undine dc100 paired with Lurekiller ml/m 2 piece rod feels good so far but waiting to get a day off so I can test it out lol.
Fg knot is what u want. So many videos out there since it is a popular knot on how to tie it. But here's my take... Bfs shouldn't have micro guides. It's wrong since not everyone can tie fg knot and the small bfs guides are small enough already. That's why u don't see me use my dobyns anymore.
@@rawrfishing I never was able to find any tutorials for the fg knot using very light pound test lines like for bfs fishing - I have found that the lighter you go its much harder to tie though
Hmm.. Process are the same. I used the same videos to learn and apply. But I usually just use the Albright knot now. Faster than FG. Thinner than Alberto.. 10.5 wraps! Use more braid so u can tighten the ends properly.. U must Hawk tuah it! No lie, she knows how to tie knots!
@@andrewkim1357 it was way more cut offs than that. But I didn't wanna portray em all. Most of em were cut off instantly. But at least I battled one haha
Believe it or not... She did not pull it at all other than that portion lol. She also don't walk the beach to fish In search for fish. She stands and fish until I tell her to get moving lol. I invited her to go again, she declined lol
Lol, she died getting to the water... 0.8 miles from parking lot to first sight of the water! Then we hiked another. 3/4 mile up, then back, then that 0.8 miles back to the car... 730a to 330p... Lol
Looks like they had a 7'3" light model (732L) but sold out. Shame when popular CDM tackle sells out they can't get the factory to make more. Sometimes they never restock.
@@Daiwa_Is_King I did the other day to play with the brakes and get a feel. It's like a Tatula! Strong! I can cast down to 2.9 g even with half a spool filled! Sick!
@rawrfishing Yeah, it's been on my wish list for a while. NZ is really limited in whats available off the shelf. Baitcasters are not widely used here, but I have a Shimano Slx throwing a 1/2 Oz jig with a soft plastic. I'm looking to take it to the next level. Thanks for your content! More saltwater stuff please! 😀
I’m liking the surf fishing videos! Next week and finally will be surf fishing

Could you do a video on how you tie your leader lines? I always have trouble with the leader knot going through micro guides

細いPEラインのリーダーノットはSCノットがオススメです
FGよりも簡単で細いPEで起こりがちな、締め込みによる熱での劣化も起こり辛いです👍
PE0.8号まではSCで、それ以上はFGがおすすめです😊

Cant get away from the bite offs huh ? Maybe that rod would be better suited for jerkbaits in the surf.
Yeah... Half dozen more bite offs that I didn't portray lol.. But it could be possible for some jerkbait fishing!
