    Nice job. Can I suggest using moly grease to lubricate each of the pulleys? It is an excellent lubricant.

    • @Ea-Nasir_Copper_Co
      @Ea-Nasir_Copper_Co 3 роки тому

      It is, but I wouldn’t recommend it if he plans to use the pulley outside; moly grease isn’t recommended for wet conditions. I’d instead suggest a good lithium grease like Lucas Red "N" Tacky.

      @@Ea-Nasir_Copper_Co I've got items here that I lubricated with moly grease. These are used in industrial applications, & often in wet weather. No problem. I also use it in the axle , hub, & rear hub pivot bearings in my car, along with the rear axle joints, no problem with wet conditions. The brand moly grease I use is PENRITE. It has a good water resistant package, similar to marine grease. I also have a can of lithium grease here. With these pulleys, i would machine bronze sleeve bearings, & soak them in hot moly grease. My lawn mower wheels are lubricated with moly grease, & it is often used in wet weather. The trick to using this rope hoist is to put it away after use. You need to learn a lot about greases & their uses. I'm a retired engineer. If moly grease is not recommended for wet conditions, you tell me why it is used in a large number of automotive applications, such as constant velocity joints. A lot of these on cars have an issue where the boots split, & water can get in. This ingress of water is not what does the damage. The grease is thrown out by centrifugal force, thus leaving the bearings inside without lubrication. Water plays no part in this.

    Great save of a great piece of equipment. Can multiply your force greatly. Rare to need such force but nice to have as a tool when you do. I also agree, a bit of grease would be best on the parts as you assemble. Grease also tends to prevent rust back when used.
    Can you show the label on that rust remover jug? I have industry sources I can tap to give you a bit more info on that.

    Did you know that water and vinegar will eat rust just as good as rust remover and is a lot cheaper to buy?

    • @Ea-Nasir_Copper_Co
      @Ea-Nasir_Copper_Co 3 роки тому

      It'll also eat the base metal, but then again so will any acid - and unlike chelating agents such as Evapo-Rust acids need to be replaced fairly frequently.
      Electrolysis is a better choice for small items, especially if you already have a power source like AJ has. For the price of a tablespoonful or two of salt you can remove rust safely without any risk of damage to the base metal.

    This is how God works in our "rusty" being: when our spiritual joints are "numb" by the rust that the blows of life leave behind. When we think "it's all over" ...
    He rescues us, he takes us in his hands ... and he works silently in our "rust", with the music of the chirping of the birds ...
    It is so, even if you use tools that make us feel the acid, the force of the wind like a sandstorm ... sand and polish.
    The finished work is on his retina: he knows that we will come to shine and carry out the path for what He has created us: to provide a service ...
    And, he clearly "likes" him.

      #Sapnish:
      Así obra Dios en nuestro ser "oxidado": cuando nuestras articulaciones espirituales están "entumecidas" por el óxido que van dejando los golpes de la vida. Cuando creemos que "todo terminó"...
      Nos rescata, nos toma en sus manos...y trabaja silenciosamente en nuestro "oxido", con la música del trino de los pájaros...
      Es asi, aunque use herramientas que nos hagan sentir el ácido, la fuerza del viento como un tormenta de arena...lijar y pulir.
      La obra acabada la tiene en su retina: sabe que llegaremos a brillar y llevar a cabo el camino para lo que Él nos ha creado: brindar un servicio....
      Y, claramente "le gusta".
