I saw them in denver on this tour. He used an Alpha Aluminum snare, and that destroyed the other snares being used by the other bands. The kit blew a tama b/b and tama acrylic out of the water. I wouldnt have believed it before, but somehow SJC actually has a distinctive sound, and that sound translates over live micing better than anything else I've heard.
Don't wanna say anything against SJC, we should just not underestimate the work of the FOH-guy. they can ruin a lot or in this case possibly cause such an epic sound. I have not been there, I just want to throw that into consideration ;-)
You guys realize you are listening to a non-mixed audio track from a single microphone source right? All your critiques about the sound of the cymbals makes zero sense because its a raw track so stop posturing like know-it-alls and just enjoy the show.
@@crysalistwo189bro what. This is cam mic. Of course it’s bad. But Dan is clearly playing natty and the drums are micd up so the fans are getting Dan not samples
K this dude is dope but I feel really sorry for his elbow and shoulder joints when he's playing on the crash... the stick ends up going completely behind him
When I have a 5 piece setup i play the same way. Everyone talks shit that I'm just abusing my cymbals, but they don't get that I'm not beating on it with monster truck force, it's just the flow at that time and how I play it.
@@FullMetalMassacre probably. The only thing is that lots of metal drummers end up with lots of joint problems due to improper technique for years on end. I hope that doesn't happen to him.
Lame drum parts, I understand about playing for the music, but it gets to a point where you are choking the creativity out of the musical ideas with such generic content. Where is the art
How would you play too this song then Adam? Seems like architects could use a drummer like you.... ya know with all their lack of success these past few years :/
Love his style of playing fills, very creative! He's got a good balance between showing off and playing straight and simple :)
One of the best in the game right now! His drum parts are super creative
Eetu Mellin Drums you fucking with us?? Lol
He's right
I'd put Matt Greiner ahead of him tbh
@@ariffstrahovski Matt is also one of the best. Tbh there's too many drummers who I'd consider to be one of the best.
China - Lyrics:
KSH! KSH! KSH! KSH! KSH! KSH!
Isaac spohn whyd i read it like that 😂
🤣
Those ghost notes though 👌🏻👌🏻
Not wrong
the dynamics on them are crazy!!! all whilst he's smacking those cymbals with his entire arm.
Dan is a beast... Had the pleasure of seeing him live back in '16!
What a drummer, what a music, what a BAND! Just amazing 😍
Killer player and awesome music!
Tairony Medeiros the only things he kills are the cymbals.
Without a doubt one of the best drummers out there right now. Extremely creative, dynamic and simply a great guy. Keep it up Dan 🤘🥁
Wow!! ❤
Love how you can hear the entire audience on the chorus 😂❤
Such a solid and inspiring player!

Mitch ZImmerman I think the sound engineer deserves some credit and the sound has a lot to do with him and his processing!
Mitch ZImmerman i think its not all about the drums but the sound engineers
Ro0MSs016 i agree , they got the part of it
beast of a drummer
This is so well written, I'm having a blast everytime I play it. I love this song and I love this band!
Best crowd and performance of the tour was in Montreal, Canada!
One of the Best!
he’s my favourite person i cant
so much ENERGY!!!!
1:55
his hi-hat pedal is placed in between the double bass pedal?
so. tight. holy shit
RIP - crash

Even the crowd bleeds into it. People's standards. Give them something for free, and they'll still find ways to moan about it.
I’d say for being single mic, the audio is incredible!! I can’t get enough of the highs and lows.
Foot pedal cam maybe, for a drummer like dan who's pedal stuff is important to his style.
Ah I love dan searle
AMAZING!!
The fill at 0:11 still gets me
I was there! oh my god i knew that gold detailing looked familiar!
Awesome as always!
Worcester palladium? I was there!!!
Mar Lea after this album release I am PRAYING that they’ll be playing the palladium again this year 😩❤️
Mar Lea they are! See you May 20th fam!
That snare is so filthy 😳
I wish they came to my town....its a daydream I know 😓😓
Maybe they will one day!
@@SJCCustomDrums I hope 😷
This guy is a beast
Beast!
Anyone else annoyed how cool this dude looks 😂
best fucking metal drummer
That part at 2:45 sounds like an accident lol, I can’t tell with some of his drum parts being absolutely nuts.
Swermie At first i thought so too, but in the BBC Live Version he plays the same part also like this
It’s not a mistake because there are electronic drums which the fans can hear but we can’t hear because this badly recorded mic audio

😍😍😍
He's got dem octo arms
Fukin hell. Sounds even better listenin' and watchin it here.
China cuda been a bit better thou
TOP!
RIP Tom
🕊
i jsut wish hed tune his snare lower it would sound even better
You forgot that you are on the internet... Here.. you have to use something like "YOUR SNARE SOUNDS LIKE SHIT"...
nope, I always ignore such loosers
¡WOW!
Great performance! Not a fan of that china though
Super tight.
This guy fuck man ^^ epic drummer !
The dude is reaching behind his back like he is drawing a fucking sword
Rip cameraman
all the ghost note are so sassy
Very nice cover
He wrote this song.
Cover 🤣
Ean Albe
Cover? Are you kidding?
What?
That crash insulted dans mother!
Not into this music but he very good
What’s this fad where drummers wear cut up shirts?
playing this kind of music live for 1hr 30 minutes can get very sweaty and uncomfortable.
no está mal, pero me esperaba algo mejor.
A no seas mmn 😂😂😂
K this dude is dope but I feel really sorry for his elbow and shoulder joints when he's playing on the crash... the stick ends up going completely behind him
Liam Harlow yeah. It feels weird hahaha. But maybe its the angle of the camera also. Watching from others recordings seems to be more natural
@@hugorezende199 I've watched tons of other videos and he does the same thing...

sounds like a ordinary drummer
pedrotakiya what did you expect lol
pedrotakiya it's just this song, I found this one incredibly bland compared to some of their work
And he never professed to be anything but "an ordinary drummer"
If only their vocalist was a bit better live. Either don't put clear vocals in your songs or go take some singing lessons, lol.

Architects sounds more generic with every release. Couldn't really get into the last album
Chris B generic my fuckin ass. Their sound is distinctive. It only took them 2 albums to find the sound they’re comfortable with.
He said in an interview he's dialling his drumming back to allow room for other elements of the music. Nothing generic about it. It's his style.
You must only listen to jazz drummers and live in your mums basement
