JerBearVlogs yeah his level of skill is amazing. like there are no other drummers that I know of that can compare to his skill when it comes to these really weird and unusual rhythms I mean most the stuff sounds like a solo but he remembers and plays every detail perfectly
This man is truly a master of his craft. This drumming is on another level. The thing I like about his playing is it never comes off as repetitive or boring.
Dinho Oliveira If Jared Dines An Drum As Fast As A Virtual/Computer Drum Then This Guy Can Too Making This Possible (Sorry I'm Not Trying to Sound Mean if that came across Mean)
Over half a decade later and I still fall out of my seat every time that little fill at 1:29 comes around. Playing triplets that clean over 32nd note kicks shoudn't be possible, yet here we are
I've watched this video at least fifty times now, and the more I watch it, the more I realize that it's not absolutely perfect, and that's what's so amazing about it.
Somehow, this tops Chris' High Horse cover. This one is now replacing it as my favorite video on UA-cam. Its like no matter how many times you watch it you catch something you didn't notice before! Insane.
I am a pretty decent drummer, but Chirs astounds me... the part at 4:14 kept throwing me off, trying to figure out what he was doing, because he's not playing a normal straight pattern on the crashes. He's playing a couple beats and then a rest in a specific pattern, with the first beat 1 on a different crash. The pattern being 2, 2, 3, 2 (a rest after each number of crash hits.... while doing random snare hits on top... 🤯 Chris... you are an alien robot... 👽🤖🥁
Yo check out silent planet some time if you haven't. Talked to that guy after a show one time and he said he grew up playing in church and with funk. You can tell, and it's similar to this.
@@kevinfitzsimmons1258 I will check them out. Church drummers are some of the best out there. Larnell Lewis and Eric Moore are incredible drummers that started in the church.
Turner's playing bring to my mind's eye the image of a bunch of notes endlessly rolling off a table like balls, tumbling, yet somehow assembling themselves into a sophisticated structure before they hit the floor. This brother is a walking metric modulation clinic. 👍👍👍👍
0:29 I come back to this video purely for this section with the gravity blasting/roll (I play guitar so sorry if that’s not what it’s called lol). I must have watched it two dozen times and I still can’t get my head around it. Unbelievably incredible.
For myself personally, Chris Turner is my biggest influence in drumming. Several other drummers who were mentioned in the comments are particular influences of mine as well. If I may elaborate by sharing my personal opinion, The most important aspect to me is not their talent, as much as it is who they are as individual people. I completely admire and commend all of their dedication and diligence, however at the end of the day, regardless of what your capabilities are, all that matters is who you are as a person. From several of the drummers who were mentioned and who I have watched interviews from so far, they seem very humble and down-to-earth.
It sounds really natural. I love DW. The kick is awesome. Yes, it is not soo punchy like triggere stuff, but it sounds very natural. Awesome performance.
Dude is just next fucking level. And that is literally the culmination of hard work and determination. Hats off man, you make it look easy, as a person who’s played professionally, for almost 15 years, I can tell you it’s hard as fuck
This is the single best drum playthrough that I've ever watched. Just so sad that such a good video is single handedly ruined by that obnoxious camera work. That whatever person should never touch a camera ever again to not ever ruin another piece of art.
one of the most underrated, yet one of the best and most technical drummers out there. \m/
Ryan Patrick Arradaza I think he is not underrated, he is just not so famous
Василий Куртасов that also. hahaha
i'm from the future, 2024. everyone appreciates chris turner now

Chris: "Yes."

I actually just lost my shit. Idk where it is. Help me find it. You did this.
Chris: "wait I thought I was the tempo"
He looks like he can't believe he is playing this...

The face tends to do weird shit when completely focused. Happens to me too when im playing a videogame.
I mean... Makes sense
Hahahahah fuck im dying
Rofl
Is the camera guy on a boat?
nope....on acid
best comment I've seen here 😂
lolol
Toy wooden horse.
hahah this is so accurate
I honestly can’t comprehend the skill that this guy possesses. He has got to be one of the best drummers in metal music at the moment.
The ghost notes have ghost notes
These ghost notes gave me wood
😂😂😂
If in the near future the safety of planet earth comes down to interplanetary drum battle..i vote him to represent earth :p
Hahahahah😂😂😂😂 awesome
Him, Luke Holland, Jimmy Pino, and Jayden Mason in a 4v4 death match to save the planet

What in the actual is that one-handed snare roll at 2:56...My mind is actually blown. Easily one of the best metal drummers alive right now
JerBearVlogs it's called a gravity blast and uses the fulcrum for leverage to do it one handed
Frickin crazy dude
JerBearVlogs yeah his level of skill is amazing. like there are no other drummers that I know of that can compare to his skill when it comes to these really weird and unusual rhythms I mean most the stuff sounds like a solo but he remembers and plays every detail perfectly
Troy Drummer Allen he isn't the only that uses that, Aaron from Rings Of Saturn does it
Aaron AltKid oh shit yeah you're right I completely forgot about him. it's still insane though
1:34 - 1:36
The only part that I can play
Damn dude that's some extreme skills you got there if you can play that
JoJo Simzo 😂😂😂
Fugginnnnnnnn 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 GOD, I needed that laugh today!!! 🤘
even there you .. and i ..would miss the timing and hit the cymbals before bass :D :D
Even then you gotta hit the symbol right to make it sound good. Still room for error lol
Chris Turner inspired me to quit drumming
LMAO best comment here...
He turned you down
Exactly! Holy crap!!

This guy is insane. Oceans Ate Alaska need to do like 5 more albums with this dude
it's like he sees something we don't...
David Julian My favorite comment! Lmao
like what? o_O
BenjaminKavoosiDrums he sees Leprechauns jumping around his drumset, so he does his best to whack them with the sticks
damn. I see leprechauns jumping around my drumset too, but they're not that quick and many like his.
Watch all of his playthroughs ) (: Hes definitely on some psychedelics for sure
Probably needed an oil change after this....
The best drummer in the scene right now, in my opinion
Watch drummer engineers attack you in a while even though you wrote 'in my opinion"
idk, Matt Greiner from August Burns Red is pretty insane
so much yes!! him, issues drummer, and luke Holland are some of my favorites at the moment
Neel Verma jared dines lol
Umamul Fahmi I hope you aren't being serious...
Every single aspect about this entire album is absolutely orgasmic. I'm more than obsessed with this band now haha
I have those socks...still can't play this
What socks are they? Like, what brand and where do you get them

Did you try wearing them inside out?
Even if that worked...what the hell would you do with your hands? Have you tried 32nd note triplets? It's near impossible.

SkyDreamer 00 lol it's not hard to play what a drum computer plays, and tbh I think jareds drumming is really generic and boring imo
It's the Psychedelics speeding up his evolution
Holy... I'm definitely have to check out more of this drummer's works. He's beyond amazing!
You must release an instrumental version of the album
A True Djentleman that's what I was thinking.
They should release an instrumental of Lost Isles and Into Deep
I asked him already and they never had the opportunity to release an instrumental version of Lost Isles and they probably never will.
Otolep ....too bad
Yes, Lost Isles is insane

Words haven’t been invented to describe how skilled this guy is
lol he even broke out the brushes. This dude can do it all.
Chris Turner is probably the most talented drummer I have ever seen, keep on rocking, Chris Turner!!
Can't remember the last time I saw a single musician so far ahead of the talent of his band.
Unreal..so stoked for this album
I got bored of metal drumming, and then I found this guy. I am invigorated!

Such cool parts. Feels like he wrote it out and then refined every single section to perfection.
You don’t see a lot of core drummers utilize “blushda” fills. So technical. Incredible.

Finn Hancock dont think its coming
TheLoneWolf369 you never know 🤷♂️
Finn Hancock Yes, please!
I asked Jibs yesterday after the Hikari release show and he said they're coming sometime in the next 2 weeks hopefully
James Harrison OMG YES!
Dude is an absolute beast!! Double bass skills off-the-chain!! He rocked the hell out of that piece!! Love it!!
If he ever can't tour they'll just have to shut down. Nobody else can play this
The problem is not to play this... But to create drums like these
@Oliver-Vic Carquinn Luke Holland isn't fast enough to play like Chris...and yes, I know about Cinema drum cover or Glass Castle drum playthrough
Athos Oliver I mean Luke Holland does all of Jason Richardson’s solo stuff so he probably could play this 🤷🏻♂️
I'm working really hard on a Hikari cover. Wish me luck
Justin Lewington Idk, Oceans is a lot harder drum wise
Amazing drummer and band...
I didn't realize how much the vocal Melody made the chorus until now
This guy's a machine ! Love the style and technic
0:30-0:40 hits EVERY TIME. I try to make sure no one’s talking for at least that 10 seconds when I show them this.
Damn just excluding that whole ass 10 seconds that follows like it doesn't exist lol
