    Chef Ramsay throwing Josh’s red jacket away in disgust seconds after his mid-service chop sums the disappointment up in a nutshell more than anything. You could tell Ramsay cared about him, at least to an extent, hence why he gave him one more chance. So for Josh to completely squander that, plus a spot on All-Stars in general, was a facepalm and a half.

      I've always said that Mia really should have swapped with Trev after Scotley's elimination at the final 9. The Red team really needed something as they were getting killed in the challenges and services and the more that Trev got harassed by his teammates, the harder it became to watch. It also makes for 2 potential storylines, with Trev aiming to prove his ex-teammates wrong and the storyline of Ariel's team going against Mia's alongside a potential fued with Bret.

    • @khuehoang6631
      @khuehoang6631 Рік тому +5

      @@nevenpatrk9661 the storyline of Mia swapping with Trev actually sounded very interesting, even though there'd be a possibility of more Mia vs Bret feuds that I really don't gaf. However, the other blue team members would treat Trev way better (even Heather felt bad for the dude) and Mia could potentially carry the red team to some challenge victories. Ultimately though, I think this would help elevate season 18's arc of Ariel vs Mia, since they were clearly the main characters and their rivalry could've been the driving point of the season if they weren't on the same team

  • @Jayshiver

    Giovanni’s team swap is by far the most underrated. Dude got taken off the blue team 7 episodes in when he’d really bonded with his teammates and dumped on a team split in two (Paula and Andrea vs Carol and LA) and instead of complaining, he got them to stop arguing and work together to win 2 challenges in a row. Also, because of lack of team swap in season 3, the finalists, Rock and Bonnie are the only finalists who have their original team members but it backfired for both of them. Julia finally showing her true color that she really wants to be in Rock's team so bad also Bonnie mostly cracked under pressure and she can cry and her performance in finale is not good enough. Rock who usually carrying the Blue Team alone has to face that all of his team members totally suck at finale. Probably only Vinny who got redemption arc as being a douchebag on his running to saving Rock on finale. Even in deleted scene, Sous Chef Scott is so frustrated to see how pathetic Josh, Brad and Vinny are even he has to jump in to help them and complaining.

    I was watching the First boots video again, and I thought of something. I saw on a Drag Race video where someone said that being eliminated first is iconic, since you’ll always be remembered at least for that. Being the SECOND boot, however, is the actual worst. And with HK, unless it was an iconic second out like Jen, Ji, or Joseph, not many people seem to remember the actual second boots of most HK seasons, or at least those booted during the second elimination ceremonies.

      Well tbf the first boot is always memorable, they got chopped first which is easy to remember, the second boot is usually forgettable, no one seems to remember those who eliminated in the first 5 episodes, though in season 1 Dewberry is more memorable than Carol Ann. Carol Ann is perhap the only first boot that barely anyone seem to remember, Dewberry had moments in his short run, especially the final dinner service with the Brad Pitt's wife joke. Drag race, for example, everyone remembers Tammie Brown and Joey Jay despite them getting the second boot, and first boot like Alisa Summers, Penny Tration, Dahlia Sin and June Jambalaya are pretty forgettable. For some rare cases, though, the third boot sometimes considered to be forgettable if the second boot was fairly memorable to the audience.

    I think it would've absolutely been worth mentioning the team swaps in S20 as so much changed with both of them. After the first team swap, the blue team would dominate instead of the red team spawning the argument that Emily and Megan are blessings and/or Sam is a curse to whichever team they're on. The second team swap was just Antonio moving from blue to red, but he improved super drastically as we started to notice a more positive side of him not just in his skill but also as a person.

Even Brynn who mostly cry a lot can be likeable and she willingly to do a lot of punishments until she goes to do Bowling with Blue Team which is totally lame because other rewards before Bowling are way worth it. This might be a hot take, but I HATED the swap in Season 18. I think the veterans and rookies team was actually very balanced. Sure the Rookies won every challenge before the swap, but I do think a lot of them weren't tested much on the line so it wasn't exactly a wash like, say S21 was.
    In fact, S18 went downhill as soon as the swap happened. The women pretty much destroyed the men. Ariel, Mia and Heather are all excellent, Kanae improved significantly, and you can make the argument that GIzzy and Roe are very solid. The men had... Kevin. But he was out fast. Bret and Motto are good but not enough since they didn't really excel in any challenges. The rest of the men, especially Trev, were bad at challenges. It made the season extremely predictable.
    It's not to say that 18 is devoid of bad moments, I think everything pre-swap is HK classic like the Scott boot and the Jen quit, but man that swap just ruined the momentum of the whole season and gave us "another" Season 11.

    Honestly, I don't care what anyone says, I loved Josh from S14. He was silly, a great cook and funny. But however I don't agree with some of the things that he did in S14, but In S17 I felt like it was a little unfair. In his last service on the red team, they were all over him... and it was so unfortunate and I didn't want to see him go out like that. Tbh I've never really been fond of most of the girls on the red team in S17. But outside of HK I've seen Josh in the kitchen on his socials, he's a pretty happy dude, and doing the best for himself! They could have come to an understanding easier in private. Again, that is not what leaders do. Ramsay has one on one's. If he was so great he would have won. How about a video compiling some/all of the signature and/or challenge dishes that looked/sounded like they would taste bad, but ended up being really good? Examples could be Sade's cabbage & passion fruit dish, or the chicken soup dish in season 1's leftovers challenge.

      It was supposedly a Migraine, but some people think she was faking an illness so she could quit without officially quitting considering how humiliated she likely felt after making the worst signature dish in Hell's Kitchen history to the point where Chef Ramsey made everybody else taste it. She gave up cooking after the show, so IMO that detail supports the faking it theory.

    I hate to be an ass, but why is it that even when Matt is happy he always looks like he's holding back tears? Was he just nervous on camera or something?

      I think he was going with the classic way of team swaps. Meaning he was going over the ones that happened during elimination or before the challenge of the episode starts. I think Amber's swap was the only one that happened after the challenge and before dinner service.
