Bulgaria wouldn’t have done their own Yugoslavia, they were more focused on restoring old imperial Bulgarian ambitions and have a higher chance of attacking the ottomans for eastern Thrace, and to get a tsar crowned as Bulgarian Emperor, reviving the title like Ferdinand and Boris wanted, seeing as it hadn’t been in affect for like 900 years. After that they’d probably try to subjugate Greece.
I think it would depend on whether France fell to Syndicalist/Communist or Far-left ideologies like in the Kasierreich timeline. Germany would have hated having similar factions/alliances from both Russia and France on either end to contest them.
@@SolidAvenger1290, and that's exactly what happens to Germany in Kaiserreich. They're once again encricled, with the Syndicalist powers of France and Britain in the West, and an ultranationalist Russia in the East. Just like back in 1914.
Slovenia’s and Istria’s annexation into Germany, rather than Bulgaria, seems more likely due to its German minority, historical ties to Austria, and Germany's reluctance to relinquish access to the Adriatic and, consequently, the Mediterranean Sea. In this scenario, Italy might be offered parts of Albania to recgonize German annexations.
I also hardly can imagine in such a szenario Germany giving up Access to the Mediterrranean Sea. A Germany from Sea to Sea would be way to attractive to german Elites, national Pride and economy. Especially if Germany took over the french colonies in Africa and Southeast Asia.
As a slovenian i agree... some of the argon (i think its called that) we have is german sounding and lots of germans come to slovenia or croatia for hollidays
If that were the case Germany would likely offer a lot more of Dalmatia for it giving them all of the illyrian coastline Albania and offering parts of greece maybe idk but probably not
While I subscribe to the idea that Austria-Hungary is not as unstable and prone to collapse as many made it out to be, I think a conflict on the scale of World War I, despite the Dual Monarchy doing better in this timeline, would still be too much for it to bear. Especially if a powerful Germany that can dictate Austria-Hungary emerges out of it. While the Czechs, Poles, etc, might get a better deal under Austria rather than, say, Germany, if the institutions that hold the Empire together began to unravel, they'll probably just swallow the bitter pill and try to get the best deal possible while jumping ship rather than have the deal imposed on them.
and to add, attempts to reform the Empire will probably actually just make it more unstable. While the elites would probably love for it to work, I think many German Austrians are not quite as keen to the idea, and the Hungarians probably even less so. In my opinion, the condition that exists in the pre-WWI Austria-Hungary status quo were really only as stable as it was because the rest of Europe itself was fairly stable and balanced. Any big shakeup in Europe will inevitably rock Austria-Hungary, and WWI was that big shakeup.
In this alternate history, we have forgotten that the end of WW1 would bring a traumatised French corporal (born Belgian) named Adolphe Hilaire to become a firebrand politician after being rejected as an artist by the Paris Academy of Fine Arts. What could go wrong with that? 😉
Or how this alternate end of WW1 would see France collapse into civil war as Syndicalist revolutionaries seize Paris and the territories formerly occupied by the Germans while Italy ousts its monarchy and the British Empire begins a slow decline...
@@stevekook-xw3is True, but I think there still was a way (even if next to impossible) for France to dominate, and that would have been going the exact opposite choice with ultra right wing racism. If the French had decided that they had lost WWI because they were too disunited and that they needed a true Holy National Union (l'Union Sacrée Nationale) under real human rights and republican principles for all French and colonial citizens (the rest of the world are not "real" human beings in this scenario), then, and only then, could the French pool the manpower resources from Asia and Africa to enact the "revanchism" policies needed to become a military hegemon in the world scene. As said, that would be pretty far fetched, but I once tried that path from the focus tree in HOI4 and it was the easiest world conquest I ever had with France...
Austria just got bullied. They went from being the greatest power in Europe, to getting divided among their neighbors. Germany, whom they used to be stronger than, Italy, who they used to basically control, and a Balkan Nation that seemed under the thumb of the Austrians for quite some time.
Joke video idea: what if Santa Claus joined the Allies in WW2? I’ve been toying with the idea for a few days of Santa being real, and he would object to the atrocities he’d be witnessing (whole, see you when you’re sleeping, knows when you’re awake, thing) from the Nazis, (genocide and all that), and join the Allies with his army of elves and reindeer, bombing Berlin by sleigh. It’s a silly idea, but I thought “why not?” Edit: My ideal PoD would be 1943-ish, probably December. Doing it in 1944 seems too late, and any earlier and a majority of the worst of it won’t have happened yet. If you set the scenario let’s say December 20, 1943, the Claus family contacts the Allied command and insists on intervention. PH HMU 🤙
Cool idea but, isn’t Santa like idk 2 million mph, since he delivers presents to 2B people at the time of the 1940’s, he would be bombing all of Germany.
I also think PH really undersell Russia's capability to remain as an important player after losing the war. Sure, they're probably not gonna try to enroach on Germany's sphere for a long time, but an Ottoman Empire that might not be very stable and also overstreched? Definitely doable. Britain and Germany might even just decide that a shattered Ottoman Empire would be better for their interests if Istanbul ever get any ideas about nationalizing their oil or something like that.
I made this Russia as Comrade PH mentioned, and yes, that is by far the best outcome Russia will get. Other options, for example if certain Lavr Kornilov succeeds(pretty possible without much Bolshevik influence), Russia would have turned into the 2nd China. Not modern era, warlord era China.
@@ivanserov1846 oh yeah, I'm sure it could get much worse, but then again creating a Russia that isnt a complete mess while also keeping with the idea of the timeline being one where Germany stands as a European hegemon is probably quite challenging. I appreciate your work with PH, regardless.
@@captainH023 Thats not exactly what I meant. The issue would be the government itself, because, at least for the first decade, the Parliament would be dominated by the wide left coalition, with the SRs as the majority. SRs are not the Bolsheviks, especially in economics, in that sphere they are closer to Venezuela or Indian Permit Raj policies of the 20th century, their ideology and programm was good for the simple man of the Russian peasant and laborer, but werent good for the overall national development. And their leadership(and Kerensky's own flaws) plus the afforementioned land and debt problems would really hit the Russian economy by a long shot.
@@ivanserov1846 ah. okay now i get it. PH never really made clear what is it about the new Russian government that would make it so toothless, but having it laid out here explained it. thank you!
@@ivanserov1846, yeah. Russia would likely take a similar route to Germany OTL, spending the 1920's and early 1930's dominated by a relatively weak left-wing republican government, and eventually being toppled and replaced by a right-wing nationalist dictator (Savinkov, anyone???) that would seek revenge on the Germans (and potentially Ottomans) for the humiliation of Brest-Litovsk.
Great video! Editing is really improving lately! Keep it up! Also Yugoslavia would might collapse, but this time we have nukes, it's going to be very interesting!
As a Bulgarian,Bulgarian Illyria is absolutely blursed, on one hand Big Bulgaria, on the other multicultural hellhole. How would it even function? Western South Slavs and Eastern South Slavs don't even speak the same language. Would they use torlak dialects(transition Serbian to Bulgarian) in order to link the 2 Slavic groups?
Well, if this government actually allows for true federalism and multiculturalism, while keeping the country mostly equally developed it could work, the problem with yugoslavia was that serbian nationalists rose to power and tito's decentralized system lead to economic inequality
While i think i can agree on a lot of fronts here, the one thing i am almost certain on is the ottomans would not get away with that by any means. With an Empowered Bulgaria and Italy, as well as a still rather influential england, even the germans would have to realize that the ottomans were going to far. I see it far more likely within the 20s or 30s that they find themselves dismantled, possibly even before the austrians, to prevent the extermination of groups like the Armenians. This hadn't even considered that the christian population was made larger by the war, making their success far less likely than in our own timeline. While i think the other situations were fairly decent takes, I can't say i could see the ottomans getting away without imploding even more so than the austrians
I think the most likely scenario for the Ottomans is that the CUP would be overthrown after the war and be replaced by a more moderate nationalist regime led by Mustafa Kemal, who would seek to modernize the empire and assert it as a Great Power in its own right. But when Kemal inevitably dies, his successors will be unable to replicate his successes, and the empire would be torn apart from inside and out, both by internal nationalist groups and hungry foreign powers looking to gain from the destruction of the Sick Man of Europe.
I disagree, as stated in the video, ottomans are essential for germany and british, even for italy. It would probably be A play ground for influence. I think the most important factor that will be deciding the Fate of the empire is the emerging factions. So if a modernist faction emerge, ottoman empire could die off like you Said as the government wants to kill out the foreign influence. But if a more appeaser faction emerge, things May go like shown in the video. And if ottomans collapse, middle east would be likely same with our timeline except for few german colonies and influenced states scattered. In addition to this, I dont think nations would really care about miniorities getting expelled or even exterminated as it would be more beneficial for them to stay in controle of more intact and strong in theory state.
@@Heinz-gv8rm I can understand where that point can be made, especially seeing how the British treated the Ottomans prior to ww1, but I just don't think History backs it up. To start, it should be noted that the ottoman's goal would be less of a Christian population, not more, so taking in more Armenians and Georgian land is already pushing the limits. But then, to say the ottomans and young Turks would just continue to push the slaughter further against an even larger population with no one stepping in is absurd. The Bulgarians had lost land two years prior to the war starting against the Ottomans, and if given such victories, they have no reason to stand by. The Germans may want an ally to control the straights, and if Bulgaria is positioned as a rising power, they likely would favor them over the ottomans, which, there's a chance the British or any of their neighbors could step in. Saying that other nations wouldn't care is absurd, most of our best sources on the matter come from outside observers in the Ottoman empire, as most Turkish sources at outright propaganda on the matter. The Russo-Turkish war 40 years prior started over outrage from Ottoman treatment of minorities, and while the other powers had intervened in the Crimean war, they stepped back here as their own populations were horrified at how barbaric the ottomans were. I don't see any difference here, as the Ottomans are far more likely to be split up between the other powers, Germans included, then to be allowed to expand such horrors
@@aquarius3848 I see. First off, world countries such as germany and british in this timeline does not really care about miniorities getting slaughtared, they only intervene or "care" if they have something to gain from it. We can see this even today, look at USA, they "Liberated" Iraq to stop terrorism and inhumane actions commited by saddam husein, they did their job, ended authoritarian and oppresive regime. But now? Iraq is mostly left behind as a backwards state, struggling with terrorist organisations and economically destroyed. This can also be Said about Afganistan, even further, they stopped the oppresive regime and a decade later, more oppresive one came. Our topic is not modern times but i found this to be a good example. The old days of fighting for jesus had died after reform and renaissence. Countries dont care any more if millions People gets killed, unless it effects them. I also think that ottomans main wealth wasnt their straits, yes it is also an important trading hub but it is not as important as natural recources in anatolia and arabia such as chromium and boron in Turkey and oil fields in arabia. Also anatolia and northern arabia is famous for its cloth and cotton production. So using bulgaria as a tool to control straits is A good option for germany but keeping the ottomans intact and securing influence over it is a better option. Furthermore, i dont think ottomans could have survive much longer, at max late 40 or mid 50 is its maximum living date as there is no Way ottomans can come up with a solution to Live past that, already old and useless ruling traditions, turkish population ruling over arabs and cristhians "quite oppresively", destroyed economy and great powers gambling over their natural recources. This leads me to believe ottomans will eventually die, but not like exploding into multiple pieces. There is 2 out comes i believe: First: Everything goes similar to our timeline, a turkish state is created and rest is divided between germany and british possibly french. Second: Ottoman empire collapses and shatters into multiple pieces and your scenario takes place. I believe the first one is more realistic and possible but i wont make a comment on the second one as i want to hear your toughts first.
@@Heinz-gv8rm See, again, don't worry, I understand where you are coming from, but I personally just don't see it as a realistic thing, besides that in the end, the ottomans will collapse one way or the other. To start, the Americans and British both acted as outside observers in regards to what happened to the Christian populations, and in this scenario, the Greeks are actually likely to start the international uproar, let alone the other powers I've previously mentioned. They had maintained neutral for the war, and had ties to both the Germans and British. If the ottomans started to slaughter and displace the entire Greek population, let alone the Armenians and other Christian populations, it is fairly likely that the ottomans are dropped so the Germans and British can carve oil rich regions away, while the Christians likely form a state at least in the caucuses between the Georgians and Armenians, likely reaching into Anatolia. The Bulgarians likely push for Constantinople if they see their chance with Germany turning on the ottomans, while the Greeks would likely at least try for the West Anatolian coast, although similar to our timeline, there's always the chance the Turks at least repel and hold onto Anatolia. The idea that the ottomans are propped up even further when even the Turks are done with the ottoman empire by the point of the war , let alone the Arabs, is just too unrealistic. With the Christians, Arabs, and Turks all against this state (note that migrated circassians and Kurds weren't as opposed to the ottomans at this point), it is very unlikely the ottomans last for long at all after the war, let alone if they commit even more atrocities, which would get their allies and neutral parties up against them. The Greeks, Italians, Germans, British, and Bulgarians all have claims to wanting the empire, and even Reza shah in Persia could have an eye on the Azerbaijan region, although that last one is a bit more far fetched. I just can't see the ottomans lasting for long enough, and they likely would be torn apart by various powers as attaturk would miss his chance to modernize the state. That's another note, for all we know, attaturk could still overthrow the other young Turks in an attempt to disband the empire from within, as many Turks had grown rather opposed to the empire prior to the war, and winning the war likely wouldn't change this. Overall, I think there are just far too many internal and external factors to let this slide. I think the fact that the Greeks were neutral during the war yet had their people treated so horribly would likely be the tipping point, as the Germans could no longer bury their heads in the sand, and the British would likely jump at the opportunity to gain valuable land with a valid excuse following their loss in the great war. This could then coincide with Arabs, Christians, and Turks under Attaturk revolting plunging the region into chaos realistically before even the Austrian collapse.

One question feels unaddressed at all: What about Yugoslavian/Crotia and Italian relations? Istria got Slavic majority ( not counting Trieste) , also there was Rjeka ( Fiume) another city with Italian majority in the centre , IRL conflict sparked over it with Gabrielle Dannuzio moving Italian troops(veterans of WW1) to occupy the city.
Yugoslavia and Italy would definitely be at each other's throats over the fate of Dalmatia and Littoral. Something I imagine the Germans would take advantage of to increase their own influence in the region.
Not to mention Iberia. They had vested interest in both factions of ww1. Would a civil war be avoided? Or would the nations fall under a particular sphere of influence?
@@TheRestedOne, I imagine Portugal would remain close allies with the British. Spain, meanwhile, would get close to Germany at first to prop up its own economy and interests, but would eventually fall into civil war. I'm not really sure if there was a good way to avoid it.
@@occam7382In such cause where Bulgaria is the big boss of Yugoslavia I don't think we could care about some territory there. Our ambitions don't have a match to this Yugoslavia thing and are in wrong direction.
@@stevekook-xw3is, IF Bulgaria becomes the dominant force in Yugoslavia. I think it's far more likely that, if Yugoslavia even does form in a scenario where the Central Powers win WW1, it would still be under Serbian leadership, and if not them, the Croats. Bulgaria would be too busy desperately trying to maintain their already overstretched empire to even think about the idea of forming Yugoslavia.
Wow. This is what I've been looking for for so long. A realistic alternate history about the world in the decades following the Central Powers victory. This is so good
I doubt bulgaria would want to form Yugoslavia, they probably would’ve been more focused on attacking Greece to take back lost parts of Thrace after the second Balkan war
Whatever our wildest ambitions were we couldn't be interested in something like that where we are neighbours to Italy. At the time the kingdom is not nearly enough developed for such an empire like state. Allegedly we were the largest population in Balkans but this Yugoslavia thing is weird. A whole bunch of Serbs in middle and a whole bunch of others folks in lands that simply don't matter to Bulgarian ambitions. Consolidating in the neighbourhood seems to make much more sense than Yugoslavia. Them Serbs couldn't handle it in real time line. They got massive beating in ww1 and that gift to them is more generous than they deserve or could handle. Should've been given something like till west Bosnia. They weren't ready to control so much and obviously didn't had the money to do so. Neither would we Bulgarians. It's said that in 1st Balkan war there were not enough rifles to equip the whole army that fought in the war. That war is only a few moments prior to ww1. By having gained Yugoslavia we do not get to loot places filled with endless riches. Again Serbs in middle. What would be gained from conquering them? Nothing of the necessary level that requires handling an empire.
Trialism would not have happened. The Austrian emperor would rather have attempted federalism, like he wanted to in our timeline. The preparations were actually made in October 1918, but that was too late. So in this timeline it would be more realistic if that happens instead of Trialism. And the thing is, the South Slavs (Croatians in particular) weren't actually that unhappy with the Habsburg rule. They were split pretty much evenly between joining a federation with Austria and joining a Yugoslav state. Who knows what would've happened had federalism been introduced earlier.
I think you have made good points with a Habsburg Civil War breaking out during the Great Depression. Austria-Hungary pretty much had nationwide protests in January 1918 due to the awful economic situation, mass inflation and food shortages. Now, if the Great Depression really goes terrible for Austria, it could possibly happen.
I think a more realistic collapse of Austria-Hungary would be when Austria demands that Hungary federalize, and in retaliation, Hungary declares independence, leading to an Austrian military intervention.
Sounds like a better version of our real history. No Soviet Union, no Nazi Germany and no WW2. There also seems no real reason to a all out arms race like in our world. Germany, Britain and the USA don't seem to be the best friends but they are no enemies either, with total opposite ideologies.
I get what you mean but probably the Colonial Empires would last longer and longer, causing more misery onto the Third World, also after some time France or Russia would radicalize to the Right wing and try to destroy Germany
3:25 Personally I believe Ukraine should be MUCH bigger than in this scenario. This was before the soviets decimated the Ukrainian population in the east. As fast east as the Kuban most people considered themselves to be Ukrainians. That doesn’t mean all of modern day Ukraine, including the Kuban region would be Ukrainian of course, but letting Russia keep half of modern Ukraine if Ukraine breaks off with German backing and the country is basically collapsing doesn’t seem accurate at all
Believe it or not Ottomans actually were modernizing. After the 1908 Young Turks revolution and overthrow of autocratic Abdulhamit II, democracy was restored to the empire and sweeping reforms were being made. It's just that in the aftermath of the catastrophic First Balkan War, 3 Pashas staged a coup and took over. After that WW1 killed the empire. But if they were given some breathing time and not get attacked constantly, Ottomans could've remained a relatively stable modernizing Democracy.
16:41 No way, I remember commenting on his “what if Everything went PERFECT for the Hapsburg Video, saying how I want there to be a new series following a countries History but if everything went wrong. Now he is finally doing it
Italy will have no say in this, since they broke their 3-powers-pact. They stayed in the back and didnt help (liek they promised to) and in the end even backstabbed, by turning on them by when they were promised austrian lands... And still lost. The only turning point would be the usa not entering ww1, because the germans could still handle the 4 front war alone (up until the usa joined)
I'm not entirly sure Austria would break up this way. Major Reforms are also unlikly, but Germany propably want to keep it togehter to use Austria to control Hungary and the Balkans for them. With German support Austria propably can get some minor reforms trough tough.

It's going to be tons of genocide and attemptes at rebellion. Germany would probably use nukes on rebels no problem tbh. The peoples of China and Russia are going to be stuck in blackwater hell holes. This just looks like a terrible word to live in.
Video suggestion: You could make a video about how you would've liked world events to play out after a certain date (Treaty of Vienna, WW1, WW2, up to you) to modern times. The video could be titled something like "How I would've liked to see world events play out after *X date*" or "My PERFECT world after *X date*".
The Ottoman Empire would probably fall and break up as well. Even if they won the war, the Arabs and the other nationalities will not sit idle. Rebellions would continue to develop with support from the West, primarily Britain and France. The break ups of the Ottomans would be eventual as well.
How? With the continuation of the Army reforms that were interrupted by WW1, addition of Azerbaijan making the empire more than 50% Turkish and German assistance they can easily handle internal problems for the foreseeable future. As for the external threats, Russia can't do anything with their abysmal state, Also, French and Brits don't have a reason to hostile against Ottomans so they are safe on that regard as well.
@@simulacrumpilot2777 First: Trying to just simply deport or genocide the minorities wouldn't go unpunished as it would immediately cause massive uprisings that can overwhelm the Empire while straining all relations in Europe (as this has happened before), not even to mention that there will be Turks who oppose the Young Turks incompetency. Second: Even if Germany have supported them in the past, their incompetency would change Germany's mind and if Britain doesn't get too involved, would just leave them to their misery, Their Neighbours (like Greece and Bulgaria) can form an anti Ottoman coalition as a response to their atrocities, something which even Russia would see this as a massive opportunity to regain it's lands and support the anti ottoman uprisings. Third: they could barely industrialise due to the social structure and the traditionalist Islamic elites and the Government itself. Since there is no "Kemal Ataturk" there to completely change Turkish society as a whole, the Ottoman backwardness will remain. Lastly: (as a combination for all of these factors) The Ottomans wouldn't survive for long, at least 5-10 years under these conditions (depending on when they act) as they would lose all Moral support, have their neighbours go on to partition them and stop their Genocidal program, which would result in their Collapse, but I am not very certain as to what will the results be. I see Bulgaria, Greece, Russia, The Arabs, The British (if they wanted to restore some of their colonies) and even Persia team up against them, resulting in their inevitable partition and collapse, while states like: Armenia, Kurds (could be annexed by Persia and integrated due to their similar cultures and being both Iranic) and Arab states form out of them, While Bulgaria alongside Greece will get their claims (with Bulgaria finally getting Constantinople) and Greece securing some Anatolian land and finally Russia retaking Georgia and Azerbaijan and possibly Armenia (they could make them as a big puppet state in Eastern Anatolia). Just to note that the way I think the Empire would collapse is my Speculation, but I can say for certain is that The Empire wouldn't last long.
Two Ideas: - what if everything went optimally for the future of the world in WW1. I.e. as much tension as possible is resolved(e.g. shifting borders to fit ethnic lines), as little tension as possible is set up(e.g. germany doesn't get versaille'd) and imperialism/neoimperialism is killed as best as possible (no wilsonian imperialism or standard imperialism) - what if the SA revolted against the SS/NSDAP after being tipped Off about hitler's plans to neuter them and kill off their top brass
There is no way that the Black Hundreds dont take over Russia, Action Française over France or that Germany allows Austria to break apart as that would mean more countries that could be influenced by other powers (specially Russia after it resettles), also you barely talked about Italy, that has a radically different position than in OTL
Problem is: Black hundredists were driven underground pretty soundly by the revolution, and at least the first decade would see a pretty much SR-Mensheviks domination, since they perfectly catered to the people that mattered in Russia at the time: the peasants and large factories workers.
Also there isn't a single introspection of Germany, that now has to deal with more french population in the west, nationalistic eastern puppets and inner political issues such as south-german nationalism (that would be strengthened due to the incorporation of Austria you propose in the video, although by that point it was less relevant as Wilhelm II stopped the discrimination against catholicism that Bismark started), colonial issues (that you mostly omit) and the leftist opposition, also they would need to spend lots of resources mantaining their sphere of influence in shape.
Habsburg was always open to ceding Galicia, I think they would rather secure a good ally Poland in this scenario. For the south Slav problem, I think status quo would be the best option, keeping the tension between Magyar and south Slav so that they can align with Austrian german in internal affairs. It is a misconception that the minority cause the collapse of the empire OTL. The nationalism was created to justify the existence successor states. In reality it was the power vacuum from the collapse of Russia monarch that cause the breakup of Habsburg. No one except radical Serbs and Magyar nobility had the will to do a full blown military revolt. With the protection of the army, they are no reason for Croat and sloven to leave the empire and the be minority of just another empire. The situation would still be bad. But with decent diplomatic moves, the empire would not fall at least in a few decades.
@@chadhuman982, Italy gains Malta, Littoral, Fiume, Dalmatia, Nice, Savoy, and Corsica. And gets rid of its monarchy in favor of a republic. Only then will Italy truly be great.
So bizzare seing Bulgaria being essentially Yugoslavia. Bulgaroslavia? I have doubts that the Serbs, Bosnians and Croats would want to be a part of this super-Bulgaria, (Well, certainly the Serbs, at least.) And they would want independence. Also, Greece is surprisingly tame during all this? Forgot to add, but I think Bulgaria would be completely fine, having the territories you assigned here, at the of the video, and wouldn't want further expansion.
Bulgaria was originally proposed to be part of Yugoslavia, so this is that, but under the Bulgarians instead of the Serbs. And yes, it would be brutal, just like our own timeline, but Germans wouldn’t want to see it completely collapse. It’s possible they survive until the modern day, though how stable they would be if they did I have NO idea. And as for Greece, yeah, they would hate it, but what are they realistically going to do? Fight the strongest power in the Balkans in a 1 on 1 while being even weaker and poorer than in our timeline?
Greece is tame because what are they gonna do? They can't take on Bulgarians, they can't take on Ottomans and they can't take on Albanians since Albania is under Italian control.
I think the Ottomans surviving world war 1 depends entirely on the 3 pashas being in power or not and what for example Atatürk would do regardless of a German victory. The biggest chance of a Ottoman survival of WW1 is the 3 pashas never being what they were namely being in power. Without these 3 pashas chances for an Ottoman policy of ethnic cleansing are much smaller. After all one of the major drivers for their policy of ethnic cleansing was the loss of the Balkan territories and what happened to Muslims in all the former Ottoman territories. A victory with political actors not as driven by the trauma of these losses very well could lead to a continuation of the processing/acceptance of these losses. Chances are that there will still be issues with the Arabs in the southern part of the empire I can see the Ottoman state defeating an armed uprising quite easily as without the policies of the 3 pashas the Arabs would not feel as threatened by the pashas and the revolt was not that popular to begin with in large parts of the Arab majority part of the empire. The Kurdish revolts that happened in our own timeline were almost all driven by religious reasons and it is not likely we would Muslim revolts in a victorious Ottoman state. The wild card however remains what happens with Atatürk? If he still emerges as a hero from world war 1 it is very likely he would become a political figure after the war. Atatürk was quite conciliatory towards his neighbours and it is likely that without an Ottoman defeat such a hardline secularist and nationalist approach as what happened in our time would never have happened. He would likely have put effort into further turning the Ottoman empire into a constitutional monarchy. That was the path they were on before world war 1 to begin with. Is this enough to ensure the survival of the Ottoman state it is very hard to say but ironically the person most responsible for the ending of the empire is also the man who could have pulled it off. The foreign power that could be the biggest threat to the Ottomans are the Bulgarians but this might actually be a longer term threat. While in a world with no other powers I can see the Bulgarians attacking the Ottomans in the late 20's or early 30s it is likely that they will be distracted by the collapse of the Austrians. This might all sound rather optimistic but I think what happened in our own world is probably the worst that ever could have happened to the Ottoman state. As sick as the Ottoman empire was by 1914 the path without an Ottoman collapse in world war 1 would also give it a real chance at stabilising after world war 1. Regardless of everything else that entire region has enormous potential for the 20th century and again what happened in our time line is arguably the worst possible outcome.
Do you think they would be able to hold onto Iranian Azerbaijan? Since OTL, they managed to take a fair chunk of it. But ITTL, Britain is losing, so it wouldn't be able to send so many troops to such a distant frontier. Via a Capsian navy at Baku, the Hyrcanian lowlands should also be fairly easy to take and maintain. Which via Gurgan would spread direct Ottoman influence into Central Asia, which could be used to support them against Russia. As well as in supporting the Ma Clique in China. Potentially, ottoman support of Turkish tribes could result in all Iranian Kurdistan falling to the ottomans. And finally, Khuzistan could probably be taken fairly easily, increasing ottoman oil even more. Resulting in all Western Persia being annexed. The remainder being a greatly crippled Ottoman vassal Beyond that, Ottomans could push for a pan Islam in the colonies of weakened Britain and France. Creating, funding and arming resistance movements throughout the colonised islamic world, from Indonesia to Senegal. But most importantly for the Ottomans: Egypt. OTL, the Egyptians were resented British rule, revolting in 1919. But ITTL, with a British defeat and Ottoman Victory, tensions would be many times greater. It should be quite easy to fund and arm a mass armed revolt against the British, who wouldn't have the money or resources to stop it. Ideally simultaneous revolts would occur in British India, and other colonies. Eventually the Ottoman army itself getting involved and invading Egypt in support of the rebels. Taking Egypt and Sudan by in early-mid 1920s. Almost doubling the Ottoman population with an influx of 18 million Egyptian/Sudanese. Cutting the Brits from the Suez, allowing much more effective revolts in British India.
Austria was literally in the middle of federalizing and to say the ottomans just survive is also pretty childish now if you held the Austrians to the same standard I would understand but Austria had the necessary influence and Allie’s in Bohemia and Galicia to keep them in check the Hungarians would collapse immediately without the Habsburg a this can be proven by how horribly the Hungarians managed them in ww2

©josepsamarrafarre In this cause it can't be the same. In ww1 Germany proves to be stronger. In such scenario France could not stick it to them the way Germany managed to almost rule the continent. It's requires even more luck than Germany had in begining of ww2.

@@Heinz-gv8rm
I can understand where that point can be made, especially seeing how the British treated the Ottomans prior to ww1, but I just don't think History backs it up.
There is 2 out comes i believe:
First: Everything goes similar to our timeline, a turkish state is created and rest is divided between germany and british possibly french.
Second: Ottoman empire collapses and shatters into multiple pieces and your scenario takes place.
I believe the first one is more realistic and possible but i wont make a comment on the second one as i want to hear your toughts first.
@@Heinz-gv8rm
See, again, don't worry, I understand where you are coming from, but I personally just don't see it as a realistic thing, besides that in the end, the ottomans will collapse one way or the other.

This should be a hoi4 mod (I know kaiserreich already exists but there should be a kaiserreich like this)
Do you play hoi4?

I'm not entirly sure Austria would break up this way. Major Reforms are also unlikly, but Germany propably want to keep it togehter to use Austria to control Hungary and the Balkans for them. With German support Austria propably can get some minor reforms trough tough.
Cool video, can't wait for the next Empire video.

Germany won WW2 💀
I'm so happy to see call of war get some attention (even though it's only a sponsored message). I've always loved playing the game; however i was always pretty dissapointed by the lack of activity as many rounds end up being completely dead, where out of a 100 players only 10 are left.

Man this timeline is so dystopian.
How so?
Why?
@@ciii4361 He said in the video Germany has managed to maintain its empire indefinitely thanks to the use of nuclear weapons.
This means German imperialism won't end. Germany is going will be far less willing to give up it's colonies. This means the age of imperialism will continue.
Imperialism is not good for the native people. It's going to be tons of genocide and attemptes at rebellion.
Germany would probably use nukes on rebels no problem tbh. The peoples of China and Russia are going to be stuck in blackwater hell holes.

Video suggestion:
You could make a video about how you would've liked world events to play out after a certain date (Treaty of Vienna, WW1, WW2, up to you) to modern times.

Great Work ! You are the best ❤️
Two Ideas:
- what if everything went optimally for the future of the world in WW1. I.e. as much tension as possible is resolved(e.g. shifting borders to fit ethnic lines), as little tension as possible is set up(e.g. germany doesn't get versaille'd) and imperialism/neoimperialism is killed as best as possible (no wilsonian imperialism or standard imperialism)
- what if the SA revolted against the SS/NSDAP after being tipped Off about hitler's plans to neuter them and kill off their top brass

Great Video,Keep it up bro ❤

There is no way that the Black Hundreds dont take over Russia, Action Française over France or that Germany allows Austria to break apart as that would mean more countries that could be influenced by other powers (specially Russia after it resettles), also you barely talked about Italy, that has a radically different position than in OTL
Problem is: Black hundredists were driven underground pretty soundly by the revolution, and at least the first decade would see a pretty much SR-Mensheviks domination, since they perfectly catered to the people that mattered in Russia at the time: the peasants and large factories workers.
Also there isn't a single introspection of Germany, that now has to deal with more french population in the west, nationalistic eastern puppets and inner political issues such as south-german nationalism (that would be strengthened due to the incorporation of Austria you propose in the video, although by that point it was less relevant as Wilhelm II stopped the discrimination against catholicism that Bismark started), colonial issues (that you mostly omit) and the leftist opposition, also they would need to spend lots of resources mantaining their sphere of influence in shape.
there's always room for a part three@@DonPedroman
Perfect Greece video!!! Please 🙏
"The Bulgarians after some soul searching might just take up the mantle of Yugoslavia" This statement was so unbelievably funny
As an Italian I like this scenario very much 🎉
As an Austrian I would still be quiet happy that we would keep South Tyrol

Short answer:

So bizzare seing Bulgaria being essentially Yugoslavia. Bulgaroslavia?
I have doubts that the Serbs, Bosnians and Croats would want to be a part of this super-Bulgaria, (Well, certainly the Serbs, at least.) And they would want independence.
Also, Greece is surprisingly tame during all this?
Forgot to add, but I think Bulgaria would be completely fine, having the territories you assigned here, at the of the video, and wouldn't want further expansion.
Bulgaria would pretty much have the same problems as the Serbs a few decades later.
I love this AU
The remainder being a greatly crippled Ottoman vassal
Beyond that, Ottomans could push for a pan Islam in the colonies of weakened Britain and France.
Cutting the Brits from the Suez, allowing much more effective revolts in British India.
probably the most interesting work of yours.
