Did that in my eu4 campaign as the usa. Fought the british again a few decades after the revolutionary war. Weakened them so much that is was the french that controlled most of india with the british only controlling a small part of bengal. The austrians, prussians, and french also declared a few wars here and there due to great britain not being strong enough and lacking good allies. Basically the austrians owned all of scotland, the prussians most of england (north and east including london), the french owning the southern parts of england, and irish states declaring independence. What was left of Great britain was wales, a bit of territory in west england, and a small part of east ireland.

I'd suggest the sweet scenario of no 2nd Balkan war after which Greece manages to get in on the entente side with Bulgaria in. They definitely need support for the Greco-Turkish war of 1920s. They mainly got to win this conflict to change their outcome for the future. Imagine they get helped and Turkye gets smashed. Greece would have a large base of operations outside of Europe. For its own size being on 2 continents be good. In ww2 they technically would have much more ability to resist the axis powers from the 2nd base of operations. It's not bad it you got a place to run to in cause there is a need. Wealthier, having moreman power and strategically better situated it gives Greece opportunities. I'd imagine No1 would really have a big problem with Greece getting further and further in Anatolia. If they could manage to neutralise the Turks in there then they could become a meaningful state in future.

I feel that Russia should have still lost in the crimean war in this timeline as it was this loss that finally woke up the Russian elite and Russia finally started properly modernizing. A better timeline for what if everything went perfect for Russia would be: 1. All goes the same until the Crimean war, then Russia started modernizing after their loss in that war (like in our timeline) and we can then let them be more successful at their modernizing reforms. We can have the Tsar Alexander II not be assassinated in 1881 and be more successful at his reforms. 2. We need to have either Tsar Nicholas II be replaced by someone more competent or simply have Nicholas II himself be a more capable emperor somehow. I also think that Russia holding onto alaska is very unrealistic as the area was simply too unprofitable to hold and Russia's military position in alaska was very weak compared to USA or the British empire. 3. Then we need to have Russian military be manned by much more competent people so that it wins its war against Japan in 1905 and also the first world war against Germany. 4. Whether or not Russia gets Constantinople depends on which nations military occupies it after the defeat of ottomans in the first world war. Britain back then would make false promises to its allies to keep everyone on board and then renege on those promises once the war was over. So, if Constantinople was occupied by British or any other countries military, then Russia would not get constantinople but if it was the Russian military which occupies Constantinople, then they would get it as their fair share of war spoils. We can just have this scenario happen here. 5. The condition in Russia was pretty bad before the war. Russia simply had too many systemic issues for the country to not go through some revolution. We will just have the revolution occur in 1920's after Turkey has been securely defeated in its war for independence (so that Russian gains in Constantinople are secured). 6. In the revolution, we shall have a fascist military dictator come to power instead of the communists. This is important because under communists, the birthrate in Russia massively declined. Under a more religiously minded regime, we can assume that the birthrate of Russian population be much better as religious populations tend to have higher birthrates. This will automatically cause Russia to be more powerful in the world stage as an inherent consequence of having a much larger population. 7. After this, we can have Russia follow the Spain model in which after a civil war, a right wing military dictator came to power but under the cultural and diplomatic influence of other western countries Spain modernized and ultimately became a democracy and a developed first world nation. Besides, there is precedence for this in Russian history in the person of Peter the great who was an autocratic ruler who emulated the west and introduced reforms in the country to make it an undeniable great power. We can have this neo Peter the great figure autocratically introduce reforms to post revolution Russia inspired by the west. Then Russia slowly becomes a democracy after the dictator's passing and becomes a developed first world nation. 8. With this, we can have world war 2 happen as it happened in our timeline and then, Russia becomes a rich first world developed country and with its great and growing population, large landmass and bountiful resources, become the strongest nation on earth by the later part of the 20th century, rivaled only by the USA.

I love that ATLA reference at 9:00 as the fire nation was probably meant to represent Imperial Japan, and you said "but everything changed when Japan attacked"
only issue i see, is that Austro Hungary would most likely got to agreement with Italy in this timeline, without Bulgaria, they would be forced to get an ally, instead of enemy in this region
If Italy joins on the Central Powers, then it's even possible Spain joins on the Entente, what basically compansates the allies both in navy and army, in exchange for Corsica. Also, better for France, who would possibly annex the entire Savoy.
@@Спирт-ъ3й Not that much. It was unstable, but still, looking at the perfermonce of Italy and Austria, it's really possible Spain would have punched way above it's class at that moment, in a similar fashion to Bulgaria.

There's a HOI4 mod called "Pax Britannica" Which basically has this scenario as the entire plot. It isn't too realistic though, because it includes steam work and robots a lot for no reason but it still has the basic jist.
Russia historically had much more radical plans for the German partition. Give France the whole Rhineland, make an independent Hannover, and give Russia ALL of the Prussia region.
It would be, the Germans needed their territories, in Russia, its territory of Rus'. So Poland would always be a thorn in the side of its neighbors, but it could unite with Russia in an alliance if it ceded a decent part of the territory.
Poland would lose the territories that went to the Russian Empire during the division of the lands and Carpathian Rus, which would make Russia more like the Soviet Union in the western territories. But Poland would have kept most of the German lands, as a result, it could be a little more than modern Poland. It would be stronger and could consolidate strong friendly relations with Russia. Otherwise, Russia would either have claims on its territory, or it would be more profitable for it to cooperate with the Germans, which would lead to the division of Poland.
Just before the war, Russian elites had promised independence to the Poles in all of the lands they incontestibly are the majority. Danzig and Polish corridor issues would be an open, bleeding wound in Germany's heart and Russia had a skillful diplomacy that would definitely use it and make sure Germany was occupied with issues in Poland. The Turkish straits are not so important as the access to the Mediterranean can be blocked via the Greek Islands, so Britain had come to terms with that too. So Russia would get Istanbul too.
It was precicely the internal politics that needed to be focused on. Russija becoming bigger would just cause more problems, it needed to reconsile with the fact that 50% of the population where not russijan and didnt want to be part of Russija.
Bruh almost all of these people wanted to be part of some form of Russian lead sphere. The only exceptions were the Baltics and parts of Poland. Nah that was Russia, followed by Belorus and Ukraine. Poland and the Baltics were poor compared to those, living in near medieval conditions. Again, even in those nations the public was devided on what it wanted to be. During Russia's great retreat in 1915, Polish writers noted the general feeling of sadness seeing the Russians leave as it felt like losing a distant relative. "No! Great Video as always. I have a quick question. How do you create your maps? I've been wanting to get into map creating for alternate history world-building but can't seem to find any nice blank maps, without modern boarders on them I'd have to spend hours erasing manually, or at high enough resolution to zoom in enough for more detailed edits.
Erasing the borders isn't that much of an issue. You could probably have that done in half an hour or so with a modern map. Just erase the ends that intersect bodies of water and then use the paint bucket tool to change the colour of the borders to the background colour. What really takes time is making border adjustments that make sense with the topography.

True but Alaska is not Mexico. The Spanish Empire was "the sick man in the Americans" Yes Washington might still try to just take it by force anyway but with no direct border access and both having mutual enemies with Canada & Britain they might decide is just more trouble than it's worth.
I have a scenario: what if bohemia united the hre? Basically, in this scenario, the luxembourg dynasty in bohemia doesn't die out with Sigismund, so bohemia doesn't get inherited by neither the habsburgs nor the jagellons. I personally thought that Austria would not be devided after the Great war, as the western powers saw it as a great buffer state between the west and Russia, and dismantled the empire because of the fall of Russia and the red rebellions. I belive we could see a smaller austria-Hungary (Owning Czechia Austria Hungary and maybe some of Transilvania) and possibly a less powerfull Germany
would the crimean war even happen as we know it in this scenario? I mean I don’t argue with ottoman beating o’clock mentality that the russian empire had and something similar would happen around those dates but not to that extent imo. The factor igniting that whole conflict is the back and forth transfer of church supervision priviliges in jerusalem between orthodox (russian supervised) and catholic (french supervised ) churches by the ottomans, which in this scenario a problem that egypt would face.

Global empire of Western Christendom consisting of Spain, Portugal, France, Britain and Ireland, the Americas, Holy Roman Empire, Hungary and Croatia, Sicily and Southern Italy, the Philippines, and several colonies in India and Africa.
Для Австрии и так всё сложилось идеально
I love that ATLA reference at 9:00
as the fire nation was probably meant to represent Imperial Japan, and you said "but everything changed when Japan attacked"
only issue i see, is that Austro Hungary would most likely got to agreement with Italy in this timeline, without Bulgaria, they would be forced to get an ally, instead of enemy in this region
If Italy joins on the Central Powers, then it's even possible Spain joins on the Entente, what basically compansates the allies both in navy and army, in exchange for Corsica. Also, better for France, who would possibly annex the entire Savoy.
@@ivandreuxzuev9473Spain was VERY weak and unstable, so probably no
@@Спирт-ъ3й Not that much. It was unstable, but still, looking at the perfermonce of Italy and Austria, it's really possible Spain would have punched way above it's class at that moment, in a similar fashion to Bulgaria.
Great video, scenario idea: What if America never became independent and remained a British colony? (As a result of a failed revolution, no revolution, etcetera)
There's a HOI4 mod called "Pax Britannica" Which basically has this scenario as the entire plot. It isn't too realistic though, because it includes steam work and robots a lot for no reason but it still has the basic jist.
Yeah it’s pretty interesting
Russia historically had much more radical plans for the German partition. Give France the whole Rhineland, make an independent Hannover, and give Russia ALL of the Prussia region.
you should do a 20th century sequel to this. Very good video
Great video. And mad props for the Avatar reference
Scenario Idea: What if everything went perfect for the Ottomans?
Your channel is one of the best alt history channels i know
I think a "What if the partitions of Poland didn't take place?" would be a cool idea for a video to make
It would be, the Germans needed their territories, in Russia, its territory of Rus'.
Who cares tho

What if Napoleon succeeded in his russian invasion

Thank you so much for making this video about Russia, I've been waiting for it for a very long time.
What if everything went perfect For Austria? Long live the Habsburgs?
Long Live Blessed Kaiser Karl! 🙏🏻
I love how the USA and the russian empire remain strong allies against the British empirecearly on and remain allies.
We need this video but for the Muhammed Ali's Egypt
I'd like a similar Video with Austria. That would be intresting
Honey, new Possible History video just dropped
“Tick tock! It’s beating up on the Ottomans-o-clock” Biggest W line ever
You forgot about the North side of Persia, both Russians and Brits were supposed to divide Persia into 3 parts.
Big Russia is good.
But Bigger Russia is better.
Love your content, PH! Stay cool as always
2:51 The Crimean war wouldn't have happened because it was triggered by dispute of European powers over the holy sites in Palestine
What if Chinese Song dynasty achieved industrial revolution? It was extremely likely in our timeline

I'm surprised this video exists. I was thinking about suggesting this idea in a comment, but I never suggested the idea.
3:02 this sound gave me PTSD from Victoria 2 rebels rising up
Just before the war, Russian elites had promised independence to the Poles in all of the lands they incontestibly are the majority.
Wow man, I love your videos, your maps are really well drawn and historically accurate. Good job👍👍
Amazing vid!
It was precicely the internal politics that needed to be focused on. Russija becoming bigger would just cause more problems, it needed to reconsile with the fact that 50% of the population where not russijan and didnt want to be part of Russija.
So many previous generations created a perfect decision - genocide + ethnocide
Bruh almost all of these people wanted to be part of some form of Russian lead sphere. The only exceptions were the Baltics and parts of Poland. Heck - both of Finland and Poland had civil wars because they could not decide if they wanted to be pro or anti Russian. Ukraine, Belorus, Khazachstan, Azerbaischjan, Georgia and Armenia immediatly sided with Russia in the civil war. So did Turkmenistan and Taschjikistan. Again, the only ethnicity in Russia that was really oposed to Russian rule were the Balts and Poles.
@@dwarow2508 "Bruh almost all of these people wanted to be part of some form of Russian lead sphere." No!
"The only exceptions were the Baltics and parts of Poland." The most cultured and economically developed parts of the empire. Only those who where less developed than the russijan core wanted to be propped up by it.
"Heck - both of Finland and Poland had civil wars because they could not decide if they wanted to be pro or anti Russian." No! They had civil wars over if they wanted to be capitalist or comunist, and in Estonia for example the moment the comunists announced they wanted to join with Russijan Soviet Socialist Republic they lost all support so no civil war in Estonia.

"The most cultured and economically developed parts of the empire. Only those who where less developed than the russijan core wanted to be propped up by it."
"No! They had civil wars over if they wanted to be capitalist or comunist, and in Estonia for example the moment the comunists announced they wanted to join with Russijan Soviet Socialist Republic they lost all support so no civil war in Estonia."
No! They had civil wars about who they wanted to side with. The capitalist Estonians for example fought against the whites while siding with the Soviet Russians. Meanwhile the Soviet Russians recognized the independence of white Finland even before the Finish civil war.
"What paralel universe did you come from? Because that never happened here."
Cope harder, it literally did.

next: what if things were perfect for habsburg monarch?
What if Carlos II of spain had a true son?
Hey,bro. Can you please an alternate history scenario for Pakistan?
Suggestions: What if everything went perfect for:
France
Austria

India
Japan

What if everything went perfect for Britain. And can, we get a part 2 to the 3 America superpowers.
When I first saw a video of this channel I thought, based on the title and the thumbnail, that is was going to be bollocks. Then I watched a video of yours, and I am glad you did. Very deep analysis, no crazy nationalistic theories. And I am enjoying imagining what ifs
Scenario idea: What if everything went PERFECT for Serbia?
Mihajlo Bogdanović
As a Swede, I object to this on a spiritual level.
As a Pole the same.
Could you please do what if everything went perfect for the Inca Empire? It's a really interesting and underrated nation and it was practically the worst possible timing for the Spanish Empire to invade them when they did, so i think it would be interesting if the Inca's managed to survive. Love your channel!
What if everything went right for Italy? (Eg Italy unifies far earlier)
Do Italy next
Love this series!
4:20 thats what mexico did and it didnt work out well
True but Alaska is not Mexico.
I really want to see this kind of scenario, and how it would affect the HRE as a whole.
It would be interesting to see this video begin with seven years war
"But everything changed, when the FIRE NATION attacked."
Idea for scenario: what if everything went perfect for polish-lituanian commonwealth
Ok odd request - do this but for Austria starting prior to the brothers war. I’m interested to see your take on an Austrian Europe.

would the crimean war even happen as we know it in this scenario? I mean I don’t argue with ottoman beating o’clock mentality that the russian empire had and something similar would happen around those dates but not to that extent imo. The factor igniting that whole conflict is the back and forth transfer of church supervision priviliges in jerusalem between orthodox (russian supervised) and catholic (french supervised ) churches by the ottomans, which in this scenario a problem that egypt would face.
