Its weird though, I never pictured Blixa having to eat. I always assumed he drew sustenance from the screaming chaos of the universe and used it as fuel to make sounds no mortal can fully comprehend.
I saw that a Cpl weeks back, so fucking funny. Then I stumbled on this today and thought - wtf - is there some underground cooking channel going on I should know about...
I notice that so many people developed quite an obsession for this man, I wonder what he's thinking about it. there's some vanity in him, I can feel it, but also some humbleness
He's quite egocentric and can come across as arrogant, and cares a lot about how others see him, although I really think it's a cover for shyness and anxiety. Usually he's quite defensive in interviews, but he rarely holds eye contact and I think he finds small talk or shallow subjects quite tedious stressful. I used to be absolutely obsessed with him, though years later I've gotten back into his music and watching interviews, he's an interesting person who thinks a lot about stuff to the point where it can sound a bit abstract or detached from reality, but I think he's an interesting person. I noticed here the chef was very gentle, and I didn't see that usual defensiveness at all here which sort of backs up my theory that he is actually very shy or socially anxious.

Yes me too, I found Biolek cooking actually dull, but the show with Blixa was great. But you must not forget what Biolek has done such great things in his life, Monty Python in German, etc..
i love the shit they talk about in this video i didnt realize it when i first watched this but i've taken a lot of this shit to heart since for one thing, dont press garlic yr gonna saute (he's entirely right about this), but more importantly, understanding how memory plays into "taste" (in almost every sense of the word) is incredibly important prepping a meal with blixa bargeld would be a fucking fantastic experience imo
Biolek MEETS Blixa ... I actually like this as much as my favorite film "The WOLFMAN meets FRANKENSTEIN" ... I ♥ Blixa ... Platonically, Musically, and now CULINARILY !!! ... what more can one admire in a role model ???
It's like watching a really good cooking show. I was feeling quite full before this, now I'm feeling hungry. Plus, the risotto matches Blixa's outfit. Awesome.
Great! This somehow reminded me of the wine tasting webcast Neubauten did which eventually became the 8th Musterhaus. Blixa is definitely a foodie and a wine buff as am I. Now I want to cook something.
I remember seeing this in the original broadcast. sepia with its ink....... delicious. often cooked in mediterranean countries, mainly the coastal regions.
thank you SO MUCH for posting this! bouncing my love off the full moon right now to you and all of us on the planet and beyond... and now i want some risotto... is Blixa using black rice or is the dish black from squid ink? viele danke! many thanks!
If you search for The Nomi Song Documentary you'll find a complete upload of a fascinating documentary about Klaus (the 3rd video down) and it includes this clip of him on some cooking show, as well as a fascinating portait of this offbeat personality who tragically died all too young.
Well then obviously you never saw Klaus Nomi make his desserts (I am a bigger fan of Blix but, it was just so surreal watching Nomi showing off the desserts he made, while in full makeup).

close your eyes and listen closely to the spoon hitting the pan, this is actually a neubauten song
Einstürzende Neukochtopf!
😂
Caramba!!! Sim!

He makes cooking videos on patreon
Cooking some black risotto on german television - Blixa Bargeld is clearly the king of Goth,
Notice how Blixa pauses when asked what memories or events risotto awakens. Clearly, this is a man tortured by a brothy, rice dish-filled past.
He has such a polite way of sidestepping the question.
I am laughing like an idiot 9 years after you made this comment. Thank you :)
there's not a grain of truth to those rice rumours
Tabula Rissoto
Blixa points out 2 important, lesser known rules: 1:Risotto must match your outfit. 2: Always place the un-engaged hand in your pocket while stirring.
HAHA. Gold!
So Dandy

Father why are all the onions weeping?
They are merely frying, son.
@@Dean4471 Oh, are they merely frying, father?

yes,
true weeping is yet
to come
But they won't be weeping long.
...on next week's show, Nick Cave will be here showing us how to re-tile your bathroom...
Dammit, can only give one thumbs up
2 years late. Funny funny :)
Changing your spark plugs with Marc Almond and Jim Thirlwell teaching you how to make your own homemade scented candles.
Whether black tiles in the bathroom really look good?
Next Thursday evening Kate Bush joins us from Sussex where she has surprised her neighbours with her adeptness at grouting.
Cooking black food, waring a sharp suit and keeping one hand in your pocket: COOL.
i couldnt even focus on the subtitles because blixa's so cute
Ya know Blixa made it big time when we watch him cook risotto
Yeah, it's like that video of Paul McCartney making mashed potatoes
Just stumbled across this. Just wanted to say that this, alone, a justifies the existence of the internet...
This is the most rock n' roll cooking program I have ever seen.
The video of David Lynch making quinoa sent me here. I hope there's one of John Balance making gingerbread up next.
I saw that a Cpl weeks back, so fucking funny. Then I stumbled on this today and thought - wtf - is there some underground cooking channel going on I should know about...
If I ever find a video of Peter Murphy making a tagine or shawarma, that would round off the playlist just perfectly.
that's some seriously goth risotto, blixa. nice. god, you are hot.
you misinterpret
sportsfreundberlin wie so?

He’s worth the devotion. He’s one of the great musicians of our age. He is extremely kind and open with his fans as well since he’s matured.

I watched Blixa Bargeld play amplified power tools in the desert. His talent and depth is mesmerizing.
" im black all over, thank you" i say the same thing whenever i finish a neubauten song
Blixa you can cook in my kitchen anyday.
They absolutely need to do a whole series. Even 20 years or so later. And they should of course only be allowed to cook black coloured food.
"the tasting tongue and the speaking tongue exclude each other" BRILLIANT
the luckiest calamari that ever lived
Or fried
I feel like I've just seen something forbidden
i mean, blixa certainly is accustomed to pots and pans……..
Cooking with Blixa Bargeld is one of th coolest things!
How is It possible to be so fucking cool? How do I manage to look like that while cooking?
exactly
Blixa truly is a sweet man.
this is what I watch at 1 am
I dunno how many times I've watched this one.
as an Italian, I can certify Blixa has class
I remember watching this episode with Blixa and Alfred when I lived in Munich in the 90s. Biolek was a fantastic cook and host. Thanks for posting.
Yes me too, I found Biolek cooking actually dull, but the show with Blixa was great. But you must not forget what Biolek has done such great things in his life, Monty Python in German, etc..
I guess that Blixa also drenched himself into calamari ink up to the neck
Love this! Now I want to see Andrew Eldrich make an omelette and PJ Harvey make Lobster Thermidor
peter murphy makes a ny strip steak
Nick Cave bakes muffins
The real title of this video "Watch it and get pregnant!"
Every time I watch this video I come. #TMI
Hehe, mit links rühren, die rechte in der hosentasche.
still the best video on youtube.
Honestly I just don't even know anymore
The Interim Risotto.
sein sprachstil ist phänomenal
he looks good here, super relaxed.
i bought a ceramic knife because of this video 🖤
Why this is not on pornhub
Exactly!
Syd Barrett IKR?? Gentlemen, if you model yourself after Blixa in this clip, that would certainly give lady boners to the right women. **sigh**
or just normal boners to guys
I prefer it here. If my husband thinks im just learning German by looking up recipes he'll get less jealous.
best. comment. ever.
goth juice (made of robert smith's tears) should be added to this risotto
thats why its black
Liked this even before watching.
You will find me if you want me in the rice fieldk, unless it's pouring down with rain...
This may seem monotonous, but I'd love to see the entire recording.
it's still pretty lively as for German TV standards
Hahaha, Keramikmesser! Schon immer Avantgarde.
The man knows his calamari. Meeeowwwww! But seriously- this is great. Love always Blixa♥
I'm having such a good time
Blixa's next book..."Plate Cleaner"
He's so calm and confident. Blixa = so very sexy. Xx

I wish this would be your colour.
Blixa giving off a really un-blixaistic(?) smile... my world is upside down...
Futter mein ego!
Goodness me, it's Blixa waggling a spoon.
Qué guapo este hombre. Nunca dejaré de admirar su belleza, su locura, su talento. Ahora está gordo, robusto y más viejo, pero está como el buen vino.

This makes me laugh much more than it has any right to.
Always wanted to see this, thanks!
"Children usually don't have a specific taste..." I wonder what's in that risotto...
It clearly wouldn't be an issue if he got any of that squid ink on his outfit.
It first aired on April 23 1995.
this is the best thing ever.
This is so sweet!!lol
I'm enjoying this cooking lesson on Blixa's 62nd birthday. Wonder if his cake was black... 🖤
as malevich's square.
I have hitherto never been so captivated watching risotto being made.
It's like watching a really good cooking show. I was feeling quite full before this, now I'm feeling hungry. Plus, the risotto matches Blixa's outfit. Awesome.
Yes but can someone explain me why was he cooking risotto in a tv program?
It's a show from the 90s where the host used to cook and talk with celebrities. Quite successful at the time.
Because he could. He was already an accomplished cook at this young age.
Sort of love this.
The video I had no idea I wanted to see so badly. A created need, fulfilled in one economical action-- thanks for the Very Meta upload. 🙃😂😋👍
That's the weirdest looking meal I've ever seen.
Love it!
Wow! When was this shot? It's amazing to see Blixa cooking. I love the tone and timber of his voice when he's talking about food and cooking here.
dat voice tho.
Blixa is HOT!
of course the risotto is black! Lol

He hardly seems bored (at least not in German).
genesis p-orridge makes porridge
This is fascinating. It looks amazing...and terrifying!
Aw this is surreal...
Alla fine del video, il conduttore si pulisce la bocca con le mani. Tipica classe teutonica!
This reminded me of Teleshop, especially the part about the ceramic knife.
I remember seeing this in the original broadcast. sepia with its ink....... delicious. often cooked in mediterranean countries, mainly the coastal regions.
a typical day in german television
