I always break out laughing when Blixa goes "If I died tomorrow I wouldn't be happy" and then Mick does an expression and replies "Who would?" that's just... a priceless moment.
Filmed in Australia. The red brick of the post WWI bungalo. Melbourne Victoria references in there. John Hillcoat, directer of 'Ghosts Of The Civil Dead', 'asking' the questions.
Really funny, glad I listened to that interview, Blixa, is very intelegent, but Mick too, just don't show it off. Amazing guys. Big Mick Harvey fan. Oh, I didn't realize Bernard Herman Studied under Bartok. Jesus, amazing.
This is just TOO CUTE! Blixa 'n' Mick, hungover, slurpin' hair-of-the-dog wine (at least Blixa is, anyway) takin' the piss out of each other (when Mick imitates Blixa's accent and gives a mock explanation of what "Blixa Bargeld" means, I just about DIED!) and riffin' about Hollywood movie soundtracks and just what constitutes a prison film ("...COOL HAND LUKE, it's a PRISON-FARM film...I don't like the prison parts of that film...it's a [Boys Own?] film...") and missing tin-whistles and tables ("Did you get a receipt for it?") Hilarious! I only wish Nick had been there.
Yep, I miss hearing them work together, too. They're all fairly good on their own, but together those three (with NIck, being the third, obviously) were unbeatable.
If I died tomorrow I wouldn't be happy - who would?...well, my father felt he had finsihed his life's work after 33 years of effort. He was .. had a satisfied mind let us say. As for Blixa, 3 Cheers for German concern and brevity. And larrikin community. Tattooed Tears - I think I seen some o'those. Had some described to me once. Thanks, mr.harvey.
EatPieYes: Hello there! Fancy seeing you here! (By the way, I think you're right: the wine glass *does* say it all, as does Mick's remark at 2:50 - "Oh *great* , the *light's* on fire. Anyway..." (I swear, I think I'm gonna have to steal that line and mix it up into one of my poems). Do you like Blixa?
Nick's way too enamoured with Warren Ellis and these guys know it. I wouldn't be surprised if it was Ellis' ever increasing presence that pushed these guys away in the first place.
hah ok listen i just saw this, and i love this, and if you love this too, you should look up "Three wise men: The riotous time Shane MacGowan, Nick Cave and Mark E. Smith met"-same energy
I have just realized that I hate Mick's accent. Don't know why, his backing vocals were always on point but watching this interview I realized I have always found his speaking voice and accent annoying. Still love him tho
What does Mr. Harvey say? Shut the fuck up about Elio Petri's masterpiece "indagine su un cittadino al di sopra di ogni sospetto", take your time and don't say bullshits...
Hah, quite right. I think I was mixing it up with another film and actually hadn't even seen '....Citizen Above Suspicion' at that time. So that was a mistake and a good call by you. That film is genius. Sorry to (accidentally) disparage it
Gee let's see... he's gorgeous, tall and handsome, artistic, mysterious, interesting, confident, and has a velvety deep voice. Just don't know what we women could possibly see in him lol.
He is far from gorgeous. Looks like a slightly more handsome Bowie. But that’s still miles from model worthy. Also he is not “mysterious”. If you equate his bratty petulant “I’m forever an angst ridden teenager” attitude, with mystery, then you need your head checked. Don’t even reply fool. You will lose, BADLY.

I just want to listen to Blixa talk, forever. I fancy the way he speaks.
I absolutely love Blixa's accent. "All zis sings sitting next to his chair.."
Blixa's dead gorgeous. Oh Lord ...

Blixa's voice = ASMR 😎
Besides being a genius; Why is Blixa so gorgeous (sigh) 😌!
Blixa is an Ennio Morricone fan? Damn that makes a wonderful amount of sense
I love that Blixa spoke English with a hint of an Australian accent.
Nick influence ;)
Definitely
"oh great, the light's on fire. anyways"
Blixa laughing at the fire. Classic. Pyro.
This has to be my favourite interview I've ever seen of anyone :'D
There's a smell of a hangover on this interview
Mick NAILED that Blixa impression lmao
"Ah I means nawthing really. Blixa means cash! Bargeld means nawthing'.
LMAO!
Blixa is sooooo beautiful *sigh*
What a beautiful couple;-)
I can't wipe the smile from my face as I watch this:-)

Nicely put Julee. I like how open Blixa is about his Ennio Morricone inspiration

Omg blixas English accent sounds Australian that's so cute
Blixa, the master.
Yep, I miss hearing them work together, too. They're all fairly good on their own, but together those three (with NIck, being the third, obviously) were unbeatable.

The wine glass says it all.

@@elizabethhann4028 Of course I like Blixa.
Boys, come back. Nick seriously needs your help!

Please never introduce yourself to me then (Hahaha!!) You would hate it!!
@@MickHarv Lol sorry Mick! Don't know what compelled me to write that 6 years ago. I might not be a fan of your accent but I sure love your music

@@MickHarv I agree, but I was young and impulsive. Didn’t mean to be offensive
Bargeld is very effete. I don’t get why women are into him.
