I just bought a filter for 36.00 . It has the exact label xwfe as the original. I put it in and it wouldnt work. I got a refund with the company and PayPal. They said to keep it. I put the old filter back. I may try this. Problem is what if its counterfeit and hollow.
@@normantrahan3438 most likely the XWFE you bought is counterfeit and they put the XWFE sticker to sell it more expensive but the label does not have a RFID to make the fridge work. Keep the original label and use this trick to use normal filters. Please consider subscribing to my channel or a $thanks. It will help me on doing more videos like this. Use this trick to buy a XWF filter ($10) instead of a GE XWFE one ($55), which are the exact same thing but with a RFID tag.
AWESOME. Thank you SO much!!

That is smart!
I do the same thing with my printer cartridges. I move the chip to the new generic cartridges.
Smart guy! 👍👍👍
