Was the last game I had been playing before my 360 crashed for like the umpteenth time. Was a disk drive issue but I squeezed a good couple years out of this game and senoritis kicked like a horse so I didn't do anything about it. Life got pretty busy for the next 5 years that had followed but this game I saw was SUPER cheap on the marketplace a little over a year ago and I still play it vanilla. Haven't spent the crazy amount of hours I did as a kid but it's fun to remember all the side quest as I'm positive I 100 percented this bitch. Gaming kinda got weird too after this game

Just slay them and bath in Victory.
I never forget the moment when i got my first homestead.
After a long journey, just to rest in your cozy home where you can stay for a couple of days and just enjoy the life.

“I hope Skyrim has helped you in some way throughout your life". Hell, yes.
In 2011 I played Skyrim for the first time and really liked the dragon language in that game. Then I started learning English. Now I'm studying to become a translator. Of course, I won't become a master of the Voice, but Words can really change the world around us. This game changed my whole life, became the beginning of my work, repeatedly supported me in difficult situations. I am crying.

    • @Ball1501
      @Ball1501 2 роки тому +11

I'm a translator. I was halfway through college when I first played Skyrim, and, like most games I've played, it helped me develop my English skills, apart from the fun I've always had with it. I've since graduated and started working in the field, and I am now transitioning to simultaneous interpretation. Loving languages and games has always been a part of that.

Skyrim got me through my dad’s death. We were very close. I wasn’t much of a gamer, and I wasn’t fond of turning to drugs, smoking, or alcohol to cope with the loss, so I turned to movies, music, exercise, but it just wasn’t enough. I bought and loaded up Skyrim on my new Xbox I got for Christmas in 2011. Damn it felt good to get lost in that world. We just saw the movie Thor together before his death and the Viking-esque game was nostalgic and awesome. It made me miss him, but I also felt closer to him, like he was right there with me on a continent called Tamriel on a world called Nirn in a Realm called Mundus, in a Void called the Aurbis, called a game disc. Bless my sweet wife who helped me through that time. She watched me play and we have so many fond memories of the game - everything from the cool intense parts to the downright hilarious glitches and awkward encounters. Skyrim will always hold a special place in my heart.

I wasn't expecting that to make me cry. Like, that hit a special place in my heart. Skyrim has been my favorite game since I first played it, just a couple days after it released. The day it came out was also my wedding day. For our 3rd anniversary, we got matching Thieves Guild tattoos. Since then I got into streaming it, working on mod projects, and writing fics. When I had a health scare, I played nothing but Skyrim between episodes of the office while recovering after getting out of the hospital. Skyrim is home and comfort for me. Since playing Skyrim for the first time, I have: lost my mom, lost my sister, dropped out of high school, became an addict, became homeless, got clean, got a job, got an apartment, got addicted again, got clean again, lost my dad, and finally completed a dream in building a dream PC with my own money. I have dovahzul tattooed on my right arm for a reason. This is the only game I have played consistently through all my hardship.
EDIT: I appreciate all the kinds words. I got addicted once again but I am currently fighting it. As of today, 1/27/22, I am in recovery. I'm doing quite well. I have a very organized program in place and things are looking really good. Every other time I have been this far into withdrawal, I've felt so much worse than I do right now. Now I'm studying, I'm getting support from the few people that I do have, and I'm having fun playing Skyrim. By 2023 my life will be on a fast upward trajectory, and I hope my parents are looking down on me smiling. I am always looking up to them.

I don't know if it's too late to suggest this and what's in your area but I've worked for the Amazon company for the last 6 years. That company right now, like most others at the moment, is DESPERATE for more employees. So much so that they're not firing people that smoke weed in the parking lot when they're on break as well as people that they would have fired 3 years ago for rates being too low. They've always had a high turnover rate, and with the advent of almost a whole generation of people fresh out of high school in the US that don't want to work they've started offering up to 60 hours of voluntary overtime (VET. They say 'extra' time, not over-time but it's the same thing) almost every week (for most of last year that was the case) and when sales are up they're even going so far as to sometimes offer *DOUBLE base-pay* for overtime instead of time-and-a-half. For 6 solid weeks we worked (Mandatory overtime) 60 hours with the overtime being double base-pay, meaning two weeks of pay in a single week, every week. It was tiring, but now that peak is over scheduling is going back to normal.
If there's a warehouse less than 12 miles away, get yourself a bike. It'll burn your leg muscles for awhile, but you'll still be able to not lose your place at the very least.

In the late evenings, when he's asleep, I'm visiting Skyrim to get some relief and charge my batteries. I've played Morrowind and Oblivion a lot in my school days, but I've bought Skyrim only couple of months ago. Since that time, fighting with dragons, exploring different locations, helping Skyrim people or just wandering across whole open world - all this stuff helps me going through as well.
I've never thought, that Skyrim may be also some kind of therapy to autistic person. I think, I will introduce my little son to it, when he grows old enough. Thank you for sharing that! :-)

Even the hope that comes from memories of that shiny world will fade sooner or later. You realise that it's all gone and means nothing.
We can live _for_ the moment, as the moment continues to also become less and less enjoyable due to loss and the disabilities of age...
Or we can make the most of the moment while planning for the future and better times to come (wisdom gained from your past). That's the only way to survive on an eternal scale - never losing hope in the future.

When Skyrim was first released, I was only 13. My friends and I would play it often, talking about our adventures over lunch in the school cafeteria. Since it's release, I've graduated high school, lived in a foreign country for two years, met the love of my life and been married, had a daughter, am expecting a second child, and will be graduating with a B.S. in psychology this upcoming month. Most of my friends from all those years ago are following similar paths. This game will always be a part of my coming of age. I used to listen to the soundtrack late at night when my anxiety/depression was bad. Skyrim is a masterpiece. There will never be another like it. Thanks, Bethesda!

I… am just tearing up. Skyrim has helped me many times in just enjoying my life outright. The experience was great, I loved every second even if it was getting my skull caved in by a Troll. Thank you, Skyrim for the memories and gameplay.

Never has the skyrim guard made me so emotional.
I still remember in 2013 buying skyrim off of steam and playing it for the first time on my crappy laptop. Good times.

Man. This hit me harder than Steve did. I appreciated what Steve had to say, but I was a little older than the demographic he was addressing. Same "generation group" or whatever, just a bit on the older-side so I never watched much Blue's Clues. But this? This got to me. I didn't break down or anything, but I felt a pang of emotional attachment and appreciation.

I first played Skyrim when I was trying to get out of an abuse situation. Even when I was stuck, I could play Skyrim to feel free. And as a professional musician, I really appreciated the music and how listening to it could give me the courage to make it through the day. I’m no longer going through that abuse, but Skyrim is always there for me whenever I need an adventure.

Play Skyrim back in 2013. I was hella scared at first because of the skeleton and other creatures around Skyrim but as I grew up I started to not be afraid of them and went after all the creatures without hesitation. Throughout the years, it’s been rough with an abusive family and people that never understood me at all. I was always the outcast. I had no friends I could relate to. I had no one but Lydia as my companion and friend. But Skyrim kept me from suicidal thoughts. It gave me a home to be in when I was trap in a prison of hell. It gave me the power to be who I want and let me meet all kinds of people. I will never forget what this game did for me.

Skyrim launched in my last year of high school. I have continually gone back to this game over and over since then, through college, dead end jobs after college, going back to school, and landing in my full-time career. I bet I'll still keep coming back to it in the future too, the same way I do with Oblivion. Some games just never get old.

Skyrim introduced me to a world that I could escape to. I’ll never forget what it did for me, and for me and many others it will always stay in our hearts as one of the best games we’ve ever played.
We will never forget the hours upon hours we spent playing that game instead of studying or doing homework. We will never forget the amount of anger we would have trying to get through Blackreach. And most importantly we will never forget about the guards, cause god those guys are funny. Here’s to hoping ES6 will be just as good

I love how this was posted as a parody of the Blues Clues announcement, but it actually went on to touch the hearts of so many people.
Here's hoping they put a retired Whiterun guard in the next game as a companion. Always wears a helmet, but has ripped off his sleeves to show of tats and guns, and has a serious limp from a knee injury, but you know players would love and travel with him through entire games patiently waiting for him to catch up.😁
This game makes me dream of possibilities like this.❤

I mean, if the rumors are true and ES6 will be in High Rock and Hammerfell, then it would be easy for them to put a retired nord Whiterun guard at the High Rock portion of the map, next to where it touches the Skyrim border. There could be more references too, like a city in that mountain chain that resembles Markarth and such.
