Just in reply to some of the comments that i've read here, I'd like to say that I have had the privilege of seeing Ean play live in Toronto, together with Richie Hawtin, Marc Houle, and Justin James, and his set was nothing short of spectacular. Truly an innovator with your craft.
One thing that could impart a *clearer and punchier* signal!... With a set-up like this, you should check the impedance of the aux send/returns on the mixer (likely in the manual). Guitar pedals always are designed around high-impedance unbalanced signals (or Hi-Z, i.e. guitar/bass etc.), while analog mixers tend to be designed around low-impedance balanced signals. When guitar pedals are used as outboard gear in the studio a "re-amp" device is used to match the impedances and balance/unbalance the signal. I personally use a pigtronix key master because of its simplicity/flexibility but any re-amp device should work. There are a million guitar pedals on the market and there is no reason they can't be used as hi-fi effects units.
Most pedals are unbalanced and the Fx Send / Return input / output jacks on the DJ desk are balanced so you need a DI Box to make the unbalanced signal turn in a balanced signal. it's even mandatory if you are using long low quality jack - jack cables you could get hum, buzz and noises...
thanks dude., been a dj for 34 years professionally and this is like icing opn the cake. i no longer have decks, or my controller, but with 2 x 1's, a Z1, a microKORG, an numark analog 2 (+1 (line/mic)) channel mixer with analog controlled digital fx (unbelievable including a never ending tape delay and the best filter i have EVER heard. i have experience dj'ing with effects as for years, alongside my 1200's i ALWAYS had a mixer with aux send/ return to use my DigiTECH DSP 128+ rack mount fx unit. i been remixing records live since 1997, so of course i have a newly acquired Malekko Echo ID-300 Bright Analog Delay Pedal, and even though i don't have send/ returns on this numark, i have that 3rd stereo channel with eq and can apply a whole different slew of it's digital fx, including a vocoder (!) and then i have a really shitty gemini ''mixer'' (which i don't even know how it got here, tbh). this allows me to have the effect petal on channnel 1, and the microKORG on channel 2. as well as a second microphone (one mic per mixer (or another line, via the gemini). alternatively, i could use the gutiar pedal in between the KORG and my Numark, instead of on its own channel. then again i could always just use it for vox effects connecting a mic directly into the pedal. the best part is that i now can record externally as you've managed to make sense of the input/ output routing and such. even though i went to school for music uindustry arts back while digital production and dj'ing was still in its infancy, using both analog 2'' tape recording, MIDI, and digital producing/ recording, (Logic/ Protools), and even with all that, it has been a complete nightmare to get my head to properly wrap around all of this. i still have to physically draw out my setups. I would like to add one more thing - you need to work on gain structure a little, you should have the channel faders at that 0 DB mark (it's next to the 0DB light, there is a scale on the other side of the slider) and try to keep EVERY channel at 0DB or under, or at most, a tiny flash to 3DB (that's for running 2 channels also, if you are doing 3 or more each time you need to pull down all the other channels to keep the master near 0db..). I know you touch on it a little about how in a digital mixer it would be distorting, still, even with the 'nice' saturation of master out of Xone 92 running at 3-6DB output light, it is not as 'clean' as running master at 0db (or 3DB max). It would have been very useful for me if I saw it some years ago before going on my quest to combine my guitar pedal board with my DJ rig :)
I commented on a A&H post about this recently and they responded saying the same was Xone has plenty of headroom and it's not a problem. So are the channel VU's just for show? Do they accept that so many DJ's redline they have made them 'vanity' VU meters?
@@THE_Container due to being analog mixer with headroom it won't clip in a nasty way, but it will saturate from the summing of higher levels in the channels. very nice video... but you forgot to zoom in and explain a bit more the configuration on the Aux channels actual console. like the Duck boutton and sutch. thats the part i was interested about. great stuff
Thanks for this video currently running a DJM-250Mk2 and the X1Mk2 been looking for a unique alternative to the traditional CDJ set up many of my friends currently run planning on doing this same set up eventually with the 92 and duel X1s but with a different FX unit and drum machine
Thanks for the video, great to see how you’ve set it up. Unfortunately I’m confused. In the one hand you explain how the analog element allows for cleaner sound without distortion but then go on to say you will need a sound card 🤔 I’ve not had any issues running my sound source directly into the channel. So I dont understand?
Not worried about impedance matching etc , as you're using guitar effects pedals that are expecting instrument level signal and you're running line level signal into them?
Ean your musicianship is just ok, but you are possibly the best user of equipment in the world, at least one of the best I've seen. Your movements are inspiring. Keep it up. More performances please.
This is what we call a "backhanded compliment"; kind of an insult hidden inside a compliment. Musicianship is a matter of opinion and personal taste. Let's just say Ean is amazing at using the equipment, and a great instructor, and leave it at that. As a complete newbie, I personally really appreciate the time and effort that goes into making these tutorials that are so clear, informative and instructional. No backhand needed.
the pioneer in this kind of djing was speedy-j in the year 99 i guess with ,first with two hardware samplers (yamaha su700)& the laptop working as effect processor connected to the aux sends of a xone 464.. and later with traktor & live+machine+xone 92 ..and now with an octatrack.
I always thought it would be so cool if someone took a baby/grand piano & somehow hooked it up as kind of like an 8 track/drum machine/ synthesizer but also still could stay a real piano as well
@@Ray_Koren no effing way. I'm doing it right fucking now and I have never been more serious about anything in my life, okay something maybe training my dog LOL
I was just wondering what type of cable Ean is running from the soundcard to the mixer? Where would you get these or is Ean making them himself? Are they 1/4 to RCA? Any help will be appreciated. Wanting to create a similar setup using an analogue mixer.
So do all analog mixers imperatively need an external soundcard in order to function? Also when you say "this is why this mixer is so good" you're essentially refering to the extended routing possibilities, correct? Thank you for the great video!
I'm seriously considering getting a Xone 92, even in 2020, always loved the look of it, but torn between getting that and the Xone PX5 being it has the USB connection on the back. Obviously there's the Xone 96 but that's a little out of my price range right now. I have a komplete Audio 6 MK2, i was wondering if i could replicate this setup using it, for 3 decks from Traktor Pro 3, if so what cables would i need? I was just looking at an 8x 6.3mm Jack Mono to 8x RCA Male Multicore Cable, would that work with the Xone 92 and my Audio 6 Mk2?! I'm guessing it wouldn't being it only has 4 out and 6 in. I noticed the the Traktor Audio 10 is now discontinued also.
The Xone 96 has some refinements and enough of a difference in the sound quality to make it worth it, imo. I had a 92 but was blown away by the 96 when I had it.
Hey man Really appreciate your video and your creativity I was wondering can I use Xone 43 instead of Xone 92 So Xone 43 - TR8 - dual Traktor X1 - NI 6 Audio interface?
wait a second, this is a great mixer no doubt but vestax was implementing exactly the same kind of FX possibilities years before, on their PCV-275 for instance, it's not such a "unique" feature for the xone to be able and do so (thanks for the tuto tho I'm currently mixing on this vestax and was wondering if I could find a similar FX section on the xone, now I know it has it!)
Jacob Stadtfeldld he adjustes the tempo manually. if you want the tr8 to follow the master tempo, you need a midi clock send signal, which traktor s4 has.
Ken Sheldon Ken - Ean often removes knobs from gear that he doesn't use or want to accidentally trigger - similar to why he adds Chroma Cap to the knobs that he DOES want to use the most often
Just wondering, anything you don't like about the Reverb or Delay on the TR8? Also, have you tried routing the TR8 through Traktors effects with a live input deck?
but in this case it is better to connect the tr8 to one of the two stereo channels of the left, like the effect return..this would leave you the 4th main channel free for the 4th traktor deck !
Great video ...where is the initial Midi clock coming from to time the RD8? Is it coming directly from Traktor or passing through the mixing desks MIDI out? Cheers
Ah crap, I'm gonna do another post. One more thing you can add to this setup that I've only realised recently while researching rotary and older mixers, is how DJ Isolators were more popular in the past, have some people that still use and love them and how the new Richie Hawtins mixer is going to focus on this and scrap the traditional EQ ( ua-cam.com/video/q5iGjVVmCpg/v-deo.html ) - I am really interested now to add a couple of isolators to the master output channels to experiment with this. I also just found out that the DB4 has some features like this, however I really love analog mixers so I didn't really look into it (along with the various issues I've heard about it..). Love my Xone 92 and this is a great tutorial for people to better understand the 'console' feature of aux send/returns and how you can creatively use it. I too like you first tried connecting direct to effects - I assure you it gets so much better once you start .. 'reinforcing'? the send with ground isolators, good power supplies (unless you like recharging/buying a lot of batteries and having them fail on you during sets), voltage droppers for that battery draining effect without the pain of saving up dying batteries (lol seriously guitarists like me did this), loop feedbackers to expand on the routing possibilites and to keep a cleaner signal by bypassing the effects for the moments they are not in use but the return channel is audible, or to utilise the return channel as an extra input channel so it runs open fader in unison with the dry channel, noise supressors like the ISP range in order to clean up guitar pedals (some pedals are just noisy), noise gates to get nice chopped sounds, trying a laptop and software effects to save money and increase possibilities rather than buying lots of hardware, getting good quality leads / connectors for your patch cables (even to the point of sometimes getting quality adaptors over cables, where the pedals can fit joined side by side in order to reduce 'cable length' by getting rid of the cable (and possibly a better quality signal by also removing another 'link' in the chain, by making a 'cable' without the actual cable [just connectors]), little things to keep your cables off the ground / crossing over each other (except in a cross shape) and to separate power and audio cables, having SEPARATE power circuits for your power and audio cables, quality UPS or power conditioner to remove/help audible issues that may arise from poor quality power connection to your venue/studio/house/performance space.. there are so many things you can think about when it comes to analog/guitar effect rigs, when it comes down to aiming for the 'highest quality' analog audio. Especially if you factor in gain structure, EVERY SINGLE different valve or solid state preamplifier could potentially give your return a different colour, so there's endless possible experimentation if you want to get that tiny percentage increase that comes at the extreme end of audio gear. Analog effects really do have a lot more to think about than digital, but the results can be WELL worth it. If you have the time, bucks and energy to spare xD I see way too many people asking things like 'how to plug Pioneer effects unit to this mixer?' and it makes me sad :) oh, and I'm not even going to TOUCH *what* pedals you could/'should' use.. because again, you can spend endless amounts of time, energy and money on that question too xD
@@tylon2999 ah you are right! Thanks for clarifying. "Precision Sculpting EQ SCULPT is a semi-parametric swept bell filter, and consist of two controls,FREQ which sets the centre frequency and CUT/BOOST which adjust the gain or a attenuation at this frequency. The level of cut/boost is asymmetric; maximum boost is limited to +8dB, while the cut is extended to -20dB. Sculpt has a wide Q and a frequency range that covers almost seven octaves."
So what would the difference be if I got a digital DJ mixer taking audio input through usb? Because that would save money not having to get a dedicated sound card with multiple outputs. Would it sound bad?
Hi Ean, I noticed that TR8 is in sync with traktor...How did you do the sync? If is the same way you sync traktor with maschine...how can we Do this in the Club while other DJ is finishing his performance...I mean...the audience cannot hear the click meter from traktor... Thanks very much for sharing your knowledge :)
Thanks for the video, this is a really interesting experiment and visually exciting but what are the audible benefits over using traktors reverb and delay?
There are a couple. First, you have the option of a full-analog signal chain, which many techno DJs are very fond of. Second, you can use ANY EFFECT YOU LIKE. Traktor's reverbs and delays have a specific sound. Other reverbs and delays will have a different sound. Third, on the Xone 92 you have two return channels which allow you mix in the effects as if they were channels, something Traktor does not perform in the software.
Hey Ean, how did you connect the X1`s to give a signal on the mixer? I just got myself one and the midi works just fine but I cant figure out how to get a signal from them to my xone 43. I am using 2 CDJ 900nxs players as a soundcard and their output just works fine. Would a "real" soundcard help me fix my problem? I used to play without traktor before so I really am new to this topic. Can you help me? Thanks -Michael
Hi guys, forgive me but I have one question that hopefully can be answered... my mixer is Reloop RMX60, which has no fx send/return section, so is it possible for me to use Traktor effects when I DJ digitally? Does this mean the Traktor effects necessarily to be routed before the mixer section? It is quite weird though...right?
Hello Ean, i have a question for you. I have a Scarlet 6i6 soundcard connected to the xone 92 mixer. The problem is that the peak level leds of the channels doesnt turn on. I tried with a Technics Turntable and it worked, but when i plug from my soundcard it doesnt work. I think it sounds good, can the problem has to do with only with the peaks meters?
hello, i just bought a xone92 and i want to connect my RMX-1000 on the mixer. which is the correct way of doing it? i have tried connecting MIX2 to RMX input and from RMX output to RETURN 2. when i try to increase the volume of MIX2 on the mixer there is a strange sound. im not sure whether im using all the correct preferences, if you can please tell me the correct ones. in addition i have tried connect AUX1 to RMX input and from RMX output to RETURN 2. with this setup i cannot use the echo filters on the RMX since there is no input from the mixer to the rmx. please let me know which is the correct connection and settings to use fully the RMX1000. THANK YOU.
Hi, That´s a awesome video! Thank´s so much for that! I don´t have much experience in connecting things. I would like to connect Traktor with my Signature22 mixer (use instead of a sound card) to the zone 92 My question: Is it possible to use my soundcraft signature 22 (with audio interface) instead of an external sound card? The mixer only have AUX outputs and don´t have chich (RCA cable) stereo outputs. I´ve try it already but I failed. Or maybe I did a mistake in the settings in Traktor... I´m thankfull for any help...
How's the U-PHORIA UMC404HD for this type of setup? I'm looking at NI A6 but it only gives me 3 channels on the mixer I think. Or what are the other alternatives in this price range?
Dear DJTTI have a problem. Not so long ago, i was a Native Instruments Traktor DJ, but because of the controller i thought, that i would change course to become a Pioneer DJ. I bought the DDJ-RX controller, and use the Rekordbox DJ Ver. 4.0.0. updatet to the 4.0.6 ver. However, I love the controller, love the knobs and faders and the big jogwheel. But the Rekordbox DJ software layout is not logic og fun to Watch and Work in.My question: Is it possible, to use the Pioneer DDJ-RX with Traktor 2 pro software?I read some place at the internet, that the so called TFI FILE donsen't exist to the DDJ-RX controller only for the DDJ-SX.I really hope you can help me out.Sincerely and a true new member fan on the youtube channelKenneth from Denmark(Sorry of the spelling isn't that good)
HI, how to connect my xone 96 with the tr8s? still need and external sound card for the midi? I connected with the midi of the xone 96 and it doesn't work
the 96 comes with a soundcard and midi options. you need to first set the 96 as the soundcard for Traktor, and have it send midi signal OUT to the tr8s' midi IN. then you can either route the AUDIO OUT of the tr8s into one of the 6 stereo channels.
Thanks, great tutorial on things I've never really tried with my Xone 92. Seems like you really know this mixer! Don't you find with the 92 the volume rises much too rapidly toward the top of the fader - it doubles in the last 1/4 or 1/5. I was thinking of selling it and getting an S8. Whats the effects routing like for that. I was thinking of buying an analog rytm and maybe A4 to use for live stuff along with remix decks and regular tracks.
+Pete Horam The Xone:92 has a logarithmic line fader whilst the Xone:62 has a linear line fader. In essence this means that the Xone:62 fader has an equal distribution of volume along the travel of the fader whilst the Xone:92 fader will have more of the volume distributed at the top of the fader's travel. In terms of feel, the Xone:92 fader is much lighter to the touch whereas the Xone:62 fader has more resistance.
Thanks for the video Ean, do you (or anyone else reading this) have any idea whether it is possible to use analogue mixers (or even midi mixers such as DN-X1600) in external mode for traktor post fader effects? It does not seem like this is possible from what I have looked up :/
i dont know if anyone is going to see this question but im wondering about something since im looking into building my first "hardware" based setup... ive read before that it's advised to always play MONO when DJing at a club or whatever since the stereo signal wont give a consistent audio in the entire room... But i notice that on all mixers the channel inputs are always stereo.... so do DJs play stereo? or is it converted to MONO on the PA side of things? what's up with that?
I remember calling guitar center to see how much it would cost to rent the Pioneer Nexus 2000 set for 1 day just to play with it. They quoted me at $500 for one day. Kinda random I know

MrPisster after the mixer sending it, before the thing that it’s being sent to.

the pioneer in this kind of djing was speedy-j in the year 99 i guess with ,first with two hardware samplers (yamaha su700)& the laptop working as effect processor connected to the aux sends of a xone 464.. and later with traktor & live+machine+xone 92 ..and now with an octatrack.
+BRIAN BURGER elektron makes nice stuff
I always thought it would be so cool if someone took a baby/grand piano & somehow hooked it up as kind of like an 8 track/drum machine/ synthesizer but also still could stay a real piano as well
@@Ray_Koren no effing way. I'm doing it right fucking now and I have never been more serious about anything in my life, okay something maybe training my dog LOL
always super interesting videos Ean!
what kind of usb hub is the one you are using ?
I was just wondering what type of cable Ean is running from the soundcard to the mixer? Where would you get these or is Ean making them himself? Are they 1/4 to RCA? Any help will be appreciated. Wanting to create a similar setup using an analogue mixer.
So do all analog mixers imperatively need an external soundcard in order to function? Also when you say "this is why this mixer is so good" you're essentially refering to the extended routing possibilities, correct? Thank you for the great video!
The Xone Px5 has an internal sound card in addition to its analog circuitry.
It also has Hi-Z FX sends just like Ean’s Xone:96
Get xone 4d it does all this and more
Mixmaster mike: “ayo Adam!.. I just hooked my turntables up to a wah-wah pedal ...”
i play with this kind of setup since 5 yaers already !!! now with xone 92 / k2 - analog rytm - audio 10
Hey man
Really appreciate your video and your creativity
I was wondering can I use Xone 43 instead of Xone 92
So Xone 43 - TR8 - dual Traktor X1 - NI 6 Audio interface?
Baaaaanger staff. Great content man!
Great vid Ean
You King ...yeeeh !!! greetings from argentina !!!
wait a second, this is a great mixer no doubt but vestax was implementing exactly the same kind of FX possibilities years before, on their PCV-275 for instance, it's not such a "unique" feature for the xone to be able and do so (thanks for the tuto tho I'm currently mixing on this vestax and was wondering if I could find a similar FX section on the xone, now I know it has it!)
You are awesome sir! Thank you, this was very informative.
Ean what happened to the Scatter knob, BPM knob, and volume knob on the TR-8? Is that by choice?
Also why not use a Traktor A10 soundcard?
Ken Sheldon Probably has the tr8 slaved to the master bpm in Traktor.
Jacob Stadtfeldld he adjustes the tempo manually. if you want the tr8 to follow the master tempo, you need a midi clock send signal, which traktor s4 has.
Exactly, only in this case it looks like he has clock sending over USB from traktor.
Jacob Stadtfeld yes
Ken Sheldon Ken - Ean often removes knobs from gear that he doesn't use or want to accidentally trigger - similar to why he adds Chroma Cap to the knobs that he DOES want to use the most often
Need more explanation how to set up soundcard. Please help
Cheers
Good question
Thanks for the video. I'm still not clear on why you need the sound card at all. Why not just plug each device directly into the mixer?
You need a sound card if you are going to use digital software like Traktor.
The Model 1 doesn't have an isolator.
@@tylon2999 ah you are right! Thanks for clarifying.
"Precision Sculpting EQ
SCULPT is a semi-parametric swept bell filter, and consist of two controls,FREQ which sets the centre frequency and CUT/BOOST which adjust the gain or a attenuation at this frequency. The level of cut/boost is asymmetric; maximum boost is limited to +8dB, while the cut is extended to -20dB. Sculpt has a wide Q and a frequency range that covers almost seven octaves."
Whats better?
Boss Rv-5 or Boss Rv-6
Boss DD-3 or Boss DD-7
For techno music on Allen & Heath Xone 92?
Tc hall of fame.
whats keeping the drum machine in time btw? not midi? USB from laptop/traktor?
That particular delay pedal can be used in stereo.
Can you please explain How I can use the analog ixing setup with pedals with CDJs
So what would the difference be if I got a digital DJ mixer taking audio input through usb? Because that would save money not having to get a dedicated sound card with multiple outputs.
Would it sound bad?
Are the X1's also plugged into the computer via a second usb port? I'm assuming the soundcard is occupying the first usb port?
Ok now I understand how to connect an RMX-500 or RMX-1000 into the Xone 92
Thank you! Helped me a lot!
Hi Ean,
I noticed that TR8 is in sync with traktor...How did you do the sync?
If is the same way you sync traktor with maschine...how can we Do this in the Club while other DJ is finishing his performance...I mean...the audience cannot hear the click meter from traktor...
Thanks very much for sharing your knowledge :)
Raphael Piperno you can actually just plug it in via USB and sync the MIDI clock from Traktor's preferences
Thanks for the information!
@@randyrankin682 thanks that is helpful!
how would the cable routing be with a volume pedal for the delay and reverb pedals?
Hey Ean,
how did you connect the X1`s to give a signal on the mixer? I just got myself one and the midi works just fine but I cant figure out how to get a signal from them to my xone 43. I am using 2 CDJ 900nxs players as a soundcard and their output just works fine. Would a "real" soundcard help me fix my problem? I used to play without traktor before so I really am new to this topic. Can you help me?
Thanks
-Michael
so he wouldn't be able to have this set up with Komplete audio 6 cause it has 2 stereo outputs, right?
Yes. You could use an Audio 8 or 10, for example.
Is that hissing coming from your microphone or is it coming from your setup?
Any cheaper audio interface you guys recommend? Could I use the Roland mx1 as an audio interface / sound card
NI Audio 6
Thank you so much, 'cause there's so much I don't know :)
Are the Master out's XLR cables on the XONE 92 running to the firewire or speakers? How are they routed?
Looking at studio mixer to make it affordable and more routings for mics, synth ,4 channel for traktor, any suggestions?
You can route any soundcard from traktor? To mix?Why you dont need a A6 or something similar..Regards!
Hi. I'm just wondering would it be possible to use the 750mk2 with the tr08 like that?
Brilliant video 😃
Yes but not with send effects like xone mixers have
hello, i just bought a xone92 and i want to connect my RMX-1000 on the mixer. which is the correct way of doing it?
i have tried connecting MIX2 to RMX input and from RMX output to RETURN 2. when i try to increase the volume of MIX2 on the mixer there is a strange sound. im not sure whether im using all the correct preferences, if you can please tell me the correct ones.
in addition i have tried connect AUX1 to RMX input and from RMX output to RETURN 2. with this setup i cannot use the echo filters on the RMX since there is no input from the mixer to the rmx.
please let me know which is the correct connection and settings to use fully the RMX1000. THANK YOU.
This is cool! Does Xone let you switch between pre-/ post fader sends?
Yes
Hi,
That´s a awesome video! Thank´s so much for that!
I don´t have much experience in connecting things.
I would like to connect Traktor with my Signature22 mixer (use instead of a sound card) to the zone 92
My question: Is it possible to use my soundcraft signature 22 (with audio interface) instead of an external sound card? The mixer only have AUX outputs and don´t have chich (RCA cable) stereo outputs.
I´ve try it already but I failed. Or maybe I did a mistake in the settings in Traktor...
I´m thankfull for any help...
How's the U-PHORIA UMC404HD for this type of setup? I'm looking at NI A6 but it only gives me 3 channels on the mixer I think. Or what are the other alternatives in this price range?
How pre listening (cue) is always active affter change Outing Routing -out- Vs Internal Routing -out- ?
If I use the fourth deck in Output Mic. Do you lose sound quality? Since the Mic output has only one input and not two, just like the other outputs.
But the Rekordbox DJ software layout is not logic og fun to Watch and Work in.My question: Is it possible, to use the Pioneer DDJ-RX with Traktor 2 pro software?I read some place at the internet, that the so called TFI FILE donsen't exist to the DDJ-RX controller only for the DDJ-SX.I really hope you can help me out.Sincerely and a true new member fan on the youtube channelKenneth from Denmark(Sorry of the spelling isn't that good)
Hey Ean! I would like to see a video of Xone:4D by DJTT! I have one and he is amazing! But he is forgot by reviews... Tks!
Im looking into buying the xone96.
Hello to connect your setup to monitoring speakers how do you do ? you connect to the xone92 or the external soundcard ?
Thanks, great tutorial on things I've never really tried with my Xone 92. Seems like you really know this mixer! Don't you find with the 92 the volume rises much too rapidly toward the top of the fader - it doubles in the last 1/4 or 1/5. I was thinking of selling it and getting an S8. Whats the effects routing like for that. I was thinking of buying an analog rytm and maybe A4 to use for live stuff along with remix decks and regular tracks.
+Pete Horam
The Xone:92 has a logarithmic line fader whilst the Xone:62 has a linear line fader.
In essence this means that the Xone:62 fader has an equal distribution
of volume along the travel of the fader whilst the Xone:92 fader will
have more of the volume distributed at the top of the fader's travel.
In terms of feel, the Xone:92 fader is much lighter to the touch whereas the Xone:62 fader has more resistance.
What do you think about the American Audio MXR 10 or 14 mixer?
Thanks for the video Ean, do you (or anyone else reading this) have any idea whether it is possible to use analogue mixers (or even midi mixers such as DN-X1600) in external mode for traktor post fader effects? It does not seem like this is possible from what I have looked up :/
Some mixers allow for post fader effects from tractor sends
Xone 92/42/43 all should even 22/23
i dont know if anyone is going to see this question but im wondering about something since im looking into building my first "hardware" based setup... ive read before that it's advised to always play MONO when DJing at a club or whatever since the stereo signal wont give a consistent audio in the entire room...
But i notice that on all mixers the channel inputs are always stereo.... so do DJs play stereo? or is it converted to MONO on the PA side of things? what's up with that?
I saw it. Most clubs are mono, but not all...
Can i make a eventide space work with my 92 and denon decks without soundcard?
Good look Ean!
Hiya, are the cables between the pedals and mixer TS or TRS? Ta 😊
3 years ago I had no idea what the h*ll he was talking about. I'm happy about the progress.
I've been told i need a reamp box before the pedal so that it doesn't get damaged... please explain thanks
I remember calling guitar center to see how much it would cost to rent the Pioneer Nexus 2000 set for 1 day just to play with it. They quoted me at $500 for one day. Kinda random I know
Question? If i have a xone 92 connected to 2 cdjs and 2 vinyls and using krk monitors do i need a soundcard and if so how do i connect it?
Good presentation.
i have a denon dnx 1500 and a roland edirol UA 101 ... can i use guitar pedals on a setup like that ?
Hey Ean, Is it possible to get the LED Analyzer Mapping for the X1 ?
