one of the rare mixer reviews with great music selections
@shoges has lovely taste in tunes! We have a mix by Sam up on our channel, you can also check some his mixes out on his Soundcloud soundcloud.com/shoges
Sam aka Shoges has awesome taste! we have a mix by Sam on our channel, or follow him here: soundcloud.com/shoges
thought the same, thats all thanks to Sam's great electronic music taste.
What a lovely piece of kit... you can hear the sound quality from this compressed video... hat off A&H... you always rock
UA-cam offers uncompressed uploads. 🙂
@@laurinjoelschafhausenI wish this was true. You clearly don’t understand how online video / audio work and it’s fine.
@@laurinjoelschafhausenoh hey
The quality of sound is incredible! Last mixer I probably need
With fader curve selector, this is now the perfect mixer.
perfect mixer that sounds like ass
Without an interface is old school.
Watched this video over and over.
You rarely see a product surpassing 2 decades and still being at the top. Yes, the 92 will last you a lifetime if well looked after!
I have no idea who this dude is, but he has excellent taste in music.
Sam DJs under the name Shoges, check him out. 🙂
Superb review after 24 years with my DJM 500 & 1210s decided to upgrade...this seems the perfect replacement !
What an upgrade! Must be huge! Enjoy the 92 its a beast
I have a 62, solid mixer and with me for more than 10 years now! Ordered this one today cant wait!!
I owned a 32, 42, 62, and a Xone92R. The xone92R was with me for 12 years..... I finally upgraded to a 96. The xone line of mixers gives the best bang and sound for the buck.
The music is absolute
I'll always remember being on the same flight back to the UK from ibiza as sasha and then fawning over the xone flight case on the baggage carousel after we landed. Every sticker on it told a story. Great product.
So basically they kept the Limited edition as MK2.I'm happy Limited Edition owner and this makes me happy as this mixer is fantastic.
Yeah it's essentially the full production run of the Limited Edition, fairly certain the circuitry and functionality is identical
Arrived today. So that's me happy
How is it? Just ordered one, arriving tomorrow cant wait!
@bekhouwe8888 I'll be honest I expected more, it doesn't seem that loud to me, maybe I'm doing something wrong. I thought all the phono preamps were upgraded but it's no different to the controller it replaced.
@@1Djsj135 Have it for 4 days now and the phono preamps are really good comparing to my old 62. There is alot of headroom on the phono preamps so problably you do something wrong?
As an owner of a Xone mixer, I never knew that you could do the flanger effect 🔥🔥
nice, glad we could show you that hidden gem!
This is a great advertisement…I am not a DJ, but this deck makes me mmh…I want it…😂
Bought this mixer after had serious problems with 2x Denon 1850 Prime killed... This is another level.
As you said.... sounds so warm and analog. Dont want a other mixer anymore.
This thing rocks
Denon is dog 💩💩💩
How are you finding it. I'm torn between this and a px5
@@1Djsj135 Already made a choice?
Problem with Denon? I used Denon for years and had 0 problems. Better than Pioneer for sure
Publish the playlist NOW❤
Great. Thanks
Great video, good job!
Please do a review of your tape delay. Seems very cool!
The Strymon El Capistan is a classic, definitely one of the best tape delay emulations around. Loads of demos around on it if you do a search
@@StoreDJ_online Thanks!
HI and thanks for your effort and review.
However I have a quick question please, where are thease units now made??
Great update, but personally always preferred Xone:96!
That's fair, the 96 is still the higher-end model with more features and that awesome crunch distortion 👌
make another xone 02 with sliding EQs please, but make it a 4 channel, with a filter also please. i still use the xone 02 now. best battle mixer ever, but would be cool in a 4 channel and have a built in filter option
I'm so used to Pioneer mixers, the warm sound that I'm hearing in this video, is that how A&H mixers really sound?
Yeah Pioneer mixers do tend to sound a bit harsh in comparison IMO
It's song choice more than anything else mate
Yes in general the more punchy analog sound is how A&H mixers really sound. Depending of the source ofcourse but my vinyl definately sounds night and day compared to my old djm800. Even my old 62 sounded alot better
Mind sharing what camera y'all use? Incredible color and detail.
panasonic s5 and Fuji xs10 :)
@ thank you 🙏🙂
I wonder did they update the faders so they don't bounce back a little when you throw them up full quickly
Not 100% sure, we'd need to pull out an old one to compare - but certainly didnt notice any faders bouncing
Hey mate, Sam from the video here. The faders on the MK2 have slightly more resistance than the OG 92, it's still not at the 96 level of smoothness, but they are a lot nicer and easy to control now for sure!
Considering this, I'm a vinyl junkie so looking to get the best sound possible
Perfect mixer for vinyl lovers if you want faders, we also love the Ecler Warm 4 for vinyl if you're more a rotary mixer person
How would this rate up against the PX5. DB4 being discontinued take so that option away.
I still don't know why they only allow killing the LO-band and HI-band, but not the others. As a DJ, I find this feature really inconvenient. They could just add a switch, which allows complete cancellation of the other bands.
Yeah, that is weird!
I dont understans
Then this update was released? Becouse i have no pop ups from filters but i got this mixer used 3 ears ago
what audio interface is he using here? or what is best?
How to understand? I have xone 92 black but i dont have any pop up click sounds then i press filters. How can it be? Chatgpt says maybe it has changed parts or very good care of mixer
No interface for using a laptop?
I've not had an issue with filters popping - glad they changed the fader curves. Have they changed the faders - they are way too slick feeling for me - I want some resistance. Rotary version?
Hey mate Sam from the video here! The faders have a little bit more resistance than the OG 92 and are nicer to mix on for sure, they would fall inline with most DJ mixers now I would say. 96 and rotaries are still the king of smooth channel fades though! I would also love to see another A&H rotary.
Just my luck, I just bought the old 92! But I'm not too bothered, nothing too cruical with this update for me anyway...
I got my 92 new for $999US several years ago.
I can deal with the filter click lol
do you know the eq crossover points for the mk2?
This is nice.. too bad I can’t afford it.
What a gorgeous mixer, but I just don't why they'd release this alongside the Xone:96. What sets them apart, really?
xone:96 has the USB audio and soundcard functionality, few other things too. But basically, if you dont need the USB audio element, you can save yourself some $$$ by going with the 92. Good to have the option ✌️
@@StoreDJ_online - Thanks for this, really helpful. So it's purely analogue, and you'd need an external sound card for this if you're wanting to use Traktor with it. So really you would be better off going with the 96 in that regard for the use with Traktor.
Track id's?
Hey Steve, Sam here from the video, stoked you loved the tracks I was playing! here's the tracklist in order:
Vei (Original Mix) - Travertia
Only Now feat. Isis Salam (Akufen Remix) - Adam Shelton, Isis Salam
Personal Choice (Jarquin & Cano Remix) - Rishi K.
Moons and Flowers (Original Mix) - Session Victim
Blue (Akufen's A Different Shade Of Blue remix) - PLEJ
Sultry 808 (Extended Mix) - Mallin
I've got a plenty of mixes up on my Soundcloud which is linked in my bio and more coming soon on my YT channel. I'll check yours out too mate cheers!

Can't see it on site yet...but I'm guessing price wise it has to be more than the discounted 92 mk1 but less than the limited edition 92. Hmmm. $2699? Can I get a t-shirt or hat if I'm close?
apologies had a website glitch, it's up now - you were close, comes in at AUD$2649 🙂 www.storedj.com.au/products/allen-heath-xone-92-mk2-analogue-dj-mixer
@@StoreDJ_online I'll accept a sticker then.
@@StoreDJ_online Is iti only released in Austrailian markets? I dont see it anywhere in the USA
looks like one of the filters lfo can synch to midi? why do so many people seem to not use the coolest feature of this mixer the lfo on each filter...
it doesn't sync to an external midi clock, it only has a MIDI output - no MIDI input. So you can only tempo sync if the mixer is a the master. You'd use that feature to sync an external fx processor (like a delay) to your tap tempo, or even a drum machine/sampler - anything like that.
so this or the xone 96.....?
what 92mk2 vs 96 about sound?
They didn't add level balanced headphone cue/master mix instead of "add mix"? Not having to deafen yourself to hear both tracks at the same volume is enough reason for me to go for a 96. This is beautiful though, shame!
I always thought Xone 96 was the updated version of Xone 92
96 is more like the evolution of the 92 with more features - USB / soundcard etc. if you don't need the extra features of the 96 then you can save some $$ and go with the 92, good to have options 👌
What’s the fundamental difference between this and the 96?
connectivity
The 96 has USB connectivity / inbuilt soundcard, where as the 92 is strictly analog i/o only. The 96 also has the 'Crunch' distortion controls, a master FX insert, more Cue options and dual headphone outputs.
@@StoreDJ_online sounds like I should get the 96 then 😆
@@StoreDJ_online est ce que les preampli riaa de la 92 mk2 sont mieux que la 96 ?
Where I live the xone 92 mk2 and xone 96 are being sold for around the same price. Anyone got any advice on what would be the better option?
Both mixers for different things, depends what you need, if you playing live or traktor can be easy connected to the 96, 96 maybe in my opinion has a bit better effects (if connect guitar pedal), but I don’t like cuening on it. In 96 you don’t have a lfo but have a crunch. 92 classic, perfect for mixing techno with lfo
Get the 96
Yo cool vidéo !!! Is it possible to have to have the Music sélection please ? Have a good day !
Sam replied to another comment with the Track IDs 🙂
Does it have a soundcard?
no, you need to go up to the xone:96 for that
is there any difference between the mk2 and the X92 limited edition ?
We believe it's just the faceplate, it seems functionally identical to the Limited Edition
where to order for U.S?
With all the new high end mixers now on the market, this was a weak revision.
I like it. Now do DB4 with new big screens and FX (plus add digital limiter). :D
A new mixer in 2024 with faders that will eventually wear out..ah well
Underwhelming.. not going to lie but this is such a disappointment. Zone 92 and 96 were already great mixers.. A little dated, but better sounding than many of the modern digital mixers out there.. nothing beats analog.
So the pop when engaging the filter has been corrected. That's not an upgrade or update.. that's just a fix. And that was a fix many DIYers were able to do themselves by adding I believe a capacitor or a resistor of a different value. A fix is not an upgrade. Did they do anything about the headphone preamp? That would be in my opinion another fix.. because The original headphone preamps were crap. Just not loud enough. They've added a fader curve.. okay that's an upgrade, but arguably should have never been omitted in the first iterations.. This is something that other DJ mixers have had in some form or the other since the '90s... Maybe even longer (But I only started DJing in the '90s so I can only speak from then till now..)..
They have adjusted the resonance of the filters, making them sound "better"..great! I never thought there was a problem with the first iteration, but glad that they found a way to improve it nonetheless. What else? These are incremental steps that shouldnt have taken 20 fucking years. This "mark 2" should have come out 5 years after the first one..
The send/return is the same bullshit routing that is as basic as any mixer should be if they want to be called a mixer.. It's basic. In my opinion, descendant return channels are equivalent to an EQ on a mixer. It's just one of those things you need to include if you want your device to be called a mixer. Is there an option to route effects through an insert point? At the very least, do the microphones have insert points? If this is not included, then it would be safe to say that this device was not designed by anyone that has ever been to a wedding or a club or bar with a DJ using a microphone ... Because every single DJ seems to think that mic feedback is just a necessary evil that they can do nothing about and their audience must learn to deal with. FFS, all you need is an insert point on the mic channel so that you can send the signal to an external 31 band GEQ to be able to eliminate most if not all feedback.. Even having an insert point on the master channel could be helpful for room correction.
But once again that's a thing that you have to either be a DJ or witness a DJ in order to understand how an insert point would benefit them.. DJs themselves don't understand the difference between sends/ returns vs instert points. . their assumption is that it always has to do with incorporating external effects in the signal chain. It's not always the case and has comparatively clinical applications such as targeting problem frequencies etc.
It can be much more versatile than just being a creative tool.. things like system tuning and room correction can all be achieved with an external 31 band analog EQ. I've picked up a few of these over the years.. never costed me more than a few bucks. And mic feedback is all but eo8ninated
Don't get me wrong, I'd still prefer this over a DJM A9 or V10. . Those sound great and all.. But it's still not "analog"...A&H had the analog workflow nailed down. The sound of the older xone 92's were great., And I get really excited when I receive a rider from a touring DJ that is requesting a Xone 92/96 instead of the A9 or V10 ( wish every other DJ and their mother seems to request nowadays)
We'd argue that 2 STEREO send and returns is definitely not a basic feature of any old mixer, traditionally analog mixers have mono sends. Something we missed in the video is that there's now Clean Feed switches on the mic/return inputs that take signal out of the booth output, so your issue with mic feedback is addressed to an extent. No there's no inserts, but you could set it up like one if you were happy to use both aux channels since you've got a pre-fader aux send option - use one channel as the preamp, send it out via aux-send to an outboard processor and back in the second aux channel.
Track ID's please? LOL
Sam chimed in with Track IDs on another comment ;)
But does it sound anywhere near as good as the original silver UK made Xone:92?..
gotta sell old stock somehow!
?? They're fresh off the boat, not old stock
@@StoreDJ_onlineI think it's a comment more about the lack of innovation on the newer product.
Old limited had an issue connecting the rmx 1000 on send and return. I know xone 96 fixed this issue. Did the the new 92 fixed the issue as well?
Xone 96 got a master insert the OG Xone 92 never had one and didn't added it
on the mk2
@@SuperKillapop not sure why they didn’t add this to MK2
@@rachithofficial401the RMX 1000 sound quality is pretty awful in my opinion. It's really not needed for a pure analog mixer like the Xone 92. Also it's great they kept it as it is.
@@SuperKillapopI agree. It’s hard to use with newer mixers cause the converters on it are noticably terrible.
Hated the original crossfader
Yeah great to see they chucked an Innofader in there!
