This is an overview of my first surgery! I began my female to male transition in 2014, and had my hysterectomy on September 18th, 2018. Adventures have been put on hold for a while as I recover, hope you understand! Thanks for watching 😀🏕️

Benton, you helped me through a very hard time of my life. When I first came out as trans, I was still finding myself and watching your videos helped me so much. I used to sit my mum down and make her watch some videos of yours just so she could understand just a little. You helped me with my first name, first I was known as Tyler now I’m known as TJ. I’m almost 17 and excited for the future, I’m scared but also happy that one day I’ll feel free and not self conscious. From 13/14 year old me. Thank you a lot. I’ll come back to this video one day and watch it again so it’ll help me through it. I’ve missed you Benton. I appreciate you and everything you’ve done 🤟🏼💯❤️💨🔥

Hey Benton! Glad to hear you’re recovering well!
I’ve had 3 surgeries in my life, one on my knee, one on my jaw and on on my intestines. I’m starting T in 1 month! And so top surgery is on the horizon too, I’m very excited of course 😄 It’s so awesome to see you doing so well and getting out into the outdoors

Benton, I came across your videos four years ago when I first started my own transition. Now I'm watching your new stuff while recovering from the first stage of my phalloplasty.
I'm so glad that we've both been able to come this far. (I'm also Canadian, so I empathize with you about the frustratingly long applications/waiting time for these surgeries.)
I hope that everything continues to progress for you, and I'd love to see you make a video about changing habits. I think it's something that everyone in our boat would appreciate.

Ive watched and kept up to date with you since 2014 or 2015. I love how happy you are and I also I love that you still hike. I love your photos you take. I was 2 surgrys in the next 3-4 years and there is a 3rd one but its a foot surgery and my dad wants to get that fixed soon so I can get back to working out. Your a great hiker, hockey player and I love to dance. So I need to fix some thing and I hope I can dance after but I dont know.

I honestly look up to you so much dude, not only in transition but the adventures you have shown in your recent videos with Lindsay. I'm currently almost 2 months on T, and hoping to have top surgery as soon as possible, but realistically will be in a few years with the UK system, so I'll continue working hard to save up for my surgery and probably go privately. Interesting you say about wanting to quit smoking due to your hiking etc. I started years back when I was 14 and it's my biggest regret, especially since I'm an avid hiker as well. Anxiety and stress makes it difficult to stop, but it's something I'm working towards. Thanks for sharing your story and helping others like me, Benton bro. I've been watching since your old trans videos but I'm really enjoying yours and Lindsay new content. Keep it up man

Thanks for sharing! I’d love to have a hysto at some point in the future, but seeing as how there’s a 99.9% chance I’d be paying for it out of pocket idk if it’s ever going to happen. However, I am looking forward to getting top surgery next year! My extended family has been kind enough to offer their help raising money for me, and I could not be more grateful or excited. I almost can’t comprehend not having to bind all the time, but I might actually be there by summer of 2019. There are a million and one things I’m looking forward to after top surgery-I get giddy just thinking about it, lol. My world is going to crack open.
You’ve helped me so much, Benton-your videos were a big source of inspiration for me right before and after I came out. It’s awesome to see you doing so well. : ) Cheers.

I've been putting off my hysterectomy for a long time because there's never a convenient time to take 6 weeks out of your life to recover! I work a very physical job and am super busy since I'm in college as well so I don't know when I'll get it done. But it was nice to watch this video to remind me to get it done when I can.

    • @WestCoastElements
      @WestCoastElements  6 років тому +1

I kept putting it off because it didn't feel like the right time, and I wasn't able to take time off work/school. Whenever you decide, I'm sure everything will work out. Life has a way of doing that :)

  • @hehahi

I had my hysterectomy September 7th, it all went well first but then I had an internal infection and had to have another surgery and stay in the hospital for 5 days. They told me this only happens at about 5% of the cases. It wasn't an easy recovery, but glad I'm feeling better already, can't wait to start running.

Glad to hear that recovery is going well! I had surgery on my ear about 2 years ago now. I had ruptured it by simply diving into the deep end of my local pool and it never healed quite right. They had to do a skin graph from behind my ear and basically make a fake eardrum to replace my ruptured one. Recovery for that was rough, and I still have some issues with it even two years later.
Anyways, great to hear from you and I'm excited to see what come next!

I had top surgery and the hysterectomy in July. I'm from Germany and my insurance covers the costs, so I go for having both operations in one, so I don't have the recovering time two times. Wasn't as easy as I thought because of the complications from a infection, but I'm still happy to do it in one

Steve Rogers? Is it u? 😨😨 You are look like him (well, maybe I have problems with my English, sorry, I speak Russian). I can't even watch this video with sound now, but I think if I will, I even will can't hear what you talking about because u r so so beautiful. I need u in Captain America costume 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 Where is your Bucky? 😢😢😢 I'm crying.
I didn't write so much words in English since I studied (umm study, I mean, u know) in School.
Why u r so beautiful and look like Captain America??? 😱😍😍😍😍
    I think u need a shield
(sorry, I can't hear what u talking in this video (I said it), but I will. I'm so excited to hear your voice)
I think my heart is broke. I want to look like u 😢😍❤
And sorry for my English again. 👺
........i'm going to cry in bed........
Who need Chris Evans, if we have u.
Thank u for giving me positive thoughts, because I can't believe that he will not Cap anymore.
I will watch your videos and imagine that u r Steve (well, it is (this is?) joke, but I can't believe how u can look like him) 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢❤❤❤❤❤❤
    Good luck, by the way.
(and u little bit look like my boyfriend, but he has red hair, hehehe)
And I have one question. How can I support my boyfriend, when he will have firs surgery and even when he will have testosterone (I don't know how to say it in English right) for the first time? And before? Everyday I don't know how to make him feel better, u know. I need to be a person who can make his way easier, but sometimes I don't know what to say. 😢

Glad it went well for you, I've learned a lot about what it means transgender throughout these years, I'm not transgender myself, but I've learned a lot about it, I know 2 people who are transgender, my mother kind of explained it to me. At first I found it interesting how one can transition to the opposite gender, and from watching videos about it, I've found out a lot! I continue to watch them for entertainment.

So I’m thinking about getting a hysterectomy at some point because I’m terrified shark week will return and I can’t deal with that. I’m on t and hormone blockers and I’ve heard some people say that when they go off hormone blockers shark week can get really bad. Idk if being on t will make it so that doesn’t happen. However I’m a little concerned about having to completely rule out having biological children and being completely reliant on t for the rest of my life. Was that a concern for u?

Hello! I stumbled upon this video. I just had a question for ya. My mom is getting a hysterectomy due to being an older lady and having issues. So I was wondering if you had any advice on how to make the person who needs help get help? I'm going to take care of her, what are some good ideas to keep in mind to make her more comfortable? Thanks much! Congrats on your journey 🙂

    • @WestCoastElements

The people who took care of me were excellent because they previously understood my needs. They knew my diet and other things that made me feel healthy and strong (ex. bringing me tea rather than soda, encouraging reading rather than video games). It's a balance of health and comfort for sure. Meal prep, loose-fitting clothing, and a helping hand to stand up/lay down were the main things for me at least :) Hope it goes well!

Im wanting to start ftm in a month or so, I already found a therapist as well. Im scared but excited. Im not wanting anything to help me, I just want to be a male, that's all I care about. Im upset that Ill have to shave my face all the time though. I don't know, maybe ill get used to it. I have a super high self esteem so im not worried about that. Im also going to be gay. I love my attitude I hope it doesn't change ever. Im kind of scared about surgery, I don't really understand how or what it'll look like. Id appreciate any answers.

    hi, benton
i'm at the age of 11 currently, for some information about me i'm a self-taught artist and animator. i'm physically female, however, i'm what is known as demiboy.
demi meaning half, and boy being.. well, boy.
i'm having a little bit of a rough moment right now, like one of those moments where it lasts longer than a moment and is actually one of the biggest parts of your life, but it feels like everythings stopped and just, sort of frozen.
so i'd like to ask you for some help.
i don't know how to come out as my gender, and ask my mom for a binder. i'm very sure that she is accepting, because i have a trans(mtf) sister, however that doesnt exactly stop the anxiety about the whole situation. do you have any tips on what i should say and do?
