This comment isn't related to this video, but... I just finished watching FPO coverage of Las Vegas on youtube and wanted to say Congratulations on an awesome win! I've seen all of the work you've put in through the videos here on your channel and you deserve having your hard work pay off. Am looking forward to seeing many more successes for you in the future. I guess it's kinda related to this video because if anyone wants you see your putting tips put into practice, they should check out the coverage of that event. Your putting was incredible through the whole tournament!

Yo! Congrats on the win at LVC, Lucky! Clutched up and played your best round on the final day. Your putting was phenomenal all weekend. Best of luck for the rest of the season.

Sweet! Excellent timing. Been practicing my putting this year, making it a goal to specifically improve putting. Appreciate this video.

This video has helped me the most, especially Tip #1. Starting with legs and then throwing gave me much more power. I thought I was using them before, but the way you explained it was perfect!!

I like the start slow then faster towards the last part. Thanks so much. Great video.

Great tips Lykke. I find my putting to be off & on. Sometimes I practice putt before a round & it's off & if I don't practice putt before a round it's on. So I just try to remember & keep in my mind a good tip from another pro & that is to "grip", "spin" leg kick, & point at the spot you want to have the disc go into the basket.

Thanks, you helped me figure out why I am not throwing puts so well. I will try some of those exercises.

Great video - I really appreciate that you showed how you suggested both styles of putt might look like! Not often videos show both. I thought the slow timing in getting close to the release part is absolutely on point, as timing is everything! I haven't used a lot of wrist flick with shorter putts, but can see the potential for that to add significantly to C2 putts, so will look to incorporate this more! Thanks for the great video 😊

Thank you!! I totally agree with adding more wrist for your C2 putts, I would assume that’s what most people to (including myself) 🔥

@ThrowLikeLucky you're welcome! Been playing a year here, and a big focus on last month has been on putting is paying dividends! Drive for show, putt for dough (as coined by Arthur "Bobby" Locke) is true both for golf as it is for disc golf! Maybe one day (in the MA40 grade) I might get there 😂

that small wrist tilt was keeping me confused, because I never even noticed that it was a variable, along with loading the wrist in the back swing maybe not being the way to go🥰; so damn, THANKS!!

They don't make half as many putting videos as I should like; and I like less than half of putting videos half as well as they deserve.
This gem stands out from the crowd, thank you!

Hey Throw Like Lucky, I just watched your video and I must say that it was really informative and well-made.
I was wondering if I could help you edit your videos and repurpose your long videos into highly engaging shorts? I can also make high CTR thumbnails for your channel

People often forget that it's not your drives that win you games, it's your putts.

if one cannot get to C1 by par, putting doesn't matter as much. Being better at putting comes after having good drives.

    > The more you use wrist, the better it gets.
I have heard the opposite, and try to minimize wrist usage for C1.
Wrist is the hardest and fastest movement to control accurately, so getting speed from your arm and body help create an accurate putt in my experience.
    Maybe it's a matter of people's styles.

Yes, the longer putt you have the more wrist you need. Definitely not necessary to use a lot of your wrist on a 12ft putt.
Like I said, it’s not for everyone cuz it does make it easier to miss and it’s hard to control. But if you’re struggling with getting any spin at all, adding your wrist is definitely helping.

There is so much biomechanics and physics inaccuracy in this video that it boggles the mind. Using your legs doesn't give you spin in the slightest. Using your legs to set up your upper body to rotate a certain way might, but f.e. Kristin Tattar who does a straight down-and-up motion with her legs gets literally zero discspin from her legs.
Going slow ALSO doesn't impart any spin on the disc. Slowing down so you do the motion more fluently might, because it could allow your wrist to relax a bit more and flip around like it does when you extend your arm with a relaxed wrist, but try putting with a wrist-and-finger cast on your putting arm and you can go as slow as you want, and the disc won't spin one iota more than it would if you go fast.

She is saying to go slowing the first part of your put then speed up. Much like a slow controlled back swing in ball golf.

    • @ThrowLikeLucky
      @ThrowLikeLucky  4 місяці тому +9

      This comment seems highly unnecessary!
It’s about getting all the power you have into the disc and timing it right. This is tips that helps me to be a better putter, and using my legs and hips does add spin to my putts. Going slow makes my timing better and that definitely helps my spin when I add speed to it at the end. I NEVER said you should be slow at the end of your putt, only at the beginning!

A very successful disc golf professional posts a video giving solid tips on putting form and somehow you feel like you have to jump in and correct her?
