Interesting , the stock market is currently experiencing a decline while bond yields are on the rise. However, there seems to be skepticism amongst investors regarding the Federal Reserve's plan to continue increasing interest rates until inflation is stabilized. As for myself, I find myself at a crossroads, uncertain whether to liquidate my $250,000 stock portfolio. I'm seeking advice on the best strategy to capitalize on this current bear market.

I believe that it is the % that counts. Because if we buy 4 shares of co. X we would be having twice the dividend of Reliance.
thanks nishant! for sharing the information.
In absolute terms a person is going to earn rs 200 on a investment of rs 2000. So 10% yield is always better and we should not rely on just the absolute dividend amount.
Same thought
Correct

The quantum of a 2-3 % return should be meaningful... You probably would need to invest 1 crore to earn anything substantial in dividend absolute amount!
Ankur Sir!
At 7:54 the example, If I am getting INR 50 for a INR 500 stock then that should be better than getting INR 100 from a INR 2000 stock.
Invested capital of Company X is 1/4th the CMP of RIL. But the the net dividend amount is 1/2 only.
true, as in we can buy 4 stocks of 500 in same investment.
You are right. That is an error :))

The best time to invest? Funny, because in the past four months I've lost over £ 20,000 on the stock market which is the biggest I've lost since venturing into stock investing.
I made a few mistakes a year ago, I was sure I had learned the ropes, invested on my own and lost thousands of euros . It was the saddest year for my growing business, after a lot of persuasion from a colleague I decided to try the action again. this time I invested with the help of Gerald Parker, a US based stockbroker. I made € 125,000 in profit a few months after investing. I recovered my loss and stabilized my business.

This is what I was searching for a long time. Thank you sir... Just love it how you have explained everything.
It actually works this way. First of all, your bank account, trading account and demat account are all linked together. So, when a company announces dividend, they will fix a date. When you have shares on your demat account on that particular date, the money will be credited to your bank account directly as all 3 accounts are linked together.

Hi Ankur, just a small rectification. Dividend is given on face value of a share and not the market value.

You explain everything in very simple way thanks sir 👌
Hey Ankur - We always expect the best from you being retail investor centric. Small cases have a lot of drawbacks which nobody talks about -
1. The returns shown on small cases are only for illustration purposes as these funds were never started 5 years ago. This is a new service & has shown past performance to highlight it's selling.
2. Small case charge on every rebalancing of stocks in a portfolio that is quarterly or half yearly.
3. Multiple selling orders quickly leads to high STCG tax.
4. We can surely go with Index funds or Direct MF with as low as Rs 500 rather than Rs 5000 or more. (They have very less expense ratio)
5. Actual CAGR of these Small Cases is very poor which are written in the factsheet of these small cases in very small words.
The actual performance of these small cases is similar/less than Index. If you feel I'm wrong feel free to correct me.
the fact that you commented numerous times explains a lot.

@warikoo FRAUD alert for the comment above
Sir, according to me the dividend yield of the companies should be compared because as your example says a rs2000 stock gives 100 but 4 socks of rs500 stick will give you 200 which is better
But i must appreciate the way you explained the rest of the concepts,
you are a great motivator to me, thanks for being an online mentor sir

Divided yield bhi jyada hey na rs500 wali company main ...

Very useful video Ankur sir! I'm getting dividends from a few stocks since I started investing a year back but since my total investment was only 50k, the dividend from each companies is almost 5-10 Rs so I think it's an income source only if you have a large amount of shares of a particular company. I have a few queries,
1. What does the "Total returns" corresponding to the "Current investment" in a small case mean? Does this value represent the amount of returns on that day if we choose to sell? Will it increase over time with a fixed capital?
2. Please elaborate on how to plan investments to get monthly dividends

@@gauravarora790 The CAGR isn't poor in many cases, its that its not that relatively high if you compare the time period. For example if there is a momentum small case showing 110% CAGR, that's gonna be calculated for just 1 year and we know the market has been on a boom since april 2020, but if you actually calculate the CAGR over 5 year period its gonna be not more than 25-27%, ONE NEEDS TO KEEP IN MIND THE TIME PERIOD FOR WHICH THE CAGR HAS BEEN CALCULATED.

Just a small addition here, that for a resident individual , Dividend upto ₹5000 in a Fiscal year is considered non taxable, in short no TDS,if dividend earned is less than ₹5000.
Dividend of 5000 cap is per stock or overall net dividend from the portfolio of stocks
