11:18 slight correction here. DP Charges are levied at Rs. 13.5 (+ 18% GST) per day per scrip (stock) for the stocks sold from your holdings. If you sell 50 shares of X in the morning and 50 shares of X in the afternoon, the total applicable DP charges for that scrip(stock) for the day will be Rs. 13.5 + 18% GST. If you sell 50 shares of X in the morning and 50 shares of Y in the afternoon, the total applicable DP charges for the day will be Rs 13.5 + Rs 13.5 = Rs 27 + 18 % GST since multiple scrips are being sold. Hi Ankur, First of all, thank you for creating such amazing content. Your videos are entertaining, at the same time they teach us a lot about managing our finances carefully. I have recently started my investment journey, and came to know about Smallcase through your videos. I have a small question about the All Weather Investing smallcase - how is it's liquidity situation? I mean, if someone wanted to sell his/her holdings in this smallcase, what are his/her chances of finding a buyer readily? I have the same question for all smallcases containing ETFs.
The only thing that annoys me about Smallcase is if I've made an SIP of 5,000 monthly, the day I'll have to invest on Zerodha, it might turn into 6,000 someday even 7,500. Depends on how stock market opened up. Never is 5,000.
@@Ash-jh3gh I know. It just becomes very inconvenient in monthly budget planning of your savings when suddenly the installment increases by 3k-5k. Hi Ankur, Thank you for the Details on Smallcase. Just a question, so if I have to invest in 3 smallcase themes, then do they charge (118 * 3 ) or is it only 118 irrespective of the no of smallcase we subscribe into.
Ankur ji I admire you, learned a lot from your videos I know you may mean scrip and not stock but it was confusing for me so posting this comment Delivery charges are per scrip(you can say company) in zerodha. So wanted to give a bit of clarity because the terminology and example in the video point to dp charges per stock but it is per scrip.... so if you sell 10 stocks of a company you will be charged a fixed fees of 15.. and same happens even if you sell 100 stocks of the company...Below are the charges for 1000 shares sold Buy 1000 Sell 1100 No of shares 1000 Total gross profit 100000 Total charges 2353.52 Net P&L 97646.48 Charges breakdown Brokerage 0.00 STT 2100.00 Exchange txn charge 72.45 Clearing charge 0.00 Stamp duty 150.00 SEBI charges 2.10 DP 15.93 GST 13.04 As you can see the dp charges are 15.93 per scrip...and not per stock if it was per stock the charges would be 15000/-
If the user creates if own SmallCase then apart from the Transaction Charges & Brokerage Charges, are there any other charges? Since the user is the creator I believe there will no subscription Charges. Please comment Ankur Warikoo. By the way one more great video. I am literally confused of the charges for a smallcase and have been hesitant to invest. Thank you for the clarification.
I think you may want to update this video or may be create a new one with clear examples(that you generally do to help the community as always:) ) with below changes in smallcase charges effective 21st Nov 2022. For every smallcase, a transaction fee of ₹100 (capped at 1.5% of the investment amount) will be applied when you invest a lump sum amount to your new or existing smallcase investment, effective 21st November 2022. For SIPs, a charge of ₹10 (again capped at 1.5% of the amount transacted), effective 21st November 2022. Any auto-SIP set up before this date will not incur this fee.

Can you really read my mind or what . This is exactly what I have been thinking about - thank you. So if one starts a SIP of small case then also , all charges except subscription would apply -is that correct?
I don't think smallcase product is suitable for beginners. It always shows that portfolio which is currently in profit and also shows unrealistic return value. The portfolio which becomes old or started showing losses they no longer shows them. The problem is for those users who continue to invest in them. They unnecessarily pay huge charges and suffers losses. There is also no guarantee that 5-10 years down the line, the particular portfolio will still work or not. So my advice is to go for mutual fund or index funds. Smallcase still has to prove its worth. Don't waste your hard earned money. Invest wisely!!!
You should have mentioned charge of Rs13.5 is " per scrip " ( or per company ) and not based on per stock (number wise ) E.g if I sell 5 stocks of wipro = Rs.13.5 will be charged but if I sell even 1 stock of 5 different companies = will be charged 13.5*5 = Rs67.5 for 5 stocks (1 stock per company )
Yes exactly , I have the same question , dp charge suppose to be per company right? If it's per stock in small case or Zerodha then it's a lot of charge

Kindly if you could reply to this query of mine asap then I can start my investing journey... Thanking you once again. ❤️❤️
Hi ankur sir, the way you explain is great and very easy to understand. Planning to do my first investment in smallcase but have 1 doubt what is good time to exit/close the particular smallcase
Hey Ankur, usually mutual funds have around 1% expense ratio. If I want to subscribe to a paid smallcase with fees 6k per year, I'll have to put in 50k per month so that the total subscription cost becomes 1% of invested amount. If I want to invest less than 50k per month, should I still go for smallcase?
While you are right, Mutual funds are highly diversified and risk averse as such generate lower return comparative to small case investing. In first year your expense ration might be say 3% on let say 20K per month investing. But 3 years down the line, it will come down to below 1%. This is due to the fact that small case subscription fee is not proportional but fixed unlike MFS Hence for long term investing, I am definitely gonna advice smallcase. Once a portfolio crosses 10L, expense ration will be about 0.6% and will decrease with time further
@@Manu-ik8nn Thank you so much for replying back. I think you put it perfectly when you said that in mutual funds the expense ratio is variable but it is fixed in smallcase. I still feel that the expense ratio won't keep going down in smallcase with time because the subscription is yearly. So in 3 years, my invested amount becomes 3x but so does my subscription cost. So in that case my expense ratio would still remain 3%. Let me know if I'm thinking on the wrong lines here. Thanks!!

What I don't understand is, you sound like a professional & I believe you are well versed with stock investing. So, why you don't do your own research instead of investing through small case?
My only doubt is that , does the total money put in shown on any smallcase we have purchased include all the charges we have paid or the money put in after paying those charges.
This idea of small case is very interesting. Is it monthly investment ? or I can invest lumpsum for next five years? Can we have small case customer care no?
Dear All, smallcase is not all useful if you are investing minimum amount or low amount appx 20,000 INR. Check CAGR with your desire amount for 1 year and 3 year- mostly you will find it very very low returns with very low CAGR, could be negative too. If Rebalance is weekly or quarterly you will pay good amount for it also. Total amount is considered. Don’t follow anyone blindly
PERSONAL OPNION: The biggest drawback of smallcase has to be short term capital gain tax on each rebalance. Especially for retail investersors, who don't have audits or who file tax themselves, will have to also declare the short term trades while filing for tax, and also pay 15% on top. If smallcase can somehow avoid this, then its actually an good investment option. EX : if you have a smallcase of 20 stocks, every quarter rebalance can lead about 20 short term trades( assuming 5 stocks sold in every rebalance.) Then you have to declare them all 20 in your IT. if you invest in more smallcases, managing this becomes even more difficult.
This is great video. Small cases are good products for starters. But they don't perform under all market conditions. In fact most of free small cases are poorly managed and don't yield returns any better than index funds. while, I don't know about subscribed small cases, index funds may have better real ROIs than small cases, considering all these expenses

So, in the video it is shown that 13.5 * 50.
Can anyone help me, if I am correct or wrong?
I agree

After watching whole video, I got the complete idea about the cost of smallcase. I would like to say that for a small or medium investor it's costly.
Thanks Ankur Sir...mera to pura doubts clear ho gya...thanks a lot
Hello @warikoo, If you so close to smallcase please ask them to implement this feature. If I create my own smallcase and in future I want to edit it i e remove a stock without selling my existing holding is not possible.
Whats the use of creating my own smallcase if I don't have control over it to add and remove stock as many times I want
Also I want to know can we maintain 2 brokers from single smallcase account
Agree. There are many aspects that Smallcase needs to improve.
Excellent piece... loved it. Commission and charges are generally missed while investing. Focus is always on returns. Thank you so much Ankur.

Hi Ankur,
First of all, thank you for creating such amazing content.
Clarity given by Ankur & his Presentation styles are Excellent. I watch your videos frequently. Great Going Ankurji
The only thing that annoys me about Smallcase is if I've made an SIP of 5,000 monthly, the day I'll have to invest on Zerodha, it might turn into 6,000 someday even 7,500. Depends on how stock market opened up. Never is 5,000.
That's because stock prices increase or decrease and you can't buy fractional stocks in India. So minimum 1 unit of each stock
@@Ash-jh3gh I know. It just becomes very inconvenient in monthly budget planning of your savings when suddenly the installment increases by 3k-5k.
Unlike a mutual fund where if it's 5k, it won't be anything else any month.
Otherwise the smallcases are giving me good returns right now, even though the week was bearish.

My reservation with the SIP stays though.
hi sumit , please tell me about subscription charge. suppose i subscribe to a smallcase at 2k/3months , i invest some 50k in it for 3 months. Then after 3 months what will happen ? i need to pay the subscription amount only if i need to invest more money in it right?

CDSL charges are on per script but not on per Quantity on sell of securities.
You may update these information as it is convenient to you!
Thanks for the video!! 😁🤗

Yes correct, charges are not per stock. approx 16Rs charge for complete transaction ( No of shares not matters)

Hi Ankur, Thank you for the Details on Smallcase. Just a question, so if I have to invest in 3 smallcase themes, then do they charge (118 * 3 ) or is it only 118 irrespective of the no of smallcase we subscribe into.
118*3
Now this fees is double
Thanks
1.5x is my default speed😊😊good to see someone recommending speed up👍🏼👍🏼
@Wàrłkoo lol
Ankur ji I admire you, learned a lot from your videos
I know you may mean scrip and not stock but it was confusing for me so posting this comment
Delivery charges are per scrip(you can say company) in zerodha. So wanted to give a bit of clarity because the terminology and example in the video point to dp charges per stock but it is per scrip.... so if you sell 10 stocks of a company you will be charged a fixed fees of 15.. and same happens even if you sell 100 stocks of the company...Below are the charges for 1000 shares sold
Buy 1000
Sell 1100
No of shares 1000
Total gross profit 100000
Total charges 2353.52
Net P&L 97646.48
Charges breakdown
Brokerage 0.00
STT 2100.00
Exchange txn charge 72.45
Clearing charge 0.00
Stamp duty 150.00
SEBI charges 2.10
DP 15.93
GST 13.04
As you can see the dp charges are 15.93 per scrip...and not per stock if it was per stock the charges would be 15000/-
If the user creates if own SmallCase then apart from the Transaction Charges & Brokerage Charges, are there any other charges? Since the user is the creator I believe there will no subscription Charges. Please comment Ankur Warikoo.

Dear ankur this video is excellent. I started investing in smallcase after watching your video. This is a very easy and user-friendly interface. Thanks again for the video. All the best for your future videos. 🙌
Dp charges is fixed per delivery trade and it is 15.93 , it doesn't depend on no of stocks...if i buy penny stocks worth 10000 and may be it becomes many stocks then I may pay as the stocks I sold...kuchi bhiiiii, don't give information without proper information sir!
Just loved the way you explain,
Sir I have completed my BE in civil engineering this year In month of July then I have decided to work on site I got a job but the payment was only 5k because I had no practical knowledge
After some days I met my uncle , he asked what is your salary I said him I am getting 5k then he said that there is very slow growth in site even after 3 years your salary will be max 25-30k
You should learn any coding language and go to the IT sector there you will get good salery as compared to site
After than I left my job and joined a java language classes during classes I was continuosly thinking that I am doing something wrong from civil going to IT is it ok
Then some of my civil friends stared to scare me that after doing IT classes you will get job but after that because u are from civil background they will fire you from job and they will not give you any promotions
And if this happens then what will you do (tum na civil ke rahoge na IT ke)
This thing has scared me too much I continued the classes for 15 days but due to fear I left the classes and went to my village
Then I started searching on UA-cam career options for CIVIL engineer I found 22 options and I can't even cancel one of them and decide on of them I got too confused
Then overthinking started and I was started feeling depressed
In this I wasted 5 months now all my friends got jobs and I am having self doubt that now I can't do anything time is gone , many bad things comes to mind

Such a Brilliant video Ankur Sir 👍🏻
I don't think smallcase product is suitable for beginners. It always shows that portfolio which is currently in profit and also shows unrealistic return value.
The portfolio which becomes old or started showing losses they no longer shows them. The problem is for those users who continue to invest in them. They unnecessarily pay huge charges and suffers losses.
There is also no guarantee that 5-10 years down the line, the particular portfolio will still work or not.
So my advice is to go for mutual fund or index funds.
Smallcase still has to prove its worth. Don't waste your hard earned money.
Invest wisely!!!
So true. This is only suitable for investors with large capital and only some smallcases are worth it.
Beautifully explained. It's so informative.
You should have mentioned charge of Rs13.5 is " per scrip " ( or per company ) and not based on per stock (number wise )
E.g if I sell 5 stocks of wipro = Rs.13.5 will be charged but if I sell even 1 stock of 5 different companies = will be charged 13.5*5 = Rs67.5 for 5 stocks (1 stock per company )
Yes exactly , I have the same question , dp charge suppose to be per company right? If it's per stock in small case or Zerodha then it's a lot of charge
Very much thanks to you brother, all your videos are very helpful for the investment

@@aritradas2303 depends if its a paid subscription then yes. If its a free smallcase then, no.
This is due to the fact that small case subscription fee is not proportional but fixed unlike MFS
Hence for long term investing, I am definitely gonna advice smallcase.
Thanks!!
Excellent elucidation. I could not find the Tata Group Smallcase you've mentioned.

Great video Sir....but I felt the title was misleading...imho it should have been costs EXPLAINED and not EXPOSED😅...

This idea of small case is very interesting. Is it monthly investment ? or I can invest lumpsum for next five years? Can we have small case customer care no?
Mr.Warikoo pls make a vedio on which bank sector's account (public or private) is better for integration with dmat account
Next video on When to exit a smallcase?
Please!
PERSONAL OPNION:
The biggest drawback of smallcase has to be short term capital gain tax on each rebalance.
Wonderful product and your insights 👍👍

This is great video. Small cases are good products for starters. But they don't perform under all market conditions. In fact most of free small cases are poorly managed and don't yield returns any better than index funds. while, I don't know about subscribed small cases, index funds may have better real ROIs than small cases, considering all these expenses
