I’m a competitive swimmer and a trans guy. I agree with what he said in the video; safety comes first, do NOT wear a swim binder. Now I dont know what out trans guys would do for this, because often comp swimmers can’t wear a swim shirt, but obviously you can’t go shirtless, but anyway, I’m not out, and I wear women’s swimsuits, which actually isn’t too bad. Competitive swimsuits are often pretty tight anyway, and I especially LOVE tech suits. For those who don’t know what those are, they’re supposed to be really fast and help you get all dat speeeeeed, but those basically go all the way from your knees up to your shoulders, which is AWESOME, and they’re so tight and compressing (cause that’s the point) but still safe to swim in. So anyway yeah there’s my lil rant
I personally love trans tape, even if it barely binds for me. It's more about the freedom and the lack of wiggly sensation tho. But if you bind wrong/stretch it too much you'll end up with blisters. Literally ripped skin the size of my thumb nail off. Even if it doesn't hurt, it's still super annoying, cause you have to wait for it to heal up b4 taping again.
I binded unsafely with four sports bras for about 5 summers and it was hell. When I got a binder it was life changing even though it was hot as hell it was way better than wearing four sports bras. I ended up using trans tape most of the last few summers and it was okay. I also just tried to stay in my house or pla c es where I didn't have to bind. Honestly if you are wearing a swim shirt you really don't need to bind just when you are walking into the lake cover ur chest and once you are in the lake you are good
Literally same all the way. 4 sports bras for a while, then a friend got me a binder, and then another friend gave me some trans tape which didn’t work for him. Then my parents found out and took my binder and I ran out of trans tape 😂
Watched a few of your videos today which helped me work up the courage to come out to my sister today (I'm Agender, masculine leaning and was AFAB) So thanks for that XD Next step, parents lol
*laughs in 115 degree summers* but seriously I love all your tips some helped me quite a bit so you've earned my sub. I have always been excessively sweaty since I was a kid, like go outside and pour sweat down my armpits and back in 30min sweaty. So I have some tips for people combating summer stink. I'm still pre-T but I think my tips could help more averagely sweaty guys on T also. If you want to stay dry you need a strong antiperspirant. I usually use Mens Mitchum 48hr applied at night after my shower. In the morning I put on a normal deodorant with a smell I like that matches or goes well with my cologne. I apply a small amount of the cologne in the morning and again at lunch. Doing all of this together keeps me mostly dry and smelling good all day.
on the topic of swimming, for me (I don't have that big of chest) wearing a normal 1 peice swimsuit underneath works great for swimming, and must be fine to wear for actual swimming (if yours is not stupidly tight) because they are meant to be worn for actual swimming, it also takes care of the whole underwear and swim trunks problem, even if it doesn't really bind your chest sometimes just the feeling of having somthing tight on your chest feels better
AAAAAAAAAAA NEVER STOP MAKING TRANS VIDSSSS I just subscribed and you're so cool! I'm a Nonbinary transmasc and demiguy AFAB but I'm starting to think I'm just a trans guy. :>
as a broke transmasc who cant buy new clothes and doesnt have a binder nor the ability to get one and relies on hoodie- my solution has been do not leave the house- EVER. Update: i did get binders, but they do not work very well at all, so my methods still stand
I have the regular half-tank binders and a racerback GC2B. Can confirm that the racer shows easily. It's also slightly different than the half-tanks (from what I've experienced anyway). With the racerback my chest is slightly flatter than if I wore a half-tank, but I guess the straps push things around differently, because I get slight shortness of breath a whole lot quicker when wearing a racer. I'd honestly rather wear a normal half-tank and sweat than put up with the lung-constricting racer >.< Not sure if anyone else has felt that way too?
Hi I’ve been using tape on my chest for a few months now and I’ve found it works pretty well! I have a smaller and perkier chest and it works perfectly to smooth things out a bit. I don’t use trans tape I use KT tape because it’s cheaper and I’ve found it works just as well. It’s used exactly the same way and is perfectly safe as long as its removed properly. The pieces are a lot thinner then trans tape but it still works well. It’s cheaper and can actually be found in most pharmacies or Walmart if they have a pharmacy section
im pretty sure chlorine can ruin clothes if you let it sit too many times, or maybe it's a skin irritant, we always wash chlorine out of our swimsuits before drying them, and i would recommend washing the chlorine out of your binder before letting it air dry- ❤ i dont know if it really does anything- but thats just how we do it ^^
As for trans tape; I LOVE trans tape, it works really well for me. But as xe said in the video, it can be expensive. I have really unsupportive parents so I can’t buy any of this stuff myself. My friend gave me some of his transtape and it worked really really well. I’d say that if you have another transmasc/non-binary friend who uses transtape, I’d recommend that you maybe try using some of theirs first to see if it works for you ❤
trans tape doesn't work for me that well either lol, i swear my tatas are just too bulky even though they're small. yet i still spent $50 on a giant bulk of 3 inch by 105 feet or something of kinesiology tape 😭 binders give me a lot of rib pain so i switched to tape. doesn't do that well of a job but lets me pass in a t shirt.
this was helpful but part of my problem is that i live in florida. it’s always really hot during the summer ( sweltering ) and i’m also pretty dysphoric about my arms ((i would say that this is the most prominent part any dysphoria i experience)) so i don’t know what to do 😢
Also, about binding safely you can wear a compressed sports bra and you can do literally everything in them and they’re going to bind not as good but still bind
I use kt tape instead of trans tape because it's cheaper and it works but idk if it's the same as transtape because I've never used it before but you could try Kinesthetic tape
shorts r gonna be a nightmare for me. pants hide my hips and shit for me, like baggy pants and stuff like that and i can never find masc shorts that r baggy (i usually prefer shorts that go over the knees, like y2k) so idk \(:/)/. im js a boy needing short EVEN FOR THE WINTER.. LIKE ITS 70 DEGREES OUTSIDE RN IN THE BEGINNING OF DECEMBER 😨😰
@@TheosGhost damn I completely forgot that stores like those have clothes too- well time to go to target haha. Mostly my problem was specifically clothes stores were just really expensive
I machine wash all my Wonababi & LGBTQ Unicorns binders on cold or warm, and then hang them to dry - and they've been doing fine with it so far! Edit: typo
I need some help, pls. I bind with two sports bras (stretched out) and a DIY binder which I made out of my pants (it doesn't bind too well on it's own) and rn they're in the washing machine (they had a terrible smell, and those were my only sports bras). I don't know how to bind atm. Any tips?
Am i the only trans guy who loves summer? Like i get to wear my hawaiian shirts, and idk i feel more masculine in just a Tshirt and shorts😂 Also im cold 24/7 in winter, im really hoping thats gonna change when i get T.
I machine wash my gc2b binder (I have been since I've gotten it and didn't even know I wasn't supposed to 😟) and as far as I'm aware, I've had no problems. Why am I allegedly not supposed to machine wash it tho? In nervous, will Satan appear or something 💀
For me, Hawaiian shirts worked last summer. The patterns helped me hide my chest and they fall well in my hips with shorts. I've heard some people have issues with the patterns having the opposite effect on the chest, but the material and shape of the shirt seems to be useful. Sports bras tend to be more "light" and meant for sweating, so a tight one may work. You can put on 2 sports bras, too And also, body language. The accessories and clothing tips theo gave in the vid still apply if you don't have a binder
i have a question about binders for for school and your in gym class, should i take off my binder and replace with a sports bra when we're changing out?
If that's an option for you, I highly recommend for you to do this. Do NOT do exercises when you're with a binder, it can seriously harm you and be very painful, so if you can use a sports bra in gym class, do it
after filming this ive come to learn its actually quite the debate amongst cis men on whether or not to wear underwear whilst swimming, no one in my family did so i always assumed that's how every cis guy went swimming lol
i know its been like 11 months since u commented, but here u go the way i did it is that i just asked a friend if i could ship something to his house and he gave it to me at school use a prepaid visa gift card (u can find it in almost any store) so it cant be traced

Honestly get kt tape, it is pretty much the same (look for wide tape). It is easier to ask for it if you happen to be athletic. Amazon sells lots.
Your t-shirt collection is freaking awesome 👌
My plan for the summer coming up is to wear a short binder with a tank top, long shorts and trainers with no socks
