    I went to his company's website expecting them to be EcoWater vendors. The fact that they are for a different brand speaks volumes about this high praise. Thank you for being a man of integrity

      Our local Costco has a EcoWater vendor, but the vender will only work with city water and will not help if you are on well water. We have had different Culligan units during the past 54 years. When the unit broke this time, the Culligan man spent about 15 minutes but was unable to repair the mother board because it was produced in the United States and they no longer support it. All their products are produced in China now. He charged me $123 and wanted to sell me a new unit. Buy contrast when I contacted NORTHCOAST WATERWORKS in Windsor CA. Dominic came out and spent two hours trying to solve our water problems at NO Charge . He first tried to fix the Culligan unit but was unable. Then he tested our water and showed me the different problems that I had with the water which Culligan never addressed. While they offer products from different manufacturers, what he felt would be best for us was a Kinetico water system.

    Great information. However, my biggest issue with all the system you recommend. Is they requiring me having someone come out just to get pricing on the product. I personally do not trust any company that in order to get the information I want. Requires them coming to my house. Because one I see that is aggressive sales. They are not going to want to leave until they get a sale. Two pricing for the product should be up front. A nut cost what a nut cost. You don't need to talk to me about what I am going to use the nut for to give me a price. I find they do this to up sale you or try and over charge. As there is a commission on the sale. These are companies I avoid.
    Also, I don't want to waste my time or their time. If I have a budget of say $3000 max. I don't need them coming out spending over an hour telling how amazing their product is and then saying what I want will cost $30,000. Only to have me say no thanks. Them say hold up. Make a phone call and say okay I just spoke with my manger. If you can put down $5000 today, we can do it for $15000 total. NO! You could have offered $15k 2 minutes ago. Now I have to wonder how much you're still trying to overcharge me.
    Last of all I am a grown man. I know how to turn the water off coming into my house. I know how to clear the line. I know how to tie into lines. I can install a water softener. I don't need to pay someone to do something I can do myself. It's not rocket science. Plus, what I don't know how to do. There are books I can read and videos I can watch.
    Now, you are very helpful, and I have no issue with you. I don't want you to think that. But there are a large number of people that search this topic. That what to be able to gather all the information they need without having to deal with anyone. Then if what they need requires dealing with people, they will do that. At this point I am likely to go with an Aquasure setup. It's likely not the greatest setup. But it's under my budget. I can install it myself. The maintenance isn't so bad that can't handle it.

      Just went through this myself. EcoWater had a sales guy come out and do a whole presentation. The refiner was quoted at $6300. Another company sold only Watertech which is another American made high end system. They also had to come out and try to sell me on it. Mid level was $5K top was $10K!! Third company I wanted to come out wanted $99 just to get me pricing (waived if I go with them of course). I said no way. I ended up going with a plumber who gave me pricing over the phone within one minute. He recommended a Morton softener from Menards. I’m getting a 48K grain softener with Wi-Fi and a three stage whole house filtration system installed for $850. Softener 650ish and filters from Amazon 400ish. All in

      Exactly! I’ve been hit with these predatory marketing systems. Worse than multilevel! MLM‘s baby even drive away your best friends. Some of these sales guys detect they’re not getting the sale and they’ll say something like you do. Love your wife right you care about your children’s health?? They’ll say that in front of you and your family. It leaves you in this position where you have to buy the product because if you don’t, your onlooking family will know that you don’t love them enough

    Isn’t Ecowater the parent company of Ecopure, who manufactures all the big box store brands like Rheem and Morton? The Rheem manual carries an NSF logo, so wouldn’t they be just as good as the Ecowater?

    lol my well water is 1800 ppm hardness so around 110 gpg, what size softener would you recommend for that? I have a 96k grain system now with a fleck controller, water only feels soft for maybe a day or two after regeneration, I'm filtering it before the softener from 25 to 5 micron, and my softener has 10% crosslinked resin.

    • @AngelWater
      @AngelWater  2 місяці тому

      Your water is extreme. You will most likely need two water softeners. One after another. both should be minimum of 96k grain of resin. normally people with that hard of water we install a whole house reverse osmosis system after that.

      @@AngelWater yeah my neighbors softener is like 140k grain. Five house on my street and everyone’s water is crap. At least there is no iron, I moved my regen exception from 14 days to every 4 days. I looked into a whole house RO and almost bought one but we now have the possibility of getting rural water, hwy expansion forced rural water authority to lay a bigger line. Now everyone in this area just have to get together and hire a contractor to lay a mainline 9k feet and all the subsequent lateral lines then on top of those costs we have to pay the RWA a $6500 “membership fee” to set a meter at our house, what a racket.

The cost came in at $6500!!!. No way I can pay that. What do you think about the Genesis units? That’s more my budget. Trying to avoid the big box stores.

    • @noahhardt6170
      @noahhardt6170 Місяць тому

      Probably none, but what Drew is talking about is that if your water softener is undersized for the size of the home and family, is that volume of use can overrun the resin media in the water softener. The amount of resin or capacity of a softener only has so much surface area to collect calcium and magnesium, some iron before the resin can no longer pull that out of the water. So if daily volume of water use is beyond the capacity of the softener you’ll have an inefficient system. Your experience might be like “I get nice soft water for a day or 2 after regen but then it feels hard”

      Not a huge fan. I am a fan of their ECR3702 which takes out up to 10ppm of Iron. In addition you want to always test for Iron bacteria because that will change the type of Iron filter you will buy.

    Eco-water is a propriety item and is sold strictly through Eco-water. Very expensive to own one of these systems and you cannot in their eyes maintain your own system yourself you have to call on them. Service call is expensive also. I bought my Unit 20 years ago just under 4,000 dollars. I will never buy from them again.
