Galaxy Mochi Moon Cake, beautiful cosmic dessert for Mid Autumn Festival

  • Galaxy Mochi Mooncakes Full Recipe:
    Servings: 20
    Ingredients
    {Mung Bean Paste}
    400g Split Mung Beans
    1000ml Water
    200g Sugar
    1 Tbsp Taro Powder
    {Mochi Batter}
    100g Glutinous Rice Flour
    80g Rice Flour
    50g Corn Starch
    80g Powdered Sugar
    2 Tbsp Vegetable Oil
    220ml Water or Milk
    1 tsp Taro Powder
    1 tsp Beet Root Powder
    Direction:
    1. Put split mung beans and water in a pot and steam at medium-low heat for 20-25 minutes until soft.
    2. Mash the steamed mung beans till very fine and stir in sugar while still hot. Let cool and set aside.
    3. If you want to make a two-color filling, you can take out half of the mung bean paste and add taro powder to the mix.
    4. Divide the mung bean paste into 20 portions and let cool for later use.
    5. Pour glutinous rice flour, Rice Flour, Corn Starch, and powdered sugar into a mixing bowl, add oil and water, and mix well.
    6. Put the Mochi batter into a pot and steam for 15 minutes.
    7. You can add taro powder and beetroot powder to Mochi batter after it cools down.
    8. Put a piece of plastic wrap on the table, take out an appropriate amount of colored Mochi dough, mix different colors, and wrap it with mung bean paste.
    9. Put the Mochi Mooncake into the model, and sprinkle some corn flour on the table to prevent sticking.
    10. Remember to put the finished Mochi Mooncakes in the refrigerator for 1~2 hours before eating!
