Going through this repair soon thank you for your video! I replaced thermostat and still overheated so im assuming the water pump has to be it after going through it all. Wish me luck!
Did you fill the coolant from the bleed screw on top? Also did you follow my thermostat replacement video to make sure you did not install it backwards? Not saying you did but I have seen it happen
@@Sellthoseflippingcars yes I did actually watch the thermostat video before replacing, figured out this weekend that I just didn’t fill it enough haha the leak I do have is a small tranny fluid leak coming from a cooling line. So the coolant is good now the fans all work and nice and full.
Just saw this response so my apologies on the tardiness. That definitely happens lol, gotta love bleeding these systems out lol. Yeah those lines tear down over time so they need replaced, more frequent depending on the weather where you live.
Thank you brother! I try to be positive with all vehicle repairs, being negative will only make the repair take longer and increases the risk of you breaking something. Thank you for watching!!!
Before you start and remove fan, do you have to remove the part labeled M3176 at the 1:57 mark of your video? Not sure what it is called, but it looks like it guards the fan.
@@Sellthoseflippingcars Thanks for the reply also,, I changed the alternator about 3 months ago , it was literally a 20 minute job, shop wanted 379, couldn't believe how easy it was.
@@nimrodpaul6875 I totally agree some of these shops are getting out of hand with their prices. Great job on replacing your alternator! Yes on the 5.2 L V8 it is going to be similar to this video but not identical of course. You will have to remove your alternator again and your AC compressor. Do not take the lines off of the AC compressor that way you do not have to recharge the system. Just take the bolts out and move it to the side without bending the ac lines. You will also have to remove the idler pulley on the front of the engine as well it is on the top and between the alternator and the AC compressor. After doing. And removing the serpentine belt you should have the great view of where your water pump is located right on the front of your engine. I hope this helps Paul! Thanks for watching
Havent even seen the video and its already informative! Do you think you could do a video on replacing a set of injectors on a Caterpillar C16 or 3126?
Make sure you be careful if you are doing a set of injectors on a diesel engine. A diesel is not like a gasoline engine even though new age gasoline engines are switching back to a mechanical fuel pump. A diesel surpasses even a gasoline mechanical fuel pump at 1300 PSI. So a great tip when working on a fuel system on a diesel engine, is to use a piece of cardboard. The cardboard can be used as a shield from the fuel when breaking the fuel line's open. The lines should already be depressurized by removing the fuel pump fuse from the fuse panel while the vehicle or equipment is running. What are you working on that has a Cat C16??
@@Sellthoseflippingcars Oh i was just joking around. Though I think i will swap a 3126 into a 85 Dodge ram one day. That fuel system uses 3,500-4,000psi of oil to fire the injectors. Thanks for the tip!
😅 jack thank you men good video i learned something today it's just that easy
You are most welcome!!! Thank you for watching!!!

Yes you can remove that to free up even more room to work with. Thank you for watching!
How many clamps did you use to keep the coolant in or did you replace as well?
You will have a clamp on the end of the radiator hose. Each end of the hose should have a clamp to hold hose
My bolts are different size length
Remember what position you take the bolts out of because they need to go in the same spot to reach the bolt hole. Thank you for watching!
Hello my friend my name Ali I would like to ask you how much you pay for the water pump
Hi Ali! When I paid for the pump it was $30 - $40 it is not bad. The up to date price is on the link in the video description. Thanks for watching!
Got a 95 grand cherokee time 4 a water pump,, no videos on the v8, do ya think it's much different than your good video.?
No it should be pretty similar to this video. What liter size is your engine?
@@Sellthoseflippingcars 5.2, I think that's the 318

Lol A-dog now that would be a fun one! Gotta find one to work on though 🤔

That will be an insane amount of torque! Yeah that PSI is way up there for diesels. You are most welcome!
