I'd be bankrupt if I lived over there. The amount of stuff you have in your thrift stores is unbelieveable. I see you walk past things on the shelves and I say to myself 'I'd buy that' about 50 times! I absolutely love the Thomas Toft pottery, it's stunning! I love those wooden roll top storage boxes. I have never seen them here in the UK.
Hi Laura. I've been looking to thrift a Penguin ice bucket since I started watching your channel. Well, I finally found one today at Goodwill for $4.79! Patience certainly paid off.
I live in Hungary and thrift stores here are not always that good, but your channel inspired me to go around my city of Budapest to discover new places... and now I have one more passion. My sister is turning 30 next week and I thrifted her an amazing vintage cat figurine just yesterday. She is not a huge vintage-lover so I am a bit nervous but hopefully she will love my find. 😊
Hi Laura, the black plates were by Alessi an Italy company that make kitchen and tableware. They are in the higher end price bracket and very collectible.
I get most excited about something beautiful that I can style/use in my home. Interior design and thrifting are both passions. And I loved everything you bought and can’t pick a favourite today.😊
so great to hear. My son and daughter both are in Japan. Its an absolutely wonderful country but you have just missed the snow capped mount fuji if you are travelling in April, but you will be able to witness the cherry blossom!
I love finding something at Goodwill that will look great in my home...! The little watering can was my fav...gosh I love it, when I scrub and clean something and it turns out even better..!
When I go thrifting, I am typically looking for clothing, but I also get excited when I find something for my home. I truly enjoy your content. Thanks for sharing.
I love watching your videos. I was always a big antique shopper, but the last couple of years I have been limited in my mobility and haven't been able to get out and shop. Thank you for sharing your adventures. I have 3 or 4 thrifting shows I have been watching and it really does my thrifting heart good to keep up with you. ❤❤❤
I love the Polish pottery spoon. My guess is it has a specialized purpose, but probably not intended for burning incense. The Amber glass candle holder is very cool, too.
The teak slide boxes....sounds like such a great interagency idea. Looking forward to that. Also, the blown glass candlestick was beautiful...all cool finds.
The minute I saw the salt and pepper shakers, I knew that they would match your kitchen so perfectly! It’s like you had them custom made😊 I don’t know why I haven’t been over to your side of the city to shop yet, other than I don’t really need anything. The difference between the items in your Goodwill & my local store is mind blowing. I am making a commitment to head that way sometime next week! 😊xoxo
The salt n pepper shakers are wonderful! Great for styling but so practical for those of us with arthritic hands because they are great to grip and shake. My new quest is to find something similar. As always thanks for the inspiration.
The wood salt and pepper shakers were my favorite. I love finding some thing valuable I can flip, but I also love finding wonderful items for my own home decorating you’re such an inspiration. Thanks, Laura.
You are so sweet and upbeat. I love watching you pick for resale or to use in your home or studio. I am amazed at the amount of merchandise offered in your stores, the quality, prices, and how well organized everything is. I think I would go "nuts!" I have been in business, but am now just a long time collector, so I like to see the ways you use and decorate with your finds. Unfortunately, there is only so much space. Would you email me about a piece of turquoise jewelry I'd like to purchase? You offered it at the West Coast sale so it may no longer be available. Thanks for your consideration. Keep having fun! Cat
I get excited when I find something in the thrift store I love, but don't know where I'm going to put it or use it. Then when I get home I look around and find the perfect place where is looks really awesome.
Love the wood salt & pepper shakers (and how you found both to keep them together!)…also that spoon is very pretty. Another great thrifting adventure for sure 🌸
I’ve watched everything on your playlists, so all content I’m viewing now is new and it seems like an eternity before it’s posted! I can’t wait to watch the 2023 Italy videos!
Your GW shopping videos are my zen. ☺️ To answer your in-video questions: I mostly shop for home decor, similar to your style. And my favorite thing from this video was the ceramic spoon you turned into a salt holder - that looked fabulous! I also get a little thrill when all of the things in my cart look good together! 🤭
I think the straw pot with the cute lid was my favorite. I liked how you styled it with Lavendar. I get more excited about things I can keep versus sell.
It’s AMAZING that you can still find great prices at your local Good Wills!! The ones in my area have raised their prices so much that it’s hard to find items that I can stock in my own booth in a local antique store. I’m curious to know what other folks out there are experiencing in your towns?
I loved the amber candleholder, and the watering can. I notice the candle holders you find. I saw a unique one in another video that was 3 hooked together. I mostly watch your videos for fun and to get ideas, but for myself because i like decorating. Love to see your finds😊
Laura, you will love Tokyo! People are gracious and friendly. Food was fantastic and fresh. Unfortunately, I didn’t get to thrift shop, since both my husband and son are into technology, so basically went shopping for technical things. I did however, get to visit a few gardens, imperial garden and the one at the hotel I stayed at ( Otani ). Next visit ( and there will be ! ) I plan on thrift shopping and visit more gardens. Oh and another couple of things I liked were, the drink vending machines they have on practically every street corner, and how clean and litter free Tokyo was! The drink vending machines had every conceivable drink you can imagine! So go and enjoy!
Love love the watering can. Even more beautiful when cleaned up. You are so very talented with what you do and keep us entertained with your fun video's. Thank you.
The picture frame was my favourite item : ) Love your channel and so interesting to see the kind of vintage items you find in the USA. I'm from Aotearoa New Zealand and we have our own local retro/vintage/antique pieces. There is a fair amount of UK, Asian and European influence to be found, too. I like the quirky mid century Australasian takes on Carlton Ware as well as Japanese pottery and kitsch. Also partial to 60s Denby. It is so well made, beautiful and functional.
I have two favorites today. I love the butter dish you found. I have been searching for a larger one like the one you found. Unfortunately, I seem to only come across smaller ones or ones with serious cracks in them. The other item is the vintage, teak roll-up box. My eyes got really big when I saw you pick it up. I don't know why, but I just fell in love with it. What you have planned to do with your collection is so creative. I hope it works! I'm really enjoying your channel, and realizing that you live in my area makes it even more exciting. Now I know there's good stuff out there, I just need to spend more time thrifting. Who knows, maybe I'll run into you sometime!
I love love love your turquiose earrings you have on in the beginning of the video. The salt shakers I would have picked up as well. You have good taste. Thanks for sharing. 😊
Greetings from Norway ! We don't have "Goodwill" stores here, but some smaller vintage shops. I just found a teal hand made 1960's glass cylinder vase in one. About a week later I found a same color hand made matching vase in an other shop. The latter vase bottle shaped, with a short neck. (Both shops are run by a missionary society). The teal vases will go well with my purple "sputnik" vase from "Strömberghyttan" in Sweden. I've become a little more color brave from watching your styling... You're a great inspiration ! Love from Oslo 👩🦳🇳🇴
I love your videos. I used to have an antique store 20 years ago, and I've had booths in antique malls. I'm just starting to get back into the game because I'm retiring in 11 months from my government job. For me, the most exciting thing is to find a good deal on something I can resell.
You will love Japan but one week is no where near enough. I lived there four years 40 years ago. There were no thrift stores there then except Salvation Army in a very obscure location that was open on Saturday mornings only but there were second hand stores and antique stores galore. I went around by bike nearly every day and discovered many. Every Sunday a different temple had a flea market and these were fantastic until the English language newspapers published their schedule and the foreigners came and prices skyrocketed. You should definitely see if the temple markets will be on while you are there. Look for English language newspapers online and contact them for a schedule.
Always get excited when I see your videos pop up as I love going on your thrifting journeys with you. Some gorgeous finds you have there... but may favourites are the butter dish (cos Im currently looking for one in this style) and the amber candle holder. Thank you for brightening up my lunch break :)
I like a lot of the things u found (the roll top box especially). But can I just mention your horse artwork? I love that piece. (Charcoal drawing ? Watercolor? Whatever it is, I love it!)
I thrift for myself mostly. I bought a large crystal bowl in a simple block design. 24% lead crystal made in Poland, paid $10.00 for it. I also picked up a small crystal bowl that has the pineapple and diamond design on it. Both bowls are extremely heavy and beautiful. I thrift with a girlfriend and we go to lunch also. We are both retired from a medical office we worked in, so it gives us great fun and we keep in touch this way. I have sent my sister a few pewter pieces as well, I have a reputation as being an excessive shopper, but in all things I hardly ever pay retail. It’s therapeutic for me! The pewter is super inexpensive at GoodWill and Salvation Army.
Thanks for the fun video, Laura! I love when you add to your Tiki collection. I love the glass candlestick! When I thrift, I'm usually looking for gifts or something to add to my collections (carved wood cats, Blenko glass, candleholders, Fenton animals), or I thrift for books and magazines to use for paper crafting. My favorite store is the Value Village in Tigard Oregon. ❤❤❤
Hi Laura. I love looking in charity shops and once in a blue moon I pick up an item I really love. This year it was a small blue glass vase with a gold rim and white lilies on it which matches a red one perfectly I have had for over 3o years of since the 70s.
I'd be bankrupt if I lived over there. The amount of stuff you have in your thrift stores is unbelieveable. Oh I’m sooo jealous, I can’t find one anywhere! Congratulations!! 🇨🇦
I have been thrifting for a few years and have NEVER seen one. Must be a west coast thing..lol.
I found one here in Florida. Has a small dent but is otherwise good.
Sadly, I’m more of the person who donates a lot of cool stuff. After watching your channel, I am inspired to thrift. I will find the time. Thanks.
If people didn't donate cool stuff, there would not be anything cool to find!
What city are you donating in???
@@theresagarza1578 Georgia
Love that! I love to donate the good stuff too; rotations revitalize in loops.
How do you keep your house looking so minimal with having so many vintage finds. My house ends up looking like a hoarders thrift store 😂
I like to see things look decortive while on display. I enjoy touring through thrift stores that take pride in what they do.
Can't pick just one thing! Your sense of eclectic style is so exciting, love the way you blend the items together.
I live in Hungary and thrift stores here are not always that good, but your channel inspired me to go around my city of Budapest to discover new places... and now I have one more passion. So did your sister love her gift?
@@robinjones1955 yes she did 🥰
Hi Laura, the black plates were by Alessi an Italy company that make kitchen and tableware. They are in the higher end price bracket and very collectible.
I had wondered if there was a way to repair the scratches?
I almost fainted when I saw those Alexis plates!
The little watering can was my favourite. I have a ton of plants too and to be able to display it as well as use it is awesome.
I was so happy with how it cleaned up 😍
Loved the little watering can almost as much as what you did with your hair!
So cute!
I get most excited about something beautiful that I can style/use in my home. Interior design and thrifting are both passions. And I loved everything you bought and can’t pick a favourite today.😊
My favorite finding from today was that beautiful spoon ! I loved it! Thank you, dear Laura, for sharing this video. 😍
so great to hear.
You were right your green chicken was originally white. It was sold at the Dollar Tree (I think they still have some along with dogs). 😊
Loved the wood salt n pepper’s and the amber candlestick holder ❤
You find the best things and stage them equally beautiful. That big ceramic decorative spoon was my fav.
You were correct. The shakers look amazing on that shelf. Your shirt looks quite Scandinavian as well.
When I go thrifting, I am typically looking for clothing, but I also get excited when I find something for my home. I truly enjoy your content. Thanks for sharing.

The teak slide boxes....sounds like such a great interagency idea. Looking forward to that. Also, the blown glass candlestick was beautiful...all cool finds.
I love finding both useful and beautiful things. I’ve been looking for a French butter dish for awhile and finally found one a few weeks ago.
My favorite was the salt and pepper shaker. I have found at a goodwill a beautiful wooden salad bowl in perfect condition. 🥰 Thanks for sharing. 😊
The minute I saw the salt and pepper shakers, I knew that they would match your kitchen so perfectly! I love the spoon, and the amber glass candleholder. I noticed that gorgeous horse art you had in your staging. I love it! I adore horses.
I adore your positive energy and loving spirit that you put out into the world! Stay blessed!
You missed the "Laura" stoneware mug right at the very beginning! 😆
I was thinking the same, and it seemed like a nice pottery mug.🙂
I thought the same thing as well 😊

The salt n pepper shakers are wonderful! Great for styling but so practical for those of us with arthritic hands because they are great to grip and shake. My new quest is to find something similar. As always thanks for the inspiration.
