Hi everyone! UA-cam is working on rolling out a new feature that will auto dub videos in different languages. I believe this will be a great feature that will help a lot of people find new content that might not be recorded in their primary language. However, it appears there’s been some issues with this feature, issues you may have experienced with my initial video upload last week. It appears that viewers that are watching via a smart TV have been having mixed results with different languages playing. This is not unique to my videos as other creator’s videos have also experienced this. I’ve uploaded this video with auto dubbing feature turned off and will do so until issues with smart TV’s are resolved. Please comment below if you’re having any language issues with this video. 💙Laura
It was so much fun to meet you at the Pop Up event a earlier this month. Just wondering, I'd heard that UA-cam was introducing a feature where viewers could make transcription suggestions when the closed-captioning gets it wrong. Have you heard this?
Did you notice you have the astrological sign Taurus and the other vase in the photo is Sagittarius? The plate Aries? There must've been an entire set.
It cracks me up how far Jesse has come. He didn't want to be on camera at first. Now he cracks jokes, talks like a pro and does a fabulous job. Excellent job, Jesse!
Laura, this has been the best video! Shout out to Jesse and his find. Thank you for the videos over the years. I keep learning from you, and when you follow your heart, the pieces meant for you will gravitate to you.
Laura..I watch people like you not just because you go to awesome places and find unique treasures...but because you are authentically altruistic and have the desire to help others make great finds too. Leaving a Lalique piece behind so someone else can be excited was a true testament to that.
Laura, when I was new to you too about a year ago, you were one of the first people that I subscribed to. I’ve watched a lot of your past shows and they are very addicting. I knew you had something special going on and at the end of this video today, you prove me right. Hold onto that piece of pottery, knowing in your gut that it was special and had to be worth something was pretty spectacular. You’re a bad ass businesswoman and I know The sky is the limit when it comes to your talent and know how. My mother was a strong willed, and most importantly kind entrepreneur in her beloved chosen profession who saw all her dreams come true also. you remind me of her.
That means so much to me! Thank you for the kind words This actually made me tear up ❤️ Love that you see some of your mother in me. She sounds like a wonderful woman to look up to as a mother. I always say the sky isn’t even really a limit because who knows what wormholes might mean for travel across the universe someday 😂 Kidding but it sure is incredible what comes to life with a dream, hard work and optimism ❤️
This was one of her best videos...because of her words at the end that rang true and had that arrow to the ❤ effect on some of us. I've been thrifting 40+ years and it is true that you develop a radar for quality and sometimes don't realize it until you do the research. She has a good eye and a good heart.
Bee’s wax in clear would bring a great polish to those Raku pots if you want to make it looked a bit sheeny and less porous avoiding marks and stains… As a ceramicists that’s we would do, it would bring out those colours too… Try it on the bottom and see if you like it? 😊
Not only do I love, love, love your videos but I particularly appreciate your attitude toward helping the vendors (ie. leaving the tray even though you paid full price) as well as leaving things for others to pick up and enjoy/profit from ( hello glass bowl from previous video). Class act Laura and Jesse!!! Very inspiring.
Hi Laura! You bought my great grandmother's dresser set with the 2 frames and tray from my friend Roxy's booth at Lighthouse Antiques! My great grandmother's name was Mabel Fain and she was quite a character!
Oh wow!! What a small world!! I can’t believe it! That’s so special ❤️ Was she selling them for you? Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment. I really love them!
I love that you leave things in the stores for other people! When I began thrifting for resale I often would just buy anything that I thought had value and it didn't feel as fulfilling. Now I always ask myself the question, "Would you have that piece in your home?" If the answer is no, I don't pick it up. And in the end, if the piece doesn't sell I'll be happy to keep it. Thank you for the video. Always learn and enjoy them. ~ Kris
Laura the thick textured paint you like is called Impasto. It is done with a palette knife and is an old technique which became popular again in the 60s and 70s. Thank you for the interesting content in all your videos 👩🏻🎨
You two are amazing. I love it when you pick together. Jesse is just a dear. How lucky that you found a man who likes shopping. My husband sits out in the parking lot honking the horn.
Love that phrase, wherever the road takes us, my late husband road a motorcycle, when asked where he was headed, he’d always say “ wherever the road takes me” Love you guys, always bring a fun ride👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻💗
Loved this episode, especially the updates segment. My dad was a manufacturer’s representative for high end home decor lines (Daum, Sevres, Rosenthal, Lladro, danish pewter and teak lines, stainless steel flatware), all in the 60’s through 90’s. Because I helped him in his showroom, when I thrift, I can often pick out some great pieces that other buyers miss. I recently found a signed Daum vase for $2.99 at the Salvation Army! I agree with you that you have to look a lot to learn, and trusting your instincts is always good. Always learn from your videos and enjoy the thrill of the hunt with you and Jesse. Thanks again!
Cardin = Car-dan. If you can leave off the final n and make the “dan” nasal, you’re doing even better. Btw, I have wanted to see you and Jesse do more styling competitions. I laughed so hard when you did the first one, I’ve been wanting more!
So amazing that you found a Rude Osolnik! He was a friend of my grandfather, and I remember meeting him once when I was a child (maybe in 1980 or 1981?). He had a studio in Berea, Kentucky. I remember how good it smelled - like fresh wood and stain. 😊
I admire your patience, 8 years is a long time to hold onto something that you aren’t 100% sure about but clearly your patience has paid off, I’m certainly no expert but holy moly, it sure looks like the real deal
When shopping with an Indian friend in a Rug Shop in Bengalor, India, the artisan owner kept pressuring me to buy. I finally said that I really appreciated the beauty and quality of the rugs but they just weren’t my style of decor. My Indian friend said that I said it so nicely and courteously. Just because it is valuable and beautiful doesn’t mean you have to get it. Youre right, Laura!
I love the new ending sharing updates and stories! That pottery piece you held on to for 8 years trying to identify it was well worth it! Again, Laura and Jesse, this was a fantastic video showing all your lovely finds. This is hard work but you and Jesse make it seem easy and fun, along with all the trips you organize! I hope to go on one of these trips some day. Can’t wait to see what you bring to the next pop up event in February. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Oh my gosh, you guys are soooo FUN! I love all your finds. Your excitement! and all your awesome knowledge, you guys have helped me recognize my style and I’m loving it. Honestly, I wish you all were on UA-cam 7 days a week, ok, you all do need a break. Lol If I lived in your area, I truly believe we would be friends, I sure hope, ok, I’m rambling enough, but you guys really are awesome, amazing and you truly enjoy what you do, I’m happy for you all and wish you guys continued success, thank you for everything. 🥰
French canadian from Quebec here 😊 Pierre (I think you know since one of your cat is named Jean-Pierre) but Pee-Air and Cardin : the CA you prononce like the CA in cadaver + add the french R. DIN is a litle tricky… think of the way you prononce the english word AND. Remove the D sound at the end and place it at the beginning. Hopefully it’ll make sense! 😂
Love everything you do. You’ve been an inspiration and a wonderful teacher. After I saw your vid on your first Don Freedman tapestry I was hooked. Had to have one. Since then, you’ve been living rent free in my head. Thanks for all your hard work bringing us along every week. Your vibe is magical. Fan for life. Amanda in Seattle.
I have always liked the way you end your videos by staging your finds. The new addition is great, very interesting! And Jesse is definitely a fun feature!! Can’t wait for the next episode.
🎉 so excited wooden vase I commented on last week was indeed a Rude Olnick. Fun to realize my guilty obsession of watching thrift videos is actually a legitimate learning opportunity 😊
i have been a fan of you for a pretty long time and have always appreciated how you share so much information and history. BUT……I love this channel SOOOOOO much with Jessie in videos!!!! Just takes your already fabulous channel to a whole other level!!!
The swivel armchair at 09:26 that you commented to be a new reproduction is a Swedese Happy Swing. It’s actually a high end Swedish design furniture designed by Roger Persson in 2003. A new one retails at 2000+ dollars. Lots of cool furniture in that store for sure! The Italian leather sofa was an amazing find!
🎶Precious and few are the moments we Toucans share Quiet and blue, like the sky, I'm hung over you And if I can't find my way back home, it just wouldn't be fair 'Cause precious and few are the moments we Toucans share🎶🦜🦜
I loved the new updates and identifications at the end of this video, and would love to see it become a recurring thing. You’re so much fun to watch, and I’ve really enjoyed seeing you thrift in some different places, like the Goodwill bins and all the Tacoma locations.
You are very sweet in how you explain things to people who have been critical of something you have done. Many You Tube content creators have lost their tact, but you are so pleasant and worth watching!
Wow, truly loved this video. You did a wonderful job explaining how you identify and why you picked up certain pieces. Good pick up Jesse!!! Woot Woot!
Really enjoyed the ending of the updates and identification! It was nice just to hear your personal stories added in. The value in that is immeasurable upon itself. Your joy and enthusiasm is always contagious.
As I wait patiently for your new videos I watch other pickers. I must say your channel is my absolute favourite. Your choices are so my style and I find myself yelling at the others who pass over the things I know u would grab instantly. 🤣🤣
Laura, you and Jesse are tireless! The effort and passion you put into thrifting, identifying, posting your videos and selling things must be so time consuming! Luckily you love it, and we love the journey with you! The toucan intrigued me because it took on the colors of whatever you had behind it. It could look different every day! Keep the lion. 😊
I went to a garage sale last weekend, everyone ignored the $20 teaset. I snapped it up and yesterday it sold for $300. It certainly does pay to know what you are looking at. My best score without knowing what I had(at the time) was a pink lotus Cathrineholm bowl for $2 which I bought because I love enamelware and pink. I still have that one.
I can never complain that my Goodwill never has anything good anymore because you guys were practically in my neighborhood and found all those amazing pieces. And Jesse finding his first Bitossi for that price! Way to go Jesse!
That was one of your best videos - enjoyed it start to finish! Love seeing Jesse more involved in your thrifting adventures. You have incredible chemistry.
Love the IDs at the end - for me that is half the fun - the research. I have one piece I've been holding onto for what feels like forever.... it's a redware plate with the most intricate florals attached. It reminds me of those old posters where the more you look the more you see. No signature and am still looking to find something about it. I'm very blessed - like you I get a gut feeling and so pick something up. More times than not I find it has big value. The thrill of the hunt! The best part of thrifting! Blessings!
I love the German Christmas markets. Growing up my mother bought us hand blown Christmas ornaments. We got to watch them blow them. I did the same for my daughter when she was Growing up. We moved stateside when she was 10 so she only has 10 for her tree. I kept mine in my hope chest and I kept hers in one until she was old enough to keep them.
I wrote under the original post that the lion head is not French but from Marbell Stone Art from Belgium. They were a company in the seventies and eighties making popular and rather affordable figurines from Belgium sandstone. Those now vintage sculptures are for sale on second hand sites in Belgium, France and the Netherlands. The lion’s head is one of their larger productions and seems to be more rare, but there is an exact one in white on one of those sites for €175.
Love all the mystery finds solved! Glad to know I am not the only one who "just has a hunch" and holds onto things for years until it is solved! And, hooray for Jesse's first Bitossi! 🎉
Loving all of the beauty and then all of the knowledge. I was a baby when all of this stuff came out so I recognize the feeling of it all but must confess I did not like any of it until my parents now are gone and I'm looking back. When I was married in 1985 and got some of the Victorian pieces from our grandparents , my MIL said Aghh, I hate that old stuff from her horrible Victorian upbringing . I loved it and was always sad she said that but now i am feeling the same way as her about MCM but with a different accepting eye to the young-ins' who appreciate the art of the time. I didn't have a horrible childhood so I love half of it because of nostalgia and kitschy graphics but it doesn't fit with the old stuff I already have in my house and my love of artistic detail back in the early part of our country's history. Have fun you all
I held on to a block print for several years of farm workers entitled The Reapers. I could never identify the artist. About 2 weeks ago I was finally able to identify the artist, who' s prints sell in the $200- 300 range, and who's oil paintings sell in the thousands. Sold it for $125.00 with imperfections.
Great episode, so many cool things! I actually learnt about Bitossi through your channel and jumped in my chair because I've had a blue lidded jar for years that turned out to be a Bitossi. Thanks for sharing all your knowledge! ❤
I don't speak French, but I pronounce it Cardan, with the accent on the dan. Very popular in the 1980s and clearly remember it being pronounced that way.
I honestly don't know how you can bear to part with any of your cool finds. You've got an internal radar that's spot on every time. I really like the update portion of the video and I hope you'll be incorporating that more often. I love donkeys too and that little shiner will be so fun to wear!
You have some Kentucky themes! Rude Osolnik taught woodworking at Berea College in KY. Good eye! The John Taylor pottery ruffled bowl is an early name for Louisville Stoneware, now Stoneware & Co. An older pottery company that’s still in production in my hometown Louisville, KY. Love your videos!
Yesss!!!! To the updates and identification!!! Loved this part so much! It's so helpful, and I know I for one (I'm sure others too) are sometimes left wondering about certain pieces you get that we aren't sure where they're from or the value of the piece! So please continue this part of your videos! As always I learn and love watching your videos sooo much!! ❤❤❤
Yay Jesse! Good instincts! I do love how the two of you learn from each other’s interests and actually listen and are interested. Y’all are the best! How I wish I wasn’t at the other side of the country from you. I have learned so much and am so grateful to find you, Laura. BTW… your videos has the very best music and is always perfection for all of your treasure seeking. Sending you both the very best of this Thanksgiving Season and wish y’all many blessings for the coming holiday season.
Best way to enjoy my Saturday morning coffee. I loved everything you found! This video was sooo good. So happy you finally identified the maker of that stunning piece of pottery. Wow, you have a lot of patience! Also love the museum piece you found to replace the one that was damaged. I also recently purchased a tiny museum piece of an ancient Cyprus ceramic horse from 600 b.c. Finally, keep the lion. It's amazing!
Did you know that Germany has a limit of how many gnomes you can bring in to the country from another European country. I drove to Poland and brought back 12 for family and they told me how many but I forgot. Lol
Great video! WHAT A HAUL!!! Congratulations to Jesse on his find - the moment of addiction, captured! Also, you asked, so here's my take: 1. Pierre Car-DAHN. 2. That silver jewelry piece looks like a bunny with a giant Easter egg!
Shop 1: Loved the 60 s artpiece! And the boxshelve Shop 2: Bring me that piece of marble , PLEASE! Shop 3: Loved the blazers Shop 4: I need to lern about Raku Shop 5: Love the bird! Beautyfull vase OMG those lamps!!! Shop 6: All geate finds. Ald I spotted a supercute white piggy Watch out Laura! Jesse is getting smarter! What a grate haul xxx
Hi there Laura & Jesse! I’m thrilled to view y’all’s latest video! When you were in the Huge Antique Mall and walked past some beautiful colored glass vases they’re called sling( or slung) vases! In the process of making them they’re actually finished that way so they look like they’re thrown with a higher “lip” and it descends down to the lower section of the vase! They’re made in many colors! Just wanted to let you know! I’m fascinated with all the treasures y’all find, and I love how you both have so much fun together as you thrift & go antiquing! Thanks 🙏 😊💕
Yes! the updates part of the video was great and keep 'em coming! Also my favorite part of thrifting is to come home and thoroughly research a piece I have found. Sometimes there are great wins and sometime not, but the knowledge gained is always worth the price of the item. Loved this video and of course your studio haul and styling are also fun and informative! Thanks Laura for all you do to educate and entertain us with your fantastic finds!! I'm still hoping to find my first Bitossi in the wild. Never give up!
My niece and I are firm believers in hidden treasures. If we come across an expensive piece neither of us is interested in, we hide on a crowded space. Loved your talk at the end. I have held onto a pottery small tray with a teeny frog on one end. There squiggly lines on the bottom. No one in my groups have yet to identify it.
Danny, The Niche Lady, just posted a video where she went to an estate sale full of some crazy great mid century stuff. You really need to check it out!
Love your channel, really enjoy watching you & Jessie both shopping and finding treasures. Yes, the wrap up at the end is wonderful. looking forward to your next post!

I love that Jesse is thrifting with you so often now. Always enjoyed your videos together, so enjoyable!
I was curious if he has become a full timer (which is awesome!) along with Laura..especially since they travel so much now
Couples who thrift together stay together! 😁🩷🩷
I LOVE the new end portion on identifying.
me too!
I like the updates and identification on items part a lot.
Me too!!
Me three..I like to know history behind items
Me four
Keep the lion, Laura! Making money is important, but it is also valuable to know that; we make money to acquire beautiful things that we love!
I agree. Some items I find I have to keep it because they make my heart happy.
100% agree with this

Does anyone else talk to Laura and Jessie while watching the video like you are actually there shopping with them? Or… is that just me 🤔🤔😂
Hi Laura! You bought my great grandmother's dresser set with the 2 frames and tray from my friend Roxy's booth at Lighthouse Antiques! My great grandmother's name was Mabel Fain and she was quite a character!

Such a great couple. Love that count of how many bitosi’s each has found for the day. Hilarious. Thank you for sharing.
You are our very favorite pickers!!!! We have learned so much from you. Thank you. Plus Congrats Jesse on your special find!!! 🎉🎉🎉 It was epic. ❤

I can never complain that my Goodwill never has anything good anymore because you guys were practically in my neighborhood and found all those amazing pieces. And Jesse finding his first Bitossi for that price! Way to go Jesse!
KEEP the black lion head! It is stunning! You will have sellers remorse if you get rid of it. And the chances of you finding another one are slim
LOVE the goldfish painting!
What's most attractive about that art is the movement.
That was one of your best videos - enjoyed it start to finish! Love seeing Jesse more involved in your thrifting adventures. You have incredible chemistry.
This, by far is my FAVORITE video you have done! By far!!!❤️
Love the Updates and ID section at the end, please keep doing it!
Blessings!
I believe the floral pottery by Taylor was made right here in Louisville, Ky. He preceded Louisville Stoneware.
Great idea having an update at the end! And your Christmas trip to Europe looks like such fun.
It's great that your husband goes shopping with you. Happy for you. Love this video😊😊😊
I just refinished a dresser like that one in the restore!
Have fun you all
I think the silver pin looks like a rabbit with an Easter egg. Love your videos, I learn so much from them!
I agree 100%! My mom used to have an almost identical brooch when she was a school teacher & she always wore it at Easter time
I held on to a block print for several years of farm workers entitled The Reapers.
I discovered I had a Bitossi ashtray from watching Laura ! I picked it up for $1 at a yardsale years ago. I'd been
using it for a jewelry trinket dish
Great job Jess..I think she's rubbin off on ya..ya think?
you do an awesome job sharing! i resell clothing but enjoy watching your adventures..both of you!
LOVE the colorful still life with the pineapple and Jesse's 1970s silkscreen shirt!ha
It’s too good 😂
Could it possibly be Gloria Vanderbilt when she was young? Thus the swan image.@@leftcoastrevivals
I loved the story about identifying the beautiful vase from a random image match! It is definitely a match.
I don't speak French, but I pronounce it Cardan, with the accent on the dan. Very popular in the 1980s and clearly remember it being pronounced that way.
The Christmas markets and the fests the rest of the year were so much fun.😊
I honestly don't know how you can bear to part with any of your cool finds. You've got an internal radar that's spot on every time. I really like the update portion of the video and I hope you'll be incorporating that more often. I love donkeys too and that little shiner will be so fun to wear!
I just want the art deco lion. He's breathtaking 😍
Thank you so much for that info! I didn’t know that about Louisville stoneware
I would not be selling the Lion. Keep it. It is a majestic piece of art. 🤩
This is a great example of what Malcolm Gladwell wrote about in his book "Blink: The Power of Thinking Without Thinking" aka...trusting your gut!
John B. Taylor worked at Louisville Stoneware here in Louisville, Kentucky. That bowl is 1970's
I love the Update and Identification at the end of the video!
The paintings & the carved toucan are my favorite. I love the extra texture as well. Congrats, Jesse!!
Yes, love the toucan, whether it’s valuable or not…
John B Taylor stoneware originated in Louisville, Ky. He sold his company and is now Louisville Stoneware. You found a nice piece,
So happy for Jesse and his Bitosi. Really liked the ID video.
Did you know that Germany has a limit of how many gnomes you can bring in to the country from another European country. I drove to Poland and brought back 12 for family and they told me how many but I forgot. Lol
This was great. Love how much fun Y'all have together. I love the ending of identifying details on a piece.
Great video! WHAT A HAUL!!! Congratulations to Jesse on his find - the moment of addiction, captured! Also, you asked, so here's my take: 1. Pierre Car-DAHN. 2. That silver jewelry piece looks like a bunny with a giant Easter egg!
Great episode! Love the updates and identifications . ❤
Car-Dan is the correct pronunciation. And I think your kangaroo is a rabbit with an Easter egg, but that’s the beauty of it…to each, his own.

What a grate haul xxx
I like that you buy items for your own use, and then show how you use them
Paint laid on thickly is called ‘impasto’
Yes! I was hoping someone would leave a comment about that. I love it, too!
Thanks 🙏 😊💕
The glass vases are called swung glass because of the way the glass blower swings the glass to make the top of the vase 😊❤
I remember those from childhood (I’m in my sixties), my grandmother had several!
LOVED the update section! So awesome!
We've always pronounced it "Pierre Cardaan." 😊
Yes! the updates part of the video was great and keep 'em coming!
Absolutely love the updates ,such a great adventure. Definitely my favorite gatherer lol to follow ❤.
The “Lady Bowl” that you found as you were leaving… I believe it is a depiction of “Eve” and two green apples 🍏
What a lovely video. And bravo to Jesse on his first Bitosi. Love the updates on past purchases. ❤️❤️❤️
Yes you are right about the pottery!
I love that you are so passionate about your work!
