I like sacred geometry because it's probably the least subjective type of esotericism. Ratios and constants like Phi and Lucas numbers are evident everywhere, no matter what you believe. I guess that's why Tool is so great, the inspiration for their music is pretty much universal and isn't constrained by a specific set of ideals.
That's fair I'm a Christian who strongly hates the illuminati doctrines but I don't feel attacked by tools music it's rather depending the relationship with each individual in their personal beliefs
yet there's plenty of subjectivity when picking up on patterns and geometries, especially the hypothesized deeper meanings or argued significance of them. but yes, tool definitely departed from mainstream music in ways that make it unique and complex.
When did Tool ever state that they believed in nothing? I've heard them state in a couple interviews that each member has different likes and beliefs so the resulting sound is an amalgamation of all their tastes. I think what needs to be focused on here is that these are artists who use different philosophies to inspire them ("open the third eye" if you will)

93. Sacred geometry in music and the other arts is a highly successful mechanism to connect with tons of people, either with overt symbolism or otherwise. I even flip through Liber 777 to get inspired. It's common for people who aren't familiar with this school of thought to use its basic structure in their compositions; it just takes some familiarity to recognize the elements and they aren't always implemented in a way to actually "mean" anything that is tangible or digestible to the psyche.

I saw the image and being at the end of this video was taken beyond the eyes all CEVs eye movies on a heavy shrooms trip of 4g when only need 1g for me to trip balls I'm sensitive to it. This geometry was probably inspired by dark entities of a disinterested cthulian nature (I say that to be charitable) to open the door to their realm, if not a hateful kind wanting to use people's spirit, energy, body for its own ends, including maybe opening a door to their world. The last is probably what they are and the only thing those doing this stuff are opening are their souls to it. Thusly, there will be no ascending. The last one to do that was 2000 years ago and let's just say he was way out of our league and any attempts to get close to that will be the dark spirits picking us up or deluding us into thinking we are going inward or to another time or whatever. The only truly sacred geometry instructs the soul about the cosmic truth Christ gave us. The old Catholic church buildings really did it! It taught humility by tall roofs for awe and had the altar not facing the people and the choir loft in the back and up high for humility. It has poor boxes and flyers about how to help the needy, as the order to serve the Lord, if not also religious orders to help that. Anyway, that's the vehicle for enlightenment. Humility says that if you think you are holy, enlightened or whatever you pretentioysly believe about yourself, you just made yourself not so--and you'd be right.

If you remember on Opiate there was a basic heavy metal vibe to it. Very simple and intense. It wasn't quite metal like we're used to but still very rudimentary. I want that back one more time.

I used to think the same at one point. But seeing they are avid believers and practioners of Solomonic Magic I've since learned better. They are invoking Christ not slandering him. I Highly recommend reading the Greater Key of Solomon to start. While they are against organized religion they are not against Christ at all.
There are a few references to it indeed. A fair amount of it is to do with MJK's relationship with his mother. She was apparently quite a religious person. "Judith" by A perfect circle is an obvious example, at least to anyone who's read Maynard's autobiography. Though he's admitted in interviews he's not a fan of organised religion. What Danny says about the geometric references being subjective is true to a point, in the sense we all have a life path number in numerology and yet there is a universality to things too which the late great Thich Nhat Hanh called "inter being"... some also call it inter dependence or oneness/non duality. This can relate to astrological influences to some extent but the Fibonnaci sequence links to sacred geometry and is present in all of nature and even parts of the human anatomy. Obviously that's where Alex Grey's artwork comes in. On one level there is criticism of organised religion and many are aware of the dangers of putting an external god/goddess on a pedestal and expecting them to save you. It amounts to mere projection often and is often associated with dogma and sometimes extremism. For me - I was Christened as a baby but wouldn't consider myself a Christian. I'm more interested in Eastern philosophy and Tool especially opened my eyes to that with their sound. The drumming is tribal and shamanic and on Lateralus there are song titles like "Mantra" and "reflection". On reflection Maynard sings - crucify the ego before it's far too late etc. That line is interesting because Jesus was said to be crucified and ego detachment or letting go is a common theme of Buddhism. However it is often said Buddhism is a philosophy and not a religion. I tend to see it as that too because the basic precepts and philosophy is quite jargon free unlike Christianity and Islam which can get mired in vagueness making it potentially confusing and easier to misinterpret. That is why in my early 20's I began to read 📚 books about Buddhism and meditation. In my late 20's I began doing yoga an and more recently officially qualified as a sound healer. Though sound healing has a strong link with Buddhism we know that Buddhist countries are not immune from tyranny anymore than anywhere else. The fact the Dalai lama has lived in exile is an example of this. Also Thich Nhat Hanch spent much of his life based in France due to issues in his native Vietnam. Other countries where Buddhism is popular like Burma and Cambodia are likewise no stranger to serious humanitarian crises. These shows that no matter how strong one's faith is, or whatever religion or philosophy you're more aligned to, no one can ever be immune from the vast array of human challenges. We just have to do our best at creating strong community values and self support and advocacy can be helpful here. Especially in light of the recent lockdowns where we were told and often forced or at least coerced into avoiding each other.

This geometry was probably inspired by dark entities of a disinterested cthulian nature (I say that to be charitable) to open the door to their realm, if not a hateful kind wanting to use people's spirit, energy, body for its own ends, including maybe opening a door to their world. The last is probably what they are and the only thing those doing this stuff are opening are their souls to it. Thusly, there will be no ascending. If you're counting on a band like Tool to do something so ass-backwards, cro-magnon, and down-right stupid then I think you are going to be sadly mistaken. And not to mention they are a million other bands out there that do that type of stuff. There’s so much slander of Jesus in their music, it makes me question my own beliefs but also feel more attached to them… It’s hard to explain but no matter what you believe, I cannot see why it is so important to blaspheme Jesus. I used to think the same at one point. But seeing they are avid believers and practioners of Solomonic Magic I've since learned better. They are invoking Christ not slandering him. I Highly recommend reading the Greater Key of Solomon to start. While they are against organized religion they are not against Christ at all.

There are a few references to it indeed. A fair amount of it is to do with MJK's relationship with his mother. She was apparently quite a religious person. "Judith" by A perfect circle is an obvious example, at least to anyone who's read Maynard's autobiography. Though he's admitted in interviews he's not a fan of organised religion. What Danny says about the geometric references being subjective is true to a point, in the sense we all have a life path number in numerology and yet there is a universality to things too which the late great Thich Nhat Hanh called "inter being"... some also call it inter dependence or oneness/non duality. This can relate to astrological influences to some extent but the Fibonnaci sequence links to sacred geometry and is present in all of nature and even parts of the human anatomy. Obviously that's where Alex Grey's artwork comes in. On one level there is criticism of organised religion and many are aware of the dangers of putting an external god/goddess on a pedestal and expecting them to save you. It amounts to mere projection often and is often associated with dogma and sometimes extremism. For me - I was Christened as a baby but wouldn't consider myself a Christian. I'm more interested in Eastern philosophy and Tool especially opened my eyes to that with their sound. The drumming is tribal and shamanic and on Lateralus there are song titles like "Mantra" and "reflection". On reflection Maynard sings - crucify the ego before it's far too late etc. That line is interesting because Jesus was said to be crucified and ego detachment or letting go is a common theme of Buddhism. However it is often said Buddhism is a philosophy and not a religion. I tend to see it as that too because the basic precepts and philosophy is quite jargon free unlike Christianity and Islam which can get mired in vagueness making it potentially confusing and easier to misinterpret. That is why in my early 20's I began to read 📚 books about Buddhism and meditation. In my late 20's I began doing yoga an and more recently officially qualified as a sound healer. Though sound healing has a strong link with Buddhism we know that Buddhist countries are not immune from tyranny anymore than anywhere else. The fact the Dalai lama has lived in exile is an example of this. Also Thich Nhat Hanch spent much of his life based in France due to issues in his native Vietnam. Other countries where Buddhism is popular like Burma and Cambodia are likewise no stranger to serious humanitarian crises. These shows that no matter how strong one's faith is, or whatever religion or philosophy you're more aligned to, no one can ever be immune from the vast array of human challenges. We just have to do our best at creating strong community values and self support and advocacy can be helpful here. Especially in light of the recent lockdowns where we were told and often forced or at least coerced into avoiding each other.
