Thank you so much! This was a huge help to me. My husband has not been able to do this due to severe health issues and I was able to take this apart and clean it with your help!!! So proud of myself!
Your laid back attitude gave me the courage to finally disconnect the hose from the garbage disposal and clean out the massive clog I found there! Draining perfectly now and only took me 15 mins to do :)
Thank you! My dishwasher is working again and my bf will probably not mind that I used his toothbrush when I tell him since I saved us a plumber's bill!
Thanks for your info. Mine still didn't clear so I emptied every bit of standing water using a section cut off the bottom of a plastic water bottle to use as a big spoon. When empty, I drained the last of it away by wringing out a sponge until there was (almost) no water left. I then poured two kettles of freshly boiled water and added a few spoonfuls of bicarbonate of soda. After a minute or two I ran a rinse cycle. The boiling water must have melted any fat deposits that were blocking the internals and everything flowed freely again. It's worth trying this if anyone still can't get it to clear. Thanks again for the video!
I watched half of your video, accidentally stumbled on how to fix my garbage disposal, and that fixed the problem of why both the sink and dishwasher wouldn't drain. Thank you so much!
Thank you for the video! You just helped me save $200. I installed a new garbage disposer and I didn't realized that the tailpipe had a seal, which blocked the drain pipe of dishwasher.
Thanks for the video. I have been trying for a while to solve a clogging issue unsuccessfully, but today I watched your video, took the hose of and found a pistachio shell stuck in it. Thanks again!!!
I should get my maintenance workers paycheck this was like this for 3 weeks qnd i got tired of it and watched youre vid and diy it and took me 5 minutes to what he said was complicated thank you
I tried sticking my finger in the drain at the bottom similarly to 1:50 and there was something that cut my finger. Do some dishwashers have blades in there?
I just fixed my dishwasher today. I had the same problem that the dishwasher wouldn’t drain. So my water drain line was CLOGGED SOOOO badly. Fat and nonsense. Took it off, went outside with it and pressure washed it and a bunch of sh1t flew out of it as if I had Taco Bell earlier. So re installed the water drain hose and it worked great!
Very nice *Atten Viewers I added an extra helpful assembly replacement tip* Thanks @StatUpBox I needed the last extra steps of hose cleaning that was left completely out of the last couple of Videos I watched... and I hope you don't mind me including just a tiny extra helpful tip to all viewers about reassembly of the filters and how to place them, so they are set in right. The Large filter dish should be snugly set onto the lower filter basket by flexing it over the top of the ridge that faces up, then make sure to set the extension that sticks out into the hole in the bottom of the dishwasher that's at 11 o'clock. This will ensure that everything is not loosy-goosy and possibly damage itself or break the dishwasher sprayer arm
If you'd rather try something else simpler before you try this, turn on your sink, and when you can get your dishwasher to start draining, pulse the garbage disposal off and on until you hear the dishwasher start filling up again/stop draining. My model is not similar here, and when I felt my food filter I didn't feel anything much trapping the filter. Although, there was a lot of fiber that I shouldn't have put into the dishwasher, I think that it had gotten into the drain hose that intersects with the sink. The garbage disposal helped suck out the fiber that was stuck in the drain hose from the dishwasher.
Hey guys awesome videos I'm a desperate need of some help or tips I noticed the hose that connects to dishwasher is leaking I'm not sure why is doing that since we never used it since we moved in 9 months ago
It's amazing to me that I have the exact same dishwasher! This video is helpful but, I have standing water in my dishwasher.I also have a garbage disposal. I'm not sure what to do in this case. Can you please help?
Hi! My dishwasher has been leaking since I moved in, as I was following your tutorial and was feeling the drains (@1:50), I realized that there was a tub plug looking thing that’s screwed in, should I unscrew and remove it? Thanks!
I plunged the water in the garbage disposal site out and took the hose off to visualize and ensure the tube was patent. Then I took the DW filters apart. There was a lot of mineral build up, food particles and paper that i assume was price stickers. I learned that if you do all of this and there is still standing water in the DW that it should go down when you start it up for yhe next was because it is actually pumped out by a DW motor.
I have almost the same dishwasher. It doesn’t dry properly so it may need changing but there’s always pink residue or black mouldy looking residue inside the dishwasher. I’m tired of always cleaning it out because it’s very time consuming. There are no clogs. Do you have any idea why this would be happening?
i have a frigidaire dishwasher that looks similar to this inside. the dishwasher hasn’t worked in years. the door is broken. it was dirty and i poured water in it to clean it now the water is standing. how can i make it move if my dishwasher won’t turn on?
Probably a dumb question. Do I need to put all the parts back in? Like will it drain before I place the spinning head and filter back in? I am trying to make sure it works before putting all items back together
as the saying says, the only _______ question is the one not asked. as a precaution we like to place parts back, b/c they filter any sediments or solids that may be in the water preventing any future clogs.good luck👍😊
Great info but I still can’t figure out how the drain hose on the back of my dishwasher comes off haha. Back doesn’t come off and can’t see the clamp just looks like it pushes in but I can’t it out and it has a hole in it soooo.
I have a lot of water in the bottom of my dishwasher should I try to clean that out first? At the end you said run the dish washer to get rid of the extra water? Clean out most of the water attempt the repair and then turn it on at the end to get rid of remaining water?
3:20 By that point... checking the Y, may as well undo the P-trap piece at the bottom there and clear any crap out of it too. (If it's in the Y, 99% certain it's also in the P-trap.)
Thanks!

You can clean more gunk out from between the base piece and the circular screen filter that holds the large disk filter.
