I pocked one up for $50 and some change... I bought it as "non-working" and with very little love, I got it going. Coming from a Latitude 7400 at work it's not nearly as fast of course but I love that it has a docking connector. This thing will dock to my Dell 1080p ultrasharp no problem and since that monitor has multiple inputs I can switch from my TB16 and my Latitude e6230 with a single button and have multiple tasks running on multiple laptops at the same time. I don't game much, but I do have an XPS 8930 special edition with a 1060 if I want to. It's more lighter and compact then many laptops I've owned, and if I need dvd rom access I have the old eSata Dell branded DVD burner I can use. In closing must say over all I am impressed with this little guy. Especially considering the price.

Thank you for the review. These are extremely good value for money. I purchased one of these recently with 16Gb of RAM for the equivalent of around $300. I love the size . I travel regularly and this is my perfect companion as it is larger and less awkward to use than a netbook and I don't want to splash out on a Surface. The model that I bought does not have a fingerprint reader - not that I use this in any case!

I had Dell Latitude E6400, E6410, E6420, E6330 and i am currently using a Dell E6430 With i5 3320m vpro, 8 Gigs of DDR3 RAM, 1600x900 display and HDD+SSD Config. This little beast in the review is a musthave. In my country (Bulgaria). You will spend around 300 USD for a new 12" Acer or some other plastic, cheap unreliable laptop. Laptops like this E6230 are really the perfect road companion. They are light and in the same time rugged. Steel chasis, hinges and other. Magnesium and aluminium parts are used too. Nowdays, SSDs are so cheap that u can use one as a main drive. 256 gigs should be enough for a backup laptop. The design is very clean and i love it. Even the low res 1366x768 will look good on 12" display. The 3G option is also a plus for a mobile users.

Pros: pretty reliable, durable if you take care of it, bang for buck, Wi-Fi is strong, speakers underrated. Design is nice too.
Cons: gaming nonexistent, display not HD, battery life is a tiny bit below "decent," and keyboard is not backlit
It's actually an awesome PC for its price range imo. Got mine 3 years ago and it has lasted me through high school without much wear. Mostly use it for web surfing, Microsoft Office, Netflix, and streaming sports. Solid for all. Photoshop wasn't bad either but I don't use it regularly enough to comment. It's quite obviously not a gaming PC and you can only play simple games with low FPS (I played older games like Assassin's Creed II and it was only good for those).

Huh. I bought mine in the same span of time (April of this year) for $215 but it had an i5-3440m, 8GB of RAM, and a 256GB SSD. I win! :-P
EDIT: I feel the opposite about the keyboard. It is one of the most comfortable and satisfying laptop keyboards I've ever used.

    I am looking at this with this: "Dell E6330 / i5-3380M / 4GB
    Ram / 500GB HDD / DVD-RW / 13"
    Windows 10"
That is what it says online, do you know if you can play the sims 4 on this? or dying light?

You can buy a back-lit keyboard for the e6230 in the sub-$35 range (I think I got mine off eBay - hmm, maybe rakuten.com??? - for $28 delivered). The one I received had the Dell TrackPoint device (which was a pleasant surprise). Replacing the keyboard was about a 20 minute job (but I've had experience with this sort of thing, so YMMV), and there were no surprises or gotchas: it was a straight forward replacement. If you're worried about the trackpad, you can replace it as part of the mod.
W10 (I upgraded) had no problems at all.
...yeah, I'm fond of the e6230 too lol. (I paid well under $200 for a "sub-optimal", cosmetically challenged refurb). Especially considering it *finally* replaced a 2005 Acer ultraportable (I tend to keep stuff well past the use-by date). Great deal!

Everyone here, except me, feels they got a great PC at a reasonable price. I'm confused. Is USA Computers in S. Florida a store known to rip people off, or do I have the worst luck a person can have. My very 1st PC was an HP and it consistently out performed other PC's. Some were custom built to play games. This was in 2001 and my HP running Win ME, and only 32 MB of video RAM, was playing games that gamers with the latest video cards there were couldn't even get the game to start. In 2001 a PC like mine cost almost $1,000 so I purchased an extended warranty, the best 1 the store sold. It included telephone aid. One time something went wrong and I panicked. I was going through a bad time in my life and that PC plus all the games was the only thing keeping me sane. The telephone tech guy calmed me down by telling me that when a new PC suddenly won't even boot up 90% of the time it's a software issue and he said we will probably have it up and running that night. I figured a PC is like a car, if the engine won't start, you have big problems. He said no, the hardware in most PC's will never break. At least not before the software gets out dated. And until I got this refurbished piece of junk this has been true. I wish the store, USA Computers, would have at least had a tech person on staff that could have spoken to me. Especially when I told him I'm in NY, I'm old, with poor health and I barely survive on Disability. But no, he seemed almost certain this was hardware and he couldn't help me on the phone.
W7 wouldn't boot up normally but I did get it into Safe Mode. Some friends convinced me to try running System Restore, it didn't help. Then I was told to go into the BIOS, which I'm not comfortable doing, and make 2 or 3 changes. Then I was convinced to take the HDD out to learn the brand. Now it doesn't even see that it has a HDD. Now it's a $250 paperweight. Or junk.
And all of you love this Dell e6320. I guess God is testing me once again. I'll pass, God means more than anything on earth. I just wish He'd let me leave. All but 1 person in my family has now died. I hate having no family. My 1 cousin is married and lives in Florida. I doubt we'll ever see each other again. My PC is my only contact with the world. At least I still have this old one. I thank God for this.

The 1 I got only has 230 GB HDD and after 5 months this thing crapped out on me. I'm trying to figure out what's wrong. Did the HDD die, or something else. Mine came with a DVD player/burner. The HDD made an odd whirling sound when it was working. No more. I think this thing is a piece of junk. I think it has a HGST HDD why did it quit after only 5 months?

That price sounds too good to be true based on the eBay market. I would look very carefully at the description for missing components and the physical condition. If it does check out, you'll want a new battery and an SSD.

Theje, You made a good review here. But I couldn't give you a thumb up because the Dell PC I got is a piece of junk. It died after only 5 months and the store who sold it wouldn't even let me talk to a Tech person. I doubt they have one. USA Computer Stores in S. Florida is a store I'd never deal with again. Sorry that I took my anger out on you. The review is good but what am I the only person who got a lemon PC. The PC I'm on right now is 10 yrs old and I never had a real problem.
