This was a refreshing conversation that illuminated some not so good core beliefs and perspectives that were developed and normalized in my childhood and carried into my adulthood. Relating to the physical discomfort, and high jacked central nervous system and then getting to a place of awareness and regulation to only to return to the “familiar “. This conversation is beyond helpful and has created a deeper interest in creating a new experience for myself. Thank you! 🙏🏾

I first found these on Amazon music and didn't know I could see the people as they were speaking, nor interact here with the comments! Finding out both of these IS my blessing and gratitude today :)

I went through a depressive state because of the expectations I placed on my family. Unfortunately, and painfully, I had to remove myself and abandon the picture perfect family image I had in mind. I had to accept I cant control their actions.

You don't want that responsibility, to control someone else. But you knew this when you created this world. You just had to remember again.

Self love (celibacy is like a factory reset), learn self, care and appreciate self (mind, body, soul) THEN identify workable hardline boundaries, but loose expectations, its not about them, its about you. (still solo/clear headed) THEN stride in your own identity, without needing any help. THEN, you'll attract.
A Stanfofd Psychologist Dr. Bandura said "Peoples beliefs about their abilities have a profound impact on those abilities, ability is not a fixed property, there is a huge variability in how you perform. People who have a sense of self-efficacy bounce back from failures. They approach things in terms with how to handle them rather than worrying about what can go wrong." As well that Self-efficacy can be learned by way of learning any new competencies. Optimism and Hope can be learned through self efficacy, by way of confidence which builds resilience.

Also, everyone naturally has biases and prejudices, the first step in fixing a problem is identifying it in the first place. You have to identify your biases and suspend them in order to try to be fair and impartial in judgement of others.

It never ceases to amaze me how even though you have all the right information and all the tools necessary for your growth and healing, it takes another one hearing or retelling of a situation you can relate to so much that it enlightens you. And then you start thinking how did I not think about it before from this perspective? 🥹🙏🏻 very helpful podcast 🤍

As I try to navigate these waters of our divorce process I find that I am learning so much. I pushed therapy so much because I thought a lot of this stuff I am learning through different podcasts would help us come together to see eye to eye on some things. Maybe not even eye to eye but different ways to handle things. Its so sad that we couldn't save or fix our marriage because of possible trauma and things we both needed to unlearn. :(

These book-promoting podcasts are lengthy and although the topics are relevant many lack actionable steps one can take in a situation. Great topic here and spot-on questions from Jay but I heard more self-disclosure examples than "what can I do" answers. Ex: @7:50

Great-video, My relationship of 5 years ended a month ago. The love of my life decided to leave me, I really love him so much I can’t stop thinking about him, I’ve tried my very best to get him back in my life, but to no avail, I’m frustrated, I don’t see my life with anyone else. I’ve done my best to get rid of the thoughts of him, but I can’t, I don’t know why I’m saying this here, I really miss him and just can’t stop thinking about him

Have been in such a situation. My relationship ended about two years ago, but I could not let him go, so I had to do all I could to get him back, i had to seek the help of a spiritual adviser who helped me bring him back, now we are back together, and I must say I am enjoying every moment.

As bible says, know yourself first. Meaning search our hearts from childhood, adulthood, all the way up, search it carefully, and be venerable about it,there is healing by being venerable, so that the relationship afterwards would fixed.

lool you can't blame a mentor for the outcomes of their clients. We're all deeply flawed, working through our own ways. Sometimes we need people to guide us, advise us, or simply to listen to us. You don't know what services he is providing and the extent/ impact of his work. Maybe he helped those couples you're talking about to finally split cause they were deeply insecure and not a good fit to begin with😅 we can't judge things we don't know
