Birdrock is my go to zen out place. I go to the roasters for their honey latte coffee then park on Calumet or Chelsea and walk a around admiring all the luxury homes and doing surf checks down the little accesses/lanes all along the way. I just look out at the ocean and zen out!
So cool to see some current places.. I never KNEW about this area near La Jolla. and btw that bathroom issue is an NYC thing as well. And as your friend said, if you sweat it out, you don't have to go to the bathroom haha (I vlogged yesterday in 90 degree heat and humidity).
Yeah Bird Rock is definitely a San Diegan Locals favorite spot. If a tourist comes through, they tend to drive right by the area without stopping since its sandwiched between la jolla and pacific beach. Its also out of the way from freeways so its harder to get to. haha i ended up finding a bush by the trail.
I adore Bird Rock Coffee! The best place, great area. Oh, he said it's a hidden gem? I went there for my oceanography class. Oscars Mexican & Seafood on Turquoise is the BEST. I can eat four battered fish tacos with the two sauces. And I enjoy the grilled shrimp tacos there too.
Fish tacos are my absolutely favorite food! Thanks for the recommendation! I took my daughter to PB last year and we visited seal rock. We stayed so close to Bird rock but since Im not a local... I didnt know! Thanks for the tips!!
well so far on my list I have the California Mission Trail, San Diego Zoo, San Diego Hard Rock Cafe and USS Midway Museum, Terry Pine's State Natural Reserve, Balboa Park and Coronado Beach
Love it there! Mostra Coffee is a new spot that is Filipino-owned and very popular around town. Cafe 86 is great. I also love Pannekin Coffee which i will cover soon!
Oscar's, BETTER be in your top 5 fish taco list. AND you are eating at the correct location. Bluewater has eclipsed Southbeach that WAS one of my go to's. Southbeach's quality has gone down. The quality of the fish at Bluewater is amazing.

Mostra Coffee is my new spot! I interviewed the Owners a couple weeks ago. They're awesome! Love the OG Oscar's and the chipotle like sauce.
